hi Sensi, was thinking about you this morning. Remember that the drains are our friends. Be good to yourself. Reading? How's your pup?

Where's Purple, did we scare her off?

So Wrench, what do you do?

I suspect she was Jazzy. Especially since I talked about her cats and her pranks. Towards the end of my speech, I started feeling the tears coming but I made it through and got back to my seat in the rear of the class before I let go.

God help if I have to go to the hospital for anything and I get that nurse, I'd be running the other way in the hospital gown flapping in the wind behind me

    Shocked

When we bought this house 5 years ago, I bought 2 Tiffany rose bushes, bare root, at Sam's. Made the mistake of planting them out front where I never go. One of them died, but the other – I cut 3 long stems today. They are the most fragrant (actually won a prize for fragrance) like sticking your face in a bowl of fresh raspberries with a little clove tossed in. Pink shades to cream centers. y favorite.

Loverly- I am working with a team of seven providers on my project; 4 men and 3 women. None of the men look like that! LOL!

However, I have probably shared this story here before about when my mother had her stroke some 12 years ago. She was in ICU and her neurologist came in the next morning and he looked just like Antonio Banderas. My sister and I just stopped in our tracks when he walked in the room. My mother always judged men based on their looks but did not seem to notice him that much.

The one time she has a movie star looking guy in her presence and couldn't appreciate it! We did however!

Smaarty: Nope, haven't dove into reading yet. Still been catching up on my DVR. Had a short outing with sister today and came home and napped two hours.  Still easily tired, but doing pretty darn good otherwise.

In other good news. Pathology came back today.  No other cancer was found in the L breast. Tumor ended up being 7mm not 6, but still caught very early (Thank you grandma). No lymph nodes involved.  R side Prophylactic was clear besides a haratoma.  Only thing that BS said was that I could technically be considered a triple negative because my ER+ is only 8%.  They normally don't start Tamoxifen until 9%.  Will have to have that discussion with MO (referral has been made). I'll be interested to see if they feel if I need any further treatment. BS says probably not, but will have to see.

Welcome to the ladies that have joined this great group of ladies.  I lurk and occasionally post. Love all the baby pics

WenchLori-love it. As bad as it may sound, my dad used that term in a sort of "loving" way. So your name, brings back some good/funny memories of him ;)

    Welcome, Lori! Love your name!

I found a source for you; I just bought my Cecile Brünner from them and it is thriving, already has buds, just got it last week. Good people.

    Heirloom Roses - Tiffany

Off to bed, haven't gotten more than an hours' sleep the last two nights but wasn't awake enough to post. Got to sleep.

    Mama Mia, ShepK!

    image

Jazzy, considered yourself blessed the providers whom you work with can afford to buy scrubs or bottoms that stay on. Now, when you go to work tomorrow, try not to picture the providers half dressed like the men above. Stay focus.

I am surprised that Mema hasn't come out yet to say something.

Sensi, for the good news. I remember I would drain more when I moved my arms a lot. Not sure if it's the same for you. Take it easy.

Mags, is the Tiffany even more fragranced than the Double Delight?

Ms. Sas, how is your derrière?

JunieB, are you still in search of that blanket? Hope you are just busy getting ready for surgery next month

Myra, you sound so much better compared to the last time you were here. Amazing how QOL shifts when the right drug is found.

BTW, ShepK, hope your appointment went well.

My mom gave me pieces of a plant recently, thought there was a lot of pieces, but when I transplanted them, it turned out to be half a dozen in a good sized pot. Now I am trying to find a small version of the same plant to fill in the middle of the pot where its bare.

Sas I get sick of myself and maybe this board can be a bit depressing when I'm in a funk...which has been a lot in the last few years. I always come back though, although a little scared to see who is still here and who is not.

The 4, I mean, 3 kids and 1 husband and two jobs thingy sorta get in the way.

I was on 20mg of temazepam for a while but came off about a month ago...last night was my worst with 3hrs of sleep.

Today's my daughters 8th birthday and we have another monkey running around.

So that's a good taste of my life.

I heard some great news about no cancer in lymph nodes, whoop whoop!!!❤️

    White hair?? Let me see

Loverly, That was a lovely pic of your Mom. She has such a kind face. You look very much like her. Do your sister look like her too? Sorry I can't remember is she still with you? I know your dad .....Any word about tests yet? Are the pfttt over?

Purple, Hmmm this should be the beginning of the chitty time? I caught the " I did manage to not take ativan or my beta blocker at bedtime (discovered mistake by OCD inspection of just-filled pill" Does that mean you take a beta blocker dose at bedtime or you use it for sleep. The OCD nurse here. Hugs

Sensi, hope you are feeling better too. How are the drains? There is a whole unsolved controversy that has been going on for > a decade about drains. Hell controversy about everything in all fields of medicine is millennia standard. Hugs

Shep, I may be back at 2d6 today. I need to follow up on a thing you asked. Thank you for getting that thread going again. I've finally learned my absolute priority is to come here first before my housekeeping threads and politics.

