This is what I finished today and from the class on Saturday.

    Hello Ladies,

Have been busy with housekeeping, laundry etc. Also finished knitting crib blanket.

Fatigue has been challenging me as well.

Susan - What a funny story about waiting for Elena to be born. Since I've never had children, on average, how many times does a baby need to be changed in 24 hrs.

Jazzy - Glad your week is going great.

Loverly - As far as I can remember, when I had my mastectomy I had a drain in and the doctors and P.T.'s wanted me to lift my arm so my shoulder wouldn't freeze up. They gave me exercises of walking my fingers up a wall until I felt a bit of a stretch and then back off. Then I was supposed to do that a little bit higher each time to get my range of motion back to original. They also had me hold an ice pack under my arm for 10 min. after I was done. I never had much of a problem with lymph edema until now. Probably because of the treatments. I just wear my compression sleeve if the swelling gets too much and I have that burning sensation in my underarm.

Mags - Is that a light green in the pic of the room with the door open showing the BBQ? I'll bet your looking forward to the completion.

    Sas - Pretty little ramekin.

Sensi - Hope you have a great time in Portland. You can wave as you fly over or drive by Salem. The Doggy Dash is happening in Portland on May 14th and I'm renting a car so I can attend. There'll be thousands of dogs and hoomans. Fun day.

Before I sat down to make this post I had put a sheet of cookies into the oven. I'm reading everyone's posts and forgot about them until I started to smell the just beginning to burn cookies. Whew, got to them just before they became inedible.

JazzyJune- I am sorry you are feeling fatigued. Is it from anything you are doing, like infusions or just a general malaise? I still get fatigue sometimes too. I hope you feel better, sounds like you are focusing on simple things at home where perhaps you can rest?

I've had a busy week of painting, finally done. Yesterday we white washed our fireplace, I really like it. We also stripped and stained the mantel, and also restrained the wood floor. I'll post pictures when we put the area rug back in the Room, it looks a little dark right now. My husband isn't as gung ho doing projects as I am, but he is very pleased with the outcome. We are still waiting for our countertops , maybe in another two weeks. I still have no oven or dishwasher. I asked to have the oven hooked up, and that will be done this week.

Smaarty your pillow looks wonderful, I wish I had access to classes like that.

Junie your crib blanket is a sight to behold, I've got 1 1/2 inches of another hand warmer knitted. It is becoming much easier. Someday I may knit like you and Susan. I am sorry to hear about the fatigue, it must be very challenging for you.

Jazzy your weekend sounded like a lot of fun. I did do go a yoga class a few weeks ago, the room was very hot and I really struggled . I seem to overheat very easily since my treatment, I don't know if it is from the tamoxifen . I never had this problem before, I may go for acupuncture for the hot flashes. I read that it mighthelp.

Dropping in to say hello. . .

D3 discussion - five years ago my bone loss on annual was so significant PCP increased cal/mag combo. Proposed I go to a no soy 10,000 IU daily vs a once a week 50,000 IU, they agreed. Combo has helped with bone loss and bone pain in hips. Osteo runs in family. After dx bc changed PCP and they increased me to 13,000 IU every other day and 10,000 IU on the off days.

Finding the right blood result number for D3 is best regulated by testing every three months to plot you in the range desired.

BCM-95 Curcumin is also a significant pain reducer. Adjust dose to work with your immune system.

Having blood tests run for all vitamin and supplement levels is best to baseline and monitor every six months.

Wishing everyone reduced pain days ahead.

Shep nice to see you , are you up for some rabble rousing tonight. Hope you have recovered from your Zometa infusion.

Hey Lookie! Not sure about rabble rousing.....maybe I can kick a few pebbles though :) Zometa didn't hit me as hard this time as it has others. I did sleep most of Saturday though. At least I only have it every 3 months now - I was getting it every month for the 1st year and a half.

Hot flashes are the worst! I was pre-menopause when I was dx'd three years ago. I was on Tamoxifen for 2 years, which pushed me into menopause.......and started the darned hot flashes. I take Peridin C and it has helped tremendously. The National Cancer Institute recommends it on their website. The best price for it is on Amazon. I take Femara now instead of Tamoxifen. The hot flashes aren't as bad but I still take the Peridin C.

