I forgot to post(I think). Eye doc figured a solution for my eye glass problem. The clip in the middle type glasses. He let me try his and it might work. This paper nose guard thing is so unsightly and bothersome.

Sas, sorry for the mistake. I need to start taking notes and writing down important info. Was planning on going out today to order the party favors. After that we are done except for the final payment. The rest falls on DD. Saw her last next and she is getting stressed. The last I heard, this one does not communicate well with me unless complaining about her sister, she was getting in contact with a photographer and still needed to see a florist. Mentioned having some extra lighting but the venue would put her in touch with that person. I'm rather enjoying sitting back and watching the parade go by. Still haven't heard the court date for the marriage. Oh well

this is Benjamin. He arrived last night by c-section. His mom, my niece from DH side, went in yesterday morning in labor, got a uterine infection, then had the surgery at 10 pm.Both are doing fine. He's 6-15 and 20". Lots of dark hair like his mom. Can't tell who he looks like yet.

Sorry I have been away for a while, but life got a bit busy. This weekend was the worst though, my stepdad's older brother passed away unexpectedly. It's been hard on me since the news came. Hadn't seen him in a while but I always asked about him when I talked to my relatives from that side

Hi Mommy, I am sorry to hear of another loss this year for you :(

Hi Enerva! You are one month behind my dear. Haha. How are you doing?

Hey Jazzy, how was your time with your friend? Is she the same friend in the photo you sent me a few months ago?

Ms. S, Benjamin has LOTS of hair. Another baby to spoil.

Sensi, you are feeling human yet

Susan, have a wonderful time with Elena. Please post pics of her. How are you feeling?

JunieB, if you continue your probiotics, don't forget to space two hours from the antibiotics. Feeling better?

Ms. Sas, soooo...did you fold the clean clothes nicely and separate them from the dirty clothes this time?

ShepK, do you have the time of surgery. Will pray for you and medical team. Kind of weird how we look forward to surgery. Are you ironing things out at home in preparation for the surgery? Soooo...did you adopt the kitty? I really like the new vet. He took time to explain and answer my questions. We started her on Wellness about 3 weeks ago (even though we still have 1/4 bag left of Eagle Pack). The fact that she responded to Apoquel means that she does have allergies. To what, who knows? Too bad she had a bad reaction to Apoquel. He said that it is possible that the cause of her allergies is environmental rather than food as food allergies is only in 10% of the cases. To me it is a 50/50 chance. She either has it or not . Environmental allergens is a tough one to pin point. We keep her indoors most of the times. The only time she is outside is during walks or when she needs to do her business. I seldom let her walk or run on grass as she likes to roll in stinky ground. I do notice that on windy days she is more itchy. She also sneezes. We will try Claritin and see how she does. I am thinking to go with building her immune system by continue with the probiotics start her on immune strengthen supplements. Some people break out in itchy rash when stressed. It makes me wonder if it also the case with her. The girl is always anxious on our walks or when we have visitors. Poor thing. Maybe I should put her back on Prozac.

WildT, we just do our best. We fight for our love ones. I love WenchLori's saying: "If I stop laughing,I will start crying." But, sometimes a good cry helps. Wishing you more days with sunshine. Hugs.

Kath, I have been thinking about you. Wedding planning can be stressful if you are the bride. It is good you are not a helicopter mom. Hah! My wayward DD ( nicked-name by ShepK) texted me yesterday she would like to have her nose pierced. My and DD2'sreaction:

Sassy - No surgery yet. I hope not at all. For now I am on Cipro & Flagyl for 10 days. Plus, I will be seeing my G.I. doctors P.A. in the morning, then again on Nov. 1st. So we'll see. In the meantime, MO stopped the Ibrance until antibiotics are done.

Smaarty - Congrats on your newest little cuddle bug.

Loverly - Yes, I am doing the probiotics, Thanks for the reminder to space them 2 hours apart. Cipro is 2 time a day & Flagyl is 3 times a day. Yeah ME!

Love the pic of you & DD2. So is DD1 going to have her nose pierced?

Poor Mitzy! Being itchy is sooooo frustrating. I sure hope the vet can find an answer to help her. Also, what shampoo do you use on her. Dr. Karen Becker has an organic, chemical free shampoo for animals on her site. She is associated with Dr. Mercola.

ShepK - How are you doing? I hope you're not too anxious about your surgery.

There is going to be a potluck here at the apartments tomorrow and I volunteered to do baked beans. So as I was prepping the ingredients and cleaning up I turned and took a step, and would you believe that after 28 days of my hip behaving, it dislocated and I came to a dead stop and stood there for a moment, then moved a little bit and it popped back in. Can I freaking catch a break here?

I do have to say though that the beans are starting to smell really good. Yummy. How am I going to sleep with that aroma in my apartment?

