Hi friends- popping in for a quick hi during a break here at the client site. I have a meeting with my client in another 45 min, then will finish up some things and then head out to meet some friends/colleagues for beers and snacks. The highlight of my day for sure!
JazzyJune- it can get really hot here in the summer, I have seen it up to 105 or so in the worse of the summers. In general, we are in the 90's starting in late May until July when the monsoons usually start. Then we are back into the 80's. If there are no good summer rains, we tend to be in the 90's to 100s for months. Trust me, this is not fun! That being said, it is not hot here like Phoenix or Tucson get. I heard it is already hitting the 90's in southern AZ this week. They are low desert, we are high desert, hence the difference in temps!
Susan- whew about Claire and little Elena. For a preemie, that sounds like a good weight. I don't know much about birthin' no babies, but have seen friends go through preemies and know if they are over 5 pounds, usually they are fine. I hope everyone is doing okay and that you will share pictures with us when things are more stable. I love the name too!
Sassy- thanks for telling me about Chevy. I know folks move around and since I cannot be here regularly, I have a hard time keeping up.
Gotta get back to the grind. Wishing you all a good wrap up to the week. Will pop in again soon!

Oh the joy to see the news that Elena is here and everyone is well. Thank you for keeping us posted. Can't wait for the picture.
Mag, Happy Belated Birthday. Your friends are so talented. Love Mary's voice...very soothing.
Ms. Sas, no, you are too young to be called bat. That would not be right. Ha!
I would love a boring life right now, but then how would we grow?
Ok, on my lunch break and soup is getting cold
-
Good morning to all,

Elena is beautiful!!! Usually newborns are not so good looking until a few days later, but she is gorgeous. Wish I could sniff her. I love the picture of Claire looking down at her. So glad mom and baby are well. Congratulations Grandma. Can't wait to hear the story. Good rest.

Good morning ladies and Happy Friday. It's raining here! Yay! I can stop doing the rain dance for now.

Today is our anniversary. We have been married for 21 years. Wow, where did the time go? DH wrote yesterday to let me know that he didn't forget our anniversary and also to tell me that he is where he is because of me. Now, he is a romantic mushy lovey dovey person and I am not. Poor guy. They had a few trouble getting through the last site because of the damage caused by the earthquake last year. So far, the trip has been successful. Here are some pics
People waiting to be seen.
Clinic is set up at a local school.
Damage to people's homes.
Room made out of corrugated metal. DH shares this room with three other docs. Natural heater in the afternoon and also natural air con during the night. In other words, very hot during the day and very cold at night.
Almost natural toilet.
And here is DH resting after he got asthma treatment . I'm so glad he is surrounded by docs. Very dusty and polluted there. Notice the curious onlookeron the left?

lover, happy happy anniversary.......
Mags, happy late birthday
-
Hi there, Susan! Did you get some rest?
-
happy anniversary LOL.
Happy belated birthday, Mags.
-
Happy 21st anniversary ,very thoughtful sediment sent from hubby. The pictures are quite an eye opener on living conditions in other countries.
Happy birthday Mags .
I am off to paint again, I will be glad when it's done.
-
Lover- I'm loving this rain. If only I didn't have a work training to go to. Happy Anniversary!
Happy Friday all. 2 weeks to go till surgery
-
LOVEROFLIFE - Happy Anniversary to you and your good DH!
I'm so sorry... I've missed a big chunk of this thread.... can you tell me what it is your DH does, and what part of the world they went to?
Thank you for posting the pics. They remind me of the ones that are posted by my friends who go on a huge annual medical mission to the Ivory Coast. Primitive conditions, extremely grateful people.
-
Mags - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
Lover - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. Thank you for sharing the pictures. What a good man your DH is.
Susan - CONGRATULATIONS GRANDMA! WONDERFUL NEWS. What a good healthy weight for an early baby. Thank God.
-
Susan- beautiful granddaughter. Sounds like you have all been scrambling. Glad Clair is doing well. Baby looks great! Little cutie pie.
Hol- how are you doing with the treatments?
Loverly- where were those photos taken?
-
Thank you, Ladies.
Forward, think of nice firm arms (hopefully both) after you are done with the painting. Can't wait to see pictures of the finished reno.
Sensi, I was just thinking about you and wondered how you are coming along with research and decision. Yes, it's nice to stay home and maybe cuddle up reading a book on a rainy day. I was supposed to see my PCP today for hopefully a GI referral, but the office called and canceled the appointment. My doctor called in sick. No complaints. I didn't want to drive in the rain anyway. Have you decided on what to do? Uni or Bilateral? For us small breasted people, lumpectomy would leave nothing left Plus, radiation would not be good right?
Jazzy, the photos were taken in Nepal, a country sandwiched between Tibet (China's now) and India, where part of Mt. Everest is.
Blessings, DH went to Nepal 2 weeks ago with two dentists and three doctors to the more secluded hard-hit earthquake areas. He is not a medical provider. Not a bookworm. He was too busy playing basketball and goofing off in school. Haha! But, he does have a business mind. With mission, you have people who provide services and then you have people who provide financial helps to the locals. DH is the latter by God's grace and blessings. He always says what we have, whether it's skills, time, intelligence, talents, or money, they belong to God anyway. It is easy to become arrogant if we think these belong to us. Anything we have can be taken from us in a moment. Anyway,

Computer got sticky. Post almost went to lala land. With this trip, DH helps connect the medical team with the people (leaders in different vilages) he knew in Nepal. They went to four different places in two weeks and saw roughly 1600-1700 patients! They had two local doctors, one ICU nurse, and two medical students, who came along side to help them. Not always an easy trip as we are so used to the living conditions here in the States. Pollution is bad. Most places are not sanitary. Nepal does not have a stable government. Last year, there was political upheaval. Strikes and protests everywhere which caused disruption in services and businesses all over. Petroleum/gas were scarce. I was so worry DH would not be able to make it home.

Lover,
I'm still lurking. Have decided to go with the BMX as radiation would not be good. Although as someone pointed out to me that there could always be the chance I'd have to have radiation, even with BMX, radiologist said only a very small chance. If my tumor ended up being much larger than the 6mm they are seeing. I know this can change after surgery, but going with my gut.
In other great news, I contacted the genetics counselor in regards to info she left off my paperwork. She said that if "you vhave not received a call from Invitae by now, then it's evident that insurance will be covering the cost of testing".
I have 5 more days of work, then taking a mini vacation to go see my friend in Oregon and give myself time to finish any last minute shopping and cleaning.