Shep - What is Peridin C? Glad your Zometa treatment was kind to you this time.

Jazzy - The fatigue is from the Ibrance that I'm taking. Usually I have 1 or 2 days during my 7 days off that I'm really tired, but it seems that it is kicking my butt in midstream right now.

Yoga_girl - My endocrinologist only checks my Vit. D once a year and it is usually at best 39. I've read that an optimal count is between 50 - 80. I take 50,000 IU of D2 twice a week, plus I take 6 sprays daily of D3. I've read D3 is more easily absorbed by the body than D2, but my taking Omeprazole makes it difficult for me to absorb as much as I really need anyway.

By the time my PCP at the time realized I might be deficient, I'd had several broken bones, and my count was at 10.

Goodnight Ladies, Hope you all sleep well. I'm off to bed too.

JunieB ~ The blanket is beautiful. How will you do the label? What a special keepsake for baby Clark!

I am terrible about remembering to take things out of the oven! When DS was still living at home, I would mix up the cookies and he would do the baking. He has great cookie sense and never burns them. (sigh)

Peridin-C is made by Beutlich Pharmaceuticals and is safe to use if you are ER+. "The main ingredients in Peridin-C are Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid), Natural Citrus Bioflavnoids Complex (as Hesperidin Complex standardized to contain 45% total bioflavonoids), Natural Citrus Bioflavnoid (as Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone)" The dose for hot flashes is 2 tablets 3 times daily. It really does help. HIgh doses of vitamin C are supposed to help fight off cancer cells too. Bonus; my damaged hair is now healthy and growing like crazy!

Does your MO have you taking any bisphosphonates? The Zometa strengthens bones and helps block the mets from getting worse. When taken while on Tamoxifen it helps prevent hyper-calcium in the blood. Not sure if that's an issue with other Estrogen blockers. D3 deficiency seems to be common among us all.....

I hope your fatigue eases up :( Can you take something for a "boost"? I would be comatose without Provigil. It's not an amphetamine and doesn't have caffeine; no jitters or feeling wired. For Fibromyalgia it also takes away that awful all over flu-like body aching.

Mags ~ Were you able to find your easel and palette? You must be so excited to be almost finished with the new room!

    Smaarty ~ Gorgeous pillow!

So many talented ladies here; artists, knitters, quilters, stitchers......love seeing the pics of all your creations.

Yoga_girl ~ good info on the supplements. No soy is important. I try to get all my supplements in tablet form as most gel tabs have soy.

    Sas ~ Get some rest!

Peaceful sleep and happy dreams to all :)

    Hello everyone!

First time posting on this board, but I've found a great friend in Sassy from the other boards, and decided to pop over here on her recommendation to check it out. Sounds like you ladies have some real fun over here.

I absolutely HAVE to vent a bit. I don't hate anyone.....but I must say I deeply dislike whoever it was who invented video games. Our house is very small....son's bedroom door about 5 feet across hall from ours. My son woke me up laughing and yelling at some video game at 2:30 am and it is now 5:15 am. Closed my bedroom door.....but I could still hear him. DH is sleeping on couch since his ICD placement last Friday....don't know how this isn't waking him up too. My exchange surgery is only 3 sleeps away (Thursday) but I need to actually sleep to get there! It's been quiet for about 20 minutes now so hopefully my son has gone to bed, so maybe it's time to try sleeping again. Once I get some sleep and energy.....tomorrow I kick his butt!!

Positive thoughts and wishes for a good night's sleep to all....and to all a goodnight!

    Cyber hugs......

Good morning friends- we made it through Monday, now on to Tuesday.

    AnnieKay- welcome to our thread!

JazzyJune- sorry the Ibrance is kicking your butt. Hoping you feel stronger as the week goes on.

Lookingforward- was the yoga class advertised as "hot yoga?" This is the new westernized trend of yoga that is more around creating a more detoxing aerobic effect, which is not what yoga is about. I go to a gym that has some very good hatha yoga that is room temp and the yoga studio where I did the workshop offers room temp, warm and hot yoga. I can do the first two, but hot yoga is a killer for us middle aged women on anti-hormones! You might want to look for a hatha class because you won't find those to be to be too warm.