Sensi - Just checking on how you are doing.

Mommy2 - My condolences to you as well.

Kathindc - I can't even begin to imagine all that is involved with planning a wedding. Enjoy the Parade :0)

Susan - I don't know if you're doing any knitting lately, but just for info sake, I found a website (new to me) called KnitPicks.com. I ordered some yarn and it apears to be very nice yarn. Their prices are very good too. Their selection is quite extensive.

Well my eyes are really heavy. I couldn't get to sleep until 5 a.m. this morning and got up at 10 a.m. I'm pooped.

    Goodnight Ladies.

Awww Junie, wish I could transfer to you my scar adhesion genes. If the probiotics don't bother your tummy, maybe you can take them right before bedtime or in the middle of the night when u can't sleep. So important to restore the good bacteria.

It is funny how DD texted me rather than DH about the nose pierce. In her message I could sense half asking half declaring. She asked DD2 today if Daddy would be ok with it. Hah! I don't think so!! Her ears would be red from hearing him lectured. I hope this is just a REALLY short "trying to find herself" phase she is going through. It could be worse..,

Lover, that would be my reaction to the nose piercing. DDs have done their share of piercings. They went to Italy on a tour sponsored by their school. One came home with her belly button pierced. I picked up on it at the airport when they arrived home when her classmates were surrounding her and giggling. Tried to tell me nothing was going on, so out came the show me now. At that point, I just shook my head. They even got their tongues pierced. Our dentist was NOT thrilled with that. I wasn't too far behind him. If your DD is over 18, be forewarned tattooing may be on the horizon. Ours got tattoos as their 18th birthday gift to themselves. Lord, I'm shaking my head as I type this. Hubby isn't happy about them doing it. I'm not their but they were legally adults and have to live with their consequences. And both piercing and tattooing go back to the ancient civilizations. My hubby's jaw would twitch every time one of them did it. I got so I would just open my eyes real wide with a tilt of my head to ask without words but eventually he would see it. His reaction always amused me. Thank God mine don't look like that pic. LOL

Went today to get the wedding favors. I took a picture of it and sent it to DD and she thought it was awesome. Made me feel good because as she has gotten older our tastes are very different. Case in point, she sent me pics of the two invitations she was deciding between. Of course the one I picked was voted against by everyone she asked. I told her why did she even bother asking me. Got a good chuckle out of that. The things she is paying for I have let her handle. That way we are not head butting each other. I have to say, I got the easy part of it since the venue handles so much of the planning

Shep, keeping you in my prayers and thoughts that all goes well on Friday. You know this group just loves a pocket party.

JuneBug, glad your hip went back into place quickly.

    Susan, have fun babysitting.

Good morning friends- recovering from a busy few weeks with being out of town to Taos, then company coming right in a few days after. Several of you asked about the visit with my friend and we had a good time. She is an independent visitor, meaning I am not expected to take work off, drive her around, provide endless entertainment and meals. She has her own vehicle and spent time with her brother and family who also live here one day last weekend, as well as was off to Santa Fe on Monday on her own. Yay for good visitors, because I have had some bad ones in the past who do the other and it's too much. That being said, I was glad to have my house back on Tuesday morning!

One of the fun things we did during her visit was to make a visit to the NM State Fair. Lots of fun things to see, and do and eat! I eat pretty carefully these days so fair food is not something I indulge in, but my friend went for it and enjoyed a few treats. The picture below is of the winner this year for the best dessert- mini donuts with a warm maple glaze topped with bacon bits and green chili. They put green chili on everything here, the same way jalapenos go on everything in TX. I did have a taste of these and they were supper yummy. Sweet, salt and hot all in one bite!

Sending hugs to Mommy on the loss in her family and to Wildtulip on the cancerverary (it was 4 years yesterday that I got my dx and totally get this), to Sassy on her birthday (belated!), and wishing Shep a good surgery, JazzJune a good recovery, a whootie who to Patty and thinking of Mags too and wondering how she is doing. Love you all!

I am normally sleeping by this time in the morning, but at 4:30 a.m. I attempted to turnover in bed and the hip partially dislocated again, then as I was trying to decide if I needed to call for help it popped back. This is beyond annoying now. I "My Charted" (the patient portal) my Ortho. for advise. I'm so nervous now about whether I go to sit down anywhere or what, if it will pop out again. I'm starting to develop PTSD over this hip.

Well, back to bed, even if I don't get back to sleep. Besides, I have to be up soon anyway to get ready for G.I. appt.

    Hopefully I'll BBL.

In frantic surgery prep mode...... arghhhhh. I had gotten mired down in Funky Town after so many days of waiting. I should have been getting everything ready so I can access my clothes and dishes easily plus shoveling paths through the house so I won't bust my arse..... All those damned dropped shoes 😜 Oh well, I'm doing it all today. They won't have to give me any anesthesia - I'll just fall asleep tomorrow when I get there!

