Oh Jazzy, thank you for the treat!!! Candies to the eyes. I kept scrolling back to look at the photos. Many smiles on my face too, Feline.I love colorful things. I don't think I could ride in the balloon myself because I have a fear of height also.

    BBL

Stomach is not behaving and we have women get together in half an hour with lots of yummy finger foods. I love food. Should I eat now and pay later? Noisy opera singer in my tummy, Susan.

Jazzjunebug, Shelby is hanging in there. One eye went blind, we noticed a couple weeks ago. Tunnel vision and depth perception in other one. But potty habits haven't changed, and she is still very good at begging for food. Just gotta be careful how you approach her. Gotta let her know your hand is coming near. Stuff like that. But she makes her way around the house with no problems. I an observer. So cool to see what survival instincts they have. She licks so many things. Leaves a scent, she can find it. Walks around all furniture, like circles therm. Deep perception gone, so we will manual find our how big something is. Sad to see them get old, but cool to see their resilency. she is on tramadol like me. So her pain is better in her front legs.

    Cool balloons:)

Susan - Aww! So cute. I hope Claire saves all of the things you knit for Elena, even after she has outgrown them. Elena will be able to touch/feel how much you love her in the years to come.

Yes, it is very difficult to watch our beloved pets grow old. You just wish you could do something to make it better for them. They are so loving, loyal and forgiving.

Hi ladies, I'll have to catch up later, but quickly wanted to tell you I'm beginning to feel like a different person after just a few days off meds. Not pain free, but better. I'm also less foggy and not feeling so defeated. I think meds were impacting me more emotionally and psychologically than I thought.

Jazzy, Have a fabulous time on your trip!!!

Good morning friends- we are getting some soaking rain this morning which is always a welcomed thing here in desert, but may compromise the last day of the balloon fiesta. They wrap up tomorrow with the final mass ascension.

I will be heading out on my vaca tomorrow and will be off line here the next week and wishing everyone well until we meet again!

JeanQ, hope you are home and resting comfortably. Try to be ahead of your pain. Don't be like me and wait until you feel like wolves knawing on your chest. I would loan you our recliner. I was afraid to sleep on my bed for fear of not being able to get up. Amazing how many muscles we use to do a simple thing like getting out of bed. Speedy healing. By the way, don't believe what ShepK said. She could be both Calvin and Hobbes depending on the days.

Mags, that was a sweet poem. I hope you get relief from your mouth pain soon. Always love your humor.

Susan, the Iron Lady, how was your hike? Did your lung/heart keep up with you. My coworker introduced me to this hike group two months ago. I really enjoyed the hike to Donner Lake. The best part is break for lunch and chatting with Ms. Annie, a Polish widow in her mid 70's . Yup, in her seventies! Hope to go on another trip in November. So hard to see those we love suffer including our pets. Shelby is close to 100 human age, right? Poor girl. JunieB said it beautifully regarding the knitted garments. Elena will know how much she is loved.

Jazzy, I often forget I no longer have a gallbladder. Can't eat like I used to. As long as I have access to the toilet, I am good. I usually need a nap afterwards and I am good to go. Could be worse and I am thankful. Have a safe trip and take lots of pictures.

JunieB, so true about dogs. They are loyal, loving, and forgiving. We human can learn from them.

ShepK, agh...I was afraid you would tell me to back off on giving Mitzy a bath. Twice a year is all they need? I would need to take her left over Prozac that we gave her for separation anxiety, if I have to let her go that long! She had skin problems prior to us adopting her. Lots of sores and scabs in her belly with dandruff and hair loss. The sores/rash come and go in different areas.