Got lots going on today and must get to work earlier. Wishing everyone a good day! Attached is a photo of the red claret cactus bloom from my garden.

Funny about the diapers. Newborns can go through 80+ diapers a week. My youngest are 35 and to this day I vividly remember my husband's reaction to finding out we were having twins. After half an hour of not saying anything, he finally asked how many diapers we went through with our son. When I told him we initially went through 80 a week there was a pause and after he thought about it his reaction was 160 diapers a week! Yup, and then some. I used a diaper service back in the day. It was cheaper than the disposables.

Must apologize for not sending timely birthday and anniversary wishes. I lost the thread and it took a while for me to realize it.

Elena is a cutie. Love the picture of Claire looking down at her.

babies poops and pees....we are not done with first week of life...so who knows...who remembers. Doc said first week is counted by days...2nd day 2 pees, 3 rd day 3 and so on. After that.....whatever. If there is a poop contest...Elena wins hands down. She is sing weight....I don't know how with her put out. But she sure is happy ....no tummy probs here.

Awesome pillow and blanket . No time to knit here....lol

Jazz June, hope you are feeling better. I was just changed to zometa every third month instead of every. That's good for me. My body never adjusted. Still very uncomy with zometa. But now it's only going to be every third....yeah me

Have a good day everyone :)

need to vent...don't know why My kids act like idiots sometimes. So disrespectful. We don't raise them that way. Don't know where it went wrong. I am trying so hard to stay out of their way. I make them breakfast in the morning then take off to sit at a coffee shop so they have alone time. Make lunch, hold Elena while they shower, get dinner ready. I make sure I am back downstairs by 7 or 8 at night so I again am not in there way. Friends come by everyday, I entertain them while Claire is feeding or pumping then disappear downstairs so they can be with their friends. So tonight friends came over with dinner, and I was never invited upstairs to eat. It's 9 o'clock here, and I still haven't had dinner. I need to stop crying and kick their butts. But I don't want to upset them with the new baby here

Ok...done venting.. Going to take a Valium. Night night.

Susan- I am sorry about you not getting dinner. It is very stressful trying to help the new parents and then let's face it, we need our meals! I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Kathinc- oh boy twins! I have watched a few friends go through that. How old are your twins now?

Another day of fatigue.....ugh! I've been a total slug today. Got home from vestibular clinic yesterday afternoon and laid on the couch and fell asleep. Woke up around 9:00 p.m., then went to bed about 2:00 a.m. and slept until 10:30 a.m. The only things I accomplished today is a shower and brunch. What a waste of a day.

Susan & Kathindc - Yikes! that's a lot of diapers. New parents might want to consider buying stock in a diaper company.

Susan - Sorry your not getting the respect you deserve, especially since you are going out of your way to be respectful of your kids.

Shep - Thanks for the info on the Peridin C. I wonder if any Vit. C supplement will work the same? I get vitamins that are certified non-gmo & soy free. Garden of Life, Dr. Mercola & Thorne Reseach are all good brands.

I see the MO on Thursday. I get Xgeva for bone stregthening every 3 months.

The yellow knitted crib blanket isn't for Clark, it's for the diaper bag set I'm making to sell. I did a quilt with a jungle animal babies theme for little Clark.

Clark was born last Friday by the way. Unfortunately there were some complications during the birth and he had to be taken by ambulance to OHSU up in Portland to the NICU. He was having seizures right after birth, due to the way he struggled to pass through the birth canal. Apparently he had a lot of bruising from hitting his mom's pelvic bone while being born. They probably should have done a C-section, according to his Grandmother. He was being fed breast milk through a tube in his nose, but is now taking a bottle. He is also on seizure meds. Hopefully he won't be left with a lifetime of dealing with them.

    Guess that's all for now.

Jazzy it wasn't hot yoga , they do offer it . It was just a very hot room, at least for me. Tonight I went to a meeting for urban pole walking, the recreation dept of the city has different areas of the city set up for groups to go for an hour walk once a week. They also supply the poles. I didn't know they were walking tonight and had to leave becauce I wasn't dressed warm enough, I was freezing . lol can't win.

Annie welcome, hope everything goes well for you
