Junie remember you are doing the best you can, you accomplish quite a bit , more than a lot of people. What is a vestibular clinic.

Sorry about Clark, it must be very scary for the parents

It was so quiet and then BAM....everyone started talking and now I'm behind and don't remember most of what I read.

Susan, I'm sorry you feel disrespected. That is hurtful. I have a feeling they were too distracted and sleep deprived they didn't realize that you had not had dinner. Expectations in human will disappoint. It is hard for me to see that you raised a disrespectful child. Hugs

Ms. Smarty, love the pillow! Simple and beautiful.

JunieB, you have been busy...nice blanket! Regarding restrictions after MX, isn't it interesting how surgeons have different advices? Mine specifically said no raising arms above shoulder until drains were removed and start walking fingers up the wall right after drains removal. Sorry you have little energy.

    Hello Yogagirl!

    Welcome Annie!

Jazzy, thank you for the funny saying. I will try to remember to use that line when my daughters ask for personal space.

    Thank you ladies for hooting

Susan, chalk up to lack of sleep. You said you were staying a week, so you're leaving on Friday? They will miss you. Depending on your relationship, you might want to tell them as much as you love being thereto help with meals, laundry, visitors, and baby, you are NOT their servant. Sorry that they seem to have lost all manners where you're concerned. Where is the other grandma?

JunieB, don't be so hard on yourself.

    Night all.

Susan, so sorry for the way you were treated tonight. Payback is in their future. Wait until they have to clean up after Elena when you go home and it will happen and more than once. When it happens and they tell you about it have a good laugh. I went to see DGS for seven weeks when he was born (in Japan). One day he did a poo up his back, and I mean up his back. Didn't realize how bad it was until I'm changing him and got the sofa throw as well. Had to give him a bath and do a wash to get things back in order. DS thought it was funny. The week after I left, DGS paid them back. We were on Skype and I had a good laugh and asked how did it feel to have to clean baby, clothes and the sofa throw. He apologized. Didn't realize something so small could make such a big mess. I warned them about fevers and the wonderful vomiting that can go with it.

Jazzy, my twins are 35 now, both girls. I used to be told they couldn't be twins because they didn't have rhyming names or weren't dressed alike. Only time I did that was if we would be in a large crowd. Made it easier to see them. High school was a trip. They have very different personalities that the faculty couldn't grasp. One was marked the "good" twin and the other the "bad" twin. I actually had the dean of discipline complain about how different they were. I asked why was she surprised by that. She said because they were twins they should be alike. I had to explain to an educator that even though they are twins by birth they are individuals by nature.

June Bug, hope you get some energy soon. Try to rest as much as possible.

Lover, I love your avatar. It always puts a smile on my face. Hope you and the girls are doing well while hubby is away. Hope all is going well for hubby on his trip.

You talented ladies are making me realize that I need to get back into crocheting.

    Night, night ladies.

Loverly ~ you hooted last night and got everyone going! You had asked if I was taking the Lyrica. I talked about meds with the neurology guy I like last Friday. He suggested Cymbalta, which is in a different class than Lyrica and Neurontin. It is supposed to work for numbness, nerve and bone pain. I started it Sunday and already noticed a reduction in pain. I'm hopeful it will do more as it builds up in my system. Yay!

Anniekay80 ~ Welcome! I'm with you on the video gaming.......hate it! I came close to flipping the switch in the fuse box many-a-time. Hope you have a more quiet night tonight.

Susan ~ I wonder if the new parents are mistaking your giving them "space" as wanting to be alone? Plus, with all the friends coming and going while adjusting to life with a newborn, they probably aren't thinking very clearly. Whatever the reason, it was very rude not to invite you for dinner. Sounds like you need to have a "prayer meeting" to clear things up. I hope you were able to find something to eat and can get a good night's sleep. You've been so busy taking care of everyone else, don't forget to take care of yourself :)

Queenie ~ My BF has a saying about family..... Distance = Safety. image

JunieB ~ I've tried Ester-C and other forms of vitamin C......Peridin-C is the only one that works. I keep comparing the ingredients on the varieties that Sam's Club an Costco carry but haven't found a match yet. Thanks for sharing the vitamin brands you use! Soy free is sooo hard to find. Poor little Clark. The doctor should have done a C-section instead of putting mother and baby through such agony. Prayers for the seizures to go away and for all to be well for them both.

kathindc ~ Why do people get so silly about twins? Geez, you'd think an educator would have more common sense than that! It's great you nurtured their individual personalities. I'm sure your daughters grew up to be confident with each having a positive sense of self.

"Hey!" to Smaarty, Jazzy, Lookie and everyone else

Lookie - A vestibular Clinic is were they determine what is causing dizziness (vertigo). Whether it is related to some Central Nervous System problem or the crystals in the inner ear. Good news is my CNS is intact, so my vertigo is probably the inner ear stuff. It is better than before, but I still have issues with it when I turn quickly and move my head in some way that causes me to feel dizzy.

The therapist also put goggles on me that were darkened and had 2 cameras inside, then had me move my head in different directions to see if my eyes did weird jerks after the movements. The cameras filmed my eye movements and I got to watch the video when the test was done. Pretty weird to watch your eye movements recorded on video.

Shep - Again thanks for clarifying the differences in the Vit. C products. I'll give it a try. With the weather getting hotter here, it'll be a rough summer if I don't get my hot flashes under some control. Last summer was a real warm one too and I had 2 ceiling fans, 3 table fans and the A/C going.