WildT, that is wonderful to hear! I feel bad asking you too many questions, (you know a "but" is coming) but has MO said Arimidex is out too? You may respond better to it as it is a bit different from Aromasin. Ok, I will be quietnow.

lover, the hike was good. "Strange" how these just"happen". Didn't know that this group is made of of a lot of Christian ladies, not exclusive at all, but on Fridays, we sit outdoors on blankets and discuss a bible verse. They have organized things Tuesday through Saturday, and Friday is the only day they do that. I usually hike with them on Wednesdays so I had no idea. Hike was good, hard hard hill at end. These ladies didn't know about my situation, during our blanket time she told the group. The looks on their faces...I just cracked up laughing. I have a tag line, ....I am not in an exclusive club, we are will die, don't hold on so tight.....then everyone started laughing cause the way I say it. Whewwwww, don't like awkward moments.

Still playing with Claire and Elena....

Loverly, We had a cat at the shelter with skin allergies. She had rubbed her face raw and rubbed her whiskers down to nubs. She looked very strange. She was very sweet, which was her saving grace. Looking at her, you could really empathize.

Thanks all for the kind thoughts and prayers. Had BMX yesterday morning, home by noon today. Not painful, just uncomfortable with 4 drains to manage and some soreness. Is a nerve block standard practice for mastectomy? The anesthesiologist came by and offered it. I wasnt too keen on 2 additional needle pokes (cause I'm a big baby) but my husband & sister were nodding their little heads up and down so worried I'd be in massive pain. It turned out great though, zero pain when I woke up. Have only taken a few pain pills since, pain has not been over a 2 or 3. I know Im not supposed to reach up but the sideways reaching is surprisingly painful.

Cartoony balloons are adorable, reminds me the Macy parade.

Lovery thanks for the wishes and the advice about sweet quiet little Shep

jeanq. Glad you are doing so well. I had no idea they could / would do a nerve block. That's amazing. They certainly didn't do that back in 2002. Simply wonderful ! Take it easy and heal.

Susan. Glad you are enjoying your playmates. What a cool group you are part of. Love your LIVING life. Keep on keeping on.

I had a pretty good day. Back is still sore from hospital stay. But confident I'll be back to psin free in a day or so.

Hope all our ladies in hurricane areas are doing ok

Susan, wonderful that you had a good hike. It is a bonus to have people in our lives who share the common thread (wait is that tautology?) . I do believe that we cross path with different people for a reason. I have always love your attitude about life. Did you know that I was an atheist at one time in my life? Was also agnostic. Raised in a Buddhist ancestor worship family. I could not stand Christians. I thought of Christians as hypocrites. Now, when I travel outside of the States, I get excited when I run into one. Hah!

Ms. Wren, poor kitty. I presume someone adopted the sweet girl.

JeanQ, good thing you got the nerve block. I was not offered it either. I am happy to hear that you woke up with no pain and your pain now is manageable. Makes a different when you don't have to deal with tissue expanders. I hated the drains, but knew that they were there for my benefit. Hoping that you don't have them for long. First shower was heavenly. Oh the things we take for granted. Oh, I am sorry I don't think I remember to tell you about the toradol or nerve block thread-- how these two drugs could help prevent recurrence. Anyway, so glad you got the nerve block. ShepK, forgot to tell you I don't expect a response. Need to rest your

sensitive. Glad to see your post. Jump in anytime or lurk. Just glad to hear from you.

Susan. My that cake looks scrumptious ! I imagine it is a white cake with a strawberry jelly middle. Pass me a BIG piece please. Are you worn out from your playtime yesterday? Are you grandma, nanna, mama etc ???? Did you get pics with the newest dress on ? Looks like we had mx same year. I was 31. How bout you? I too love your attitude about life look for your post.

Lovely. Don't even think it !! You do NOT talk to much. Love seeing your post also. And pics are priceless. They always seem to pick me up when I need it. Thanks ! Would have never expected to hear anything except you are \ were a Christian.

I had a hard time sleeping last night. Darn back pain. Still believing it will Go away in a day or so, now that I am home from hospital. Finally went to sleep sometime after 1 am. Woke up at 3 still sitting upright in chair. Went to couch and finally got back to sleep. Woke up again at 5am. Figure I'll just get up and see wat y'all are up to.