We left Marti's baby kitty friend at the vet for someone else to take home to love. I might have been more tempted if kitty had long fur..... FF and Miss Pris would not have been amused. Not ready to toilet train another critter just yet either.

JunieB ~ OMD! I've been praying as hard as I can....... you should only not only be fully healed but ten years younger too! Hmmm, maybe I need to make a ritual sacrifice of some of FF's football memorabilia in your name? I truly do very much admire you. You not only face unpleasantries with grace and positive attitude, you totally kick those bad things in the butt! All the while still worrying about others and making us all laugh 😁 Be well soon🌷

WildT & Jazzy ~ So many mixed emotions about "anniversaries". "Yay I'm not dead", "What next" and "Damn, I've got freakin' cancer".... Hallmark sure don't cover it. No perfect words so here's some (((hugs)))

Jazzy ~ I totally would let that big kitty in my house..... he looks sooo sad :(

Loverly ~ eeeeew...... Those stupid giant gross things in the earlobes!!! I can't stand to look at them! So disturbing and make my stomach queasy. I don't like piercings anyway, those plugs in the ears are the worst to look at. I hope DD1 doesn't do anything that would ruin her pretty face. All I can think of is all the ways of those things can get infected. Stupid step-son wanted to do his ears and lip when he graduated high school. I showed him pictures of how those piercings would look if he ever changed his mind about having them. He for some reason thought the skin would heal if he took the hardware out. He is a good boy that has had a lifelong lack of common sense. Thankfully he did not maim his face and now that he is older is very glad he didn't do it. Good luck 🍀

M0mmy ~ So sorry for you loss. May you have less sorrow and stress in the days ahead.

Smaarty ~ That muffin recipe looks good but.... how many people is it for? Yikes! That's a lotta stuff there! Evie has some legs on her! Another pretty little ballerina in the making for us all to be charmed with? Can't believe she is 8 months so soon. Not too long before she is walking and talking (and running!) Little Benjamin of the Beatrix Potter Quilt? He is dashing young man already with those lovely dark locks💕

Feline ~ Yes! We need more of your travel pics!

    Enerva ~ "Hey!"

Susan ~ I knew that last week was your treatment but for some reason I was thinking your time with Elena was last weekend. I knew that wasn't right! Yay for lots of playtime! How has your breathing been? Have you had the heart tests yet? Hoping that the results show your are just naturally slowing down to a normal adult speed - normal adult cheetah that is! 🐅

Patty ~ Hoping you are still feeling good and having fun! So sweet DS shared the stories of the school dance with you. Isn't it funny to see our little boys turning into young men ? Did I see somewhere that you wrote about your husband having a Camaro? What year? Pics please! I drive a Classic Jeep now but used to have Camaros - love 'em.

Kath ~ Older twin, taller twin... kids are silly😃 Wedding is coming up fast! Cool beans to be part of the plans without having to do the planning. Sounds like it will be so glam and fun!

Sassy ~ Donnie being a good boy? Still cracking up about his clothes going to the garage front.... and not over the fence😅 Hope you can get those new glasses soon. Funny, was thinking about being "Shep" and not "me". I never had a nickname before; I like it :)

Queenie ~ Update on pending re-education?

Wren ~ I am a member of the big head club too 😃

Lookie ~ still traveling? How many feet of snow ya'll got up there 😉

Wenchie ~ Talk Like A Pirate Day is this coming Monday. Hope your up to some plundering and pillaging 🎉

Mags ~ How is your Rose? Hate when our fur babies hurting. Hoping she is doing better and snuggling with you and baby kitty. Prayers for your jaw to stop being so painful 🙏

Sensi ~ Thinking of you and Mr. Chance ♥

JeanQ ~ Hoping all is well

    Meadow ~ "Hello"

Eeyore ~Keep looking for you to blow back in 🍃

HiHo ~ sending happy thoughts and healing wishes your way.....

Big Hugs to All ~ So excited to be finally hosting a party - Thank you ladies for offering to hop in my pocket tomorrow, glad I won't be going it alone. If one of ya'll could keep an eye out for any potential of more shite being left in my spine I'd be much obliged 💝

See you on the flip side!

ShepK: thank you for hosting the party. Sending good vibes from Hawaii for your operation tomorrow. It is sunny now, but 5 hours ago we were waken up by weather warnings. Two days in a roll we got flash floods in the morning (2 to 4 inches rain per hour), then the sun shines again in the afternoon. Hope we will see the full moon tonight, because tonight is the Chinese Moon Festival, the whole family is supposed to be together (like Thanksgiving ), and thus we are visiting DS here.