I just looked back at your last post and saw that you've recently started Cymbalta. I think that will be something else to talk to my MO about. Thanks.

Loverly - Please keep in mind that my mastectomy was 25 years ago, so there may very well be details I've forgotten about the post-op directions I received.

Grimm is on on Friday nights and there are ONLY 3 episodes left in this season. RATS!

Smaarty - Thanks for the encouragment. I just get discouraged when I can't stay busy. I think it gives me too much time to think. Plus with my Dx I always feel like I'm living on borrowed time and need to get as much done as possible.

In 2 1/2 weeks there is a fundraiser in Portland, OR called the Doggy Dash. It raises money for the Oregon Humane Society. This years goal is apparently $600,000. I so hope they make it. The few animal welfare officers they have depend on the monies raised to be able to investigate animal cruelty as well as, taking care of all the animals being surrendered and abused.

Alright, time to say goodnight to all. Sleep well and we'll meet here again soon.

Thank you, Kathy! DH is coming home this Friday. He is in Singapore currently at his sister's place resting. He has a sinus infection possibly from inhaling the dust and car exhaust fumes. On the way back from one of the trip into the mountains, a boulder fell in the middle of the road. Thank God it didn't hit their vehicle. The smaller rocks somehow did hit part of the engine causing the oil to leak. They had to wait on the road for 6 hours for help. A 10 hour road trip turned into a 16 hour trip. I'm glad he is in Singapore where the air is much cleaner and the foods are excellent.

Lover glad to hear you DH coming home safely. He is a good man.

JazzyJune best wishes to little Clark he had a tough time and I hope he is getting healthier and stronger by the minute.

Susan Bummer. People can be idiots. A lot of the time any of us can't see past the end of our noses, or fail to notice how things are being experienced by another. I hope YOU are feeling better this morning. Elena is sooo worth it.

JunieB, Sorry to hear about Clark's difficulties. DGS #4 spent a few weeks in the NICU. Very good care there and it's good he's taking a bottle. Still very scary for parents and grandparents. Hugs.

yep Elena is def worth it. They are bending over backwards today. Looking back they feel bad. They really thought I was downstairs sleeping and didn't want to interrupt that. Misunderstandings, all to sleep deprived and sensitive . All is well now. They are planning my return trip already. May 9th. So they must not be tired of me. Sorry I vented for no reason. Thanks for listening and all the kind words. You guys are the best

Susan3: I'm just thankful that the reason came down to "sleep deprivation and misunderstanding".

So glad to hear it was misunderstanding and it was resolved. False impression can destroy relationship. Wonderful you had the talk. Remember, just as you mentioned, you didn't raise a disrespectful child. Relationships can be stressful because we are all imperfect. :

I had the most wonderful time at queenies tonight. I met her hubby and two cats and they fed me. It was so nice to get out and talk with queenie and Steven. They are only an hour away from the kids. Nice to be able to actually meet some folks on this board. Thanks again queenie!! You are the best :)

That is, the humans fed Susan3. (bog-standard spaghetti and tomato-meat sauce) The cats sauntered about nonchalantly.

Loverly, I admit nothing. There may have been some mention of opera.

Morning Owlies, Hi on pages 1193-1194. So much is happening. My computer won't let me open more than one browser. I'll have to turn it over to my tech buddies to fix it, but not quite yet. Always sumpin. I find it difficult to read and respond without using multiple browsers.

Annie, glad you came :) Almost a whole week since Dh's surgery. That's very good :) Too bad your DS is a deadhead about others. It's so nice when they realize they aren't the center of the universe. I'm confused is surgery Friday? had to find a calendar to verify. Sheesh computer is all screwed up it has the wrong date. It's Thursday I think. but computer says it's Wednesday. Not a good thing to do to someone that has an orientation problem....always sumpin. Blessings that all related to surgery is exceptional. We actually have a few going through surgery soon.

Yoga girl, Thanks for your post on D3. I know I had a significant pain level change when I upped the dose from 1000-2000/day to 5000. When I was chatting with Shep and Junie, I felt seriously guilty about talking 10,000 units, b/c it wasn't evidence based. The 5000 units is, but not the 10,000. But chasing pain relief was overriding my decision to try 10. The pain that was tamed the most was the bone pain. That deep gnawing pain. Long long history of D deficiency. First measurement of Total D was "<4, not measurable". So, I may not be able to find evidence for the higher 10,000 dose, but I very much appreciate your story. If you wouldn't mind posting on my thread Pain and Other Things, I know it would help others. Normally I would get the link, but I have a computer problem right now.

Yoga, on D. My endocrine doc(now fired)when we finally got my level up close to 50. It dropped to 30 at the next draw. Nothing changed med wise. Within the year I was dx'd with thyroid cancer. Endocrin doc poo-pooed my concern about the drop b/c it was at the bottom of orthodox accepted normal. I could find nothing that gave me any info related to the drop. Have you seen anything in your study?

Hello, I'm on my lunch break and wanted to drop in and share with you, especially Ms. Smarty, what I am having for lunch.image

Nothing exotic- no eyeballs or internal organs. It's safe. Grilled pork, eggroll, and Vietnamese chicharones (noodle-like), and small salad on the side. I'm famished! We should do Vietnamese on our next lunch date.