Hi everyone, catching up as I drink coffee and listen to the news.

Junie, I printed and shared the Lime and Avocado mini muffin recipe with a couple people who are gluten free. Your kindness is appreciated! I'm sorry about the hair loss SE. :( I was shocked to read your Rheumatologist is 55 miles away. Are all your docs that distance?

Sensi, Happy for you for your last treatment coming up!

Jazzy, Don't know if you'll see this, because I know you'll be going off grid, but the balloon pics were fantastic!! I hope your trip is fun and not hard on you physically.

Jean, I hope you are healing well, physically and emotionally. Hugs!

Susan, your work is beautiful. Lucky girl to be so fashionable!

Patty, I'm glad you are home, but wish you were able to sleep. I hope the back pain eases.

    Shep, How are you doing?

Loverly, You are so kind and giving. You do not talk too much, you offer kindness and support. Speaking of which, you are sweet to offer to help by talking to oncologist at church. The SE cartoons were fantastic! You can ask me anything. :) Yes, I am going to discuss another AI with my MO, but I know right now he wants to make sure my SE's were from the meds. He mentioned one patient that went off meds, but pain continued and it ended up being some form of arthritis. I don't think that's the case with me, but I understand that he wants to isolate things before moving forward. How was the get together with the women? How did your stomach handle the food?

Friday night I took my kids to a high school football game. I don't think I've watch HS football since my days..over 30 years ago. My son enjoyed it, but my daughter was bored. Last night I rocked my Saturday night by going to home depot and getting furnace filters and then getting a few groceries. I've been awake for hours, so I suppose I should get my but moving. Lots of chores await me.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Jean ~ Such a short hospital stay! Glad they were looking out for your pain. May the power of all our healing thoughts and prayers quickly and painlessly speed your recovery. FYI Loverly is the naughty one... don't believe her. Still scarred from seeing her picture of that nasty snail head woman.... 😵

Jazzy ~ Beautiful shots of the balloons. Never knew they could come in so many designs. The fish in the top hat cracked me up! Yippee New York City! I had a fantastic day beboping around The Village when I was 16.... 1982ish? Went to an awesome vintage clothing shop where I bought a way glam 40's evening gown.... black with hand stiched silver beads. Highlight was brunch at an old Jazz club called Sweet Basil's. The girl singing was excellent and was backed by Billie Holiday's band. Very 😎

Sensi ~ Big cheers for nearing the end of chemo 🎉🙌 Hope your arm continues to heal.... fast!

WildT - I am glad some of your friends will be able to enjoy the Lime/Avocado muffin recipe. I had an opportunity to try them and they are delicious, so don't discount the recipe for yourself.

My MO, Palliative Care and the lymph edema therapist are here in Salem, but the other 6 doctors are in the Portland area. Hence, the 55 mile distance. I am on two waiting lists for income based housing in a town called Wilsonville, OR. It is 30 miles closer and has public transportation 6 days a week, which Salem does not. The wait list for those complexes are 1) 3 years and 2) 18-24 months. So we'll see how that works out.

Sensi - I hope you are having a comfortable weekend. Hug Chance for me please.

Loverly - I cannot even wrap my head around the thought that you were once an atheist, agnostic, etc. So awesome what God can do for us.

Shep - Doing any better today?

The leaves here in the Willamette Valley are also changing and falling. Before long we'll just have the skeletal looking trees left for several months.

Internet & cable service went on the fritz earlier from bad weather. Awfully quiet without them. Anyway, I decided to bake some Oatmeal, Cranberry, Walnut cookies. Dang Nab it, I over baked them. but they are still edible. Fortunately I only made a dozen, so the rest of the dough is ready to finish baking tomorrow. So only I and you ladies will ever know. Shhh! no telling. ;0)

Well I'm gonna call it a night. Catch you all later. Sleep well.