    Hi everyone

Shep wishing you the best tomorrow and hoping you have a pain free recovery. We had a short get away to the mountains, but are back home,.

It is in the mid seventies here , so no snow .

Junie wish that hip would stay in place, you have had a rough time lately. I got the app for the Missouri Star Quilt Co and really enjoy the tutorials, thank you for that information.

Loverly my daughter had her nose pierced when she was 18, she also has a couple of tattoos. She has not

joined any biker gangs so all is well, don't worry.

    Happy birthday Sas.

Eeyore I would love to be in Hawaii now, enjoy yourself and have fun at your Chinese Moon Festival.

Enjoying the baby pictures, Susan you granddaughter is a delight.

I spent part of the day in the garden harvesting my vegetables, the slugs are eating my carrots, beets and tomatoes. I didn't spend much time trying to get rid of them in August because of my reconstruction surgery. I had drains in for 4 weeks and was very glad when the last one came out. I went for anotherfill this afternoon and it is going very well no pain or discomfort.

Jazzy - Yes, on Epic's - My Chart. Ortho responded with what I figured they would. That it is still a waiting game on how my hip behaves. They are not willing to consider any further surgery until I'm 6 mos. from the last one. Plus, now with the Diverticulitis, my infection risk is sky high. So, I just have to continue to be as careful as possible. But I did decide to actually wear the brace they gave me now. I had a G.I. appt. today and I had that thing on all day, despite it being in the 80's.

Shep - You are soooo in prayer for tomorrow! Hope you're able to sleep tonight after all that shoveling today :0)

Lookie - Thank you, and I'm so glad you're enjoying the tutorials. I'll be looking forward to seeing your posted pics of some finished projects.

Jazzy - I have 8 more days of antibiotics, but I am feeling better. The first time I had it, I didn't know why I had the abdominal pain and waited 4-5 days before going to the doctor. This time I knew (or was pretty sure) what it was and went immediately. So the infection didn't get as bad as before.

Oh my...I'm so far behind! I'm trying to catch up, but my apologies to those I don't name personally. I do love keeping tabs, even if I'm not posting.

Shep! My thoughts and heart are with you as you head into surgery and recovery. Sending hugs and calming energy your way. You said it perfectly about the "anniversaries." Such a mix, and no good words, but the hug helped..thank you!

Kath, My children were both around 12 inches when born..don't remember exactly, but my DD just isn't going to grow anymore. She's about 4' 7" and has been dx with short stature, due to abnormal puberty, due to premature birth. I was told my DS would only get to be about 5' 4", and he is now over 5' 5", so I'm happy he's proving doc wrong. I keep telling him, Momma needs someone to reach stuff!

Smaarty, Wow Benjamin sure has a lot of hair!!

Loverly, Thank you for the compliment on my skin a couple pages back. I do tend to stay out of the sun, but genetics have a role too. I certainly can't tell you have spent time in the sun..you look beautiful! That is a fun picture of your piercing news faces.

Junie, I hope your hip has behaved today.

Jazzy, Hugs back to you with your cancerversary. I'm glad you've been having fun. I was hoping to go to our state fair this year, but that was weekend I got sick. Probably better for me that I didn't go..I don't know that I could resist certain foods the way that you did.

Mommy, sorry for your loss. Hugs!

I've really been struggling with pain in my feet the last two days. I had some mild neuropathy with chemo, and I guess the AI I'm on can cause the heavy, painful feeling, so I'm not really sure of the actual cause. Anyway, it's gotten worse the last couple of days after working more this week. It just plain hurts to put pressure on my feet, and I couldn't walk today without limping. I feel like I need to get a different job, for my health, but right now I'm stuck. Working for the same district as my kids allows me to be available to them..before school, after school, breaks and summers. I'm thankful I have flexibility as a sub, but my dept is so short staffed that I feel pressure to work. So far I've only committed to working three days next week..really trying to find a balance. I am taking tomorrow off, sort of. I'm going to the chiro and getting my oil changed. I'm also meeting with my boss briefly, basically because I've been training in a new person and I'm going to ask for more money for the times I'm responsible for training people. I think the end of chemo anniversary hit me because I remember at that time being so excited to be done, and looking forward to getting back to myself. Now, one year later I'm still not there. I'm still deformed (in the midst of reconstruction) and dealing with med side effects. It makes me sad that I was so optimistic, and although there have been changes, not enough progress for me. I also remember at that last chemo treatment the NP almost didn't go through with treatment. She tried to assess my neuropathy, based on what I was saying, and weighed the pros/cons of the treatment vs the damage. I was relieved when she went ahead, because of wanting to do everything possible to make sure I was rid of cancer. Now, I wonder if it was the right decision, but I know I'll never really know.