    JUNIE HOOTIE HOOOOOOOOooooooooo

Susan have you come up for air? How's Elena? Did I get her name right? BTW what's the backstory on her name? My real name is both grandma's My twin was supposed to get a grandma name too, but the person writing her birth certificate screwed up and instead of Bea she wrote Bee. Sister Sue hates it. Ilike your description of rock head, haven't heard that before :)

Smarrty Evie pics? Evie doing well? Did you see that thing I wrote about the Christmas tree? I get so mushy every time I look at the 'things ' on the tree. You were going to post a pic of DGS with his new leg. How's he doing with the pain. Has his brain unlearned the signals yet?

Hi1, the FATIGUE BOLLICKS it. Bollicks is one of the worst swear words in English english. It's equivalent to the "F"word. But since few understands it here, we can use it without impunity. If you say it around an English person be prepared for a stark reaction LOL.

Feline, Some of the hospitals regionally practice multidisciplinary approach. The best here is a rehab hospital. It's a full blown hospital regional head& spinal trauma and stroke. If it weren't an hour+ in each direction I would have worked at it in a nanosecond. I never saw a hospital that was run so well. I'll give them a plug. Seapines. My own facility bragged of it, and we had the round table, but I didn't see that it translated too outcome as I observed at Seapines. Are you worn out on W&F's? I understand if you are. After so many months it can become a chore versus fun.

Lookie, we sent a singular helicopter? I really don't know if that's appropriate to the scenario. Seems very little and yet might be big, dunno. Glad you aren't in the midst of it. Do they do controlled burns in Canada? Florida is very big into them. It can be trouble though when they get out of control.

Sensi, I fell down on the drain thing. They may be out by now. If not you can strip or milk the line. If they are still in google YouTube and see if they have a film.

Shep I could tell you about OR stories, but some I just can't even after almost 40+ years. One though I can. in gas gangrene cases, we had to strip to our underwear wrap in a blanket and toddle down the hall to the shower. Only now thought that slipping into a patient gown could have been done before the blanket. LOL too late!

Mags, your rose is beautiful. You describe the scent so well. like a fine wine :)

Jazzy, Dr Banderas sounds yummy. I agree it was too bad that Mom didn't get to appreciate him. Darn.

Sensi, Chit on the hormones.Chit on being borderline on the ER+ and treatment decision. It was the same way for me with RAI 131 with the thyroid ca. Bummer. The treatment caused way more trouble than the cancer.

Myra, I agree with Loverly that you sound much better than last visit. Love the way you refer to the 4 kids. Men really are so much like kids. Donnie DBF and I are still together. 4 years this month. It's very nice. Haven't thrown his clothes over the fence in a couple of years now LOL. Yes, it's tough to come back and see folks gone. When I look through old threads for something and I know what has happened to some dear sisters it is saddening. But I say a prayer and remember them.

Loverly, scope went fine. One polyp. Snip, snip, burn. Diprivan instead of versed. It was great. Missed the versed though. I LOVE versed' s relaxtion quality. So nice on sore muscles.

NEWS FLASH. This may be old news to some. Yesterday I saw for the first time the infrared vein finder. It's on a tripod with a long adjustable arm. It has about a 3by3 field exposure. It's light is directed over an area of skin. You can see ALL the blood vessels. Because you can see them a tourniquet doesn't need to be used. Vein scarring and valves can be seen and avoided.

I had my lovely nurse Marilyn do a whole tutorial. I so would have loved to of had it when I was practicing.

A biggy for me is to be able to take this to the port thread I mentor. Discussion periodically occurs about whether to have a port when only one round(4) of adjuvant chemo is the plan. I was refused a port, but not without a strong discussion.

I only had one single chemo b/c of complications. In that one chemo it took 3 nurses 5 sticks to get a vein. Some chemo extravasated (leaked). That vein where the extravasation occurred has always looked dark even though it's been 7years. The infrared showed that vein and the smaller veins extending from it as shriveled and almost hairy. I'm not describing it well, but the area was very visibly different. Also, unusable.

Wouldn't of happened had I had a port.

so this is DGS, 6 mos out. He's doing great, can drive again, now helping his BIL with lawn jobs. He needs to use a cane or one crutch to get around. The lawn mower is a good substitute ! 😜 He also got himself a dog which is also an amputee

    image

Evie got exposed to chicken pox last weekend as well as some of the other kids. They are my sisters grandkids. Her 6 yo came down with them even tho he'd been vaccinated. He goes to a private school so the vaccination rules apparently don't apply there. So Evie probably isn't going to get them, she was asleep the whole time in her stroller. But a 11 month old who's to young to be vaccinated and 3 yo brother who may not have been yet and the 5 yo who moms been too slow to get her vaccinated will probably get them. What a pain for the kids. Everybody is keeping their fingers crossed.
