Happy Belated Birthday Glennie.
Sorry to hear of the passing of a BCO sister. May She Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.
Lover that was frightening. I hope your sports colleague is recovering well. It sounds like it was well handled.
There was a first aid demo at a meeting I was at recently. Big concentration on CPR. Aim is to get half of Ireland to have correct knowledge how to act as first responders in a cardiac event. Because cardiac events usually happen like that - out in the community - and a quick response may help keep the patient alive until expert help arrives. The demonstrator had a dummy that had slightly translucent skin with light-up tubes inside. As she was doing chest compression you could see lights travelling up the tubes to the brain, like the blood keeping flowing to the brain in a real patient. For me that was a really great, visual way of making that important point understandable.
Lover - absolutely beautiful photo of the droplets on the spider's web.
(PS You could post that over on Gma Foley's thread - A retreat for peaceful contemplation. There is a link to it at the top of the Warm Fuzzies Thread. She posts beautiful photos that she takes for people to enjoy and encourages others to do the same.)

it's a warm 9 and snow. Kids excited last night. Still quiet and peaceful. No school today. Snow again Thursday night.
Hoping they go back tomorrow as I have labs. It's my first round of Ibrance. I could always take them. My boy always asks if they will put the blood back in:)
Glad you are eating Patty. Do you have to drink a lot with Ibrance? I was told to with xgeva. Don't drink as well in winter. Minimal SEs. Mostly fatigue and gastro.
Stay warm

Hah! It is 37 degrees HERE! Oh I am so happy! We beat you Spookie! The East Coast is really supposed to be hammered..... I feel bad for anyone caught in winter weather! I watched something on FB about people sliding all over on the ice...... Then I read a comment about "Don't mean to be a downer, but my Dad slipped on the ice, and hit his head, and died".....
So then it isn't so funny..... I don't even need ICE to fall! Just give me some little random rock from nowhere, and I'll show you how to step on it and twist your ankle, and fall on your heaviest part!
Oh wait.... that was the other story...........

Oh I love Celebration! It's like a magical town.... built by Disney..... Sheri told us the story behind it.....
-
I guess the fairy-tale story of Celebration is different than the one I like to remember...https://www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1920&bih=955&q=celebration+florida&oq=celebratio&gs_l=img.1.2.0l10.1539.3790.0.6149.10.8.0.2.2.0.109.582.7j1.8.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..0.10.593.hWAfXA_b0u0

we watched the Disney show every week on b&w tv. I vaguely remember seeing some of the shows with Walt sitting there with a cig explaining how WDW would come to be. It's the town the Mouse built. Not even he could have imagined the explosion. I do remember when it was all citrus groves. 4 wasn't there.
-
I remember Orlando before Disney. Totally different place. I don't think even Walt could have envisioned the insanity that it has become.
Anyone remember Six Gun Territory? That was THE theme park in the Ocala area. Western themed, naturally, and every day at noon there would be a shoot out in the street. Ahhhhh, memories. Disney has slowly but surely killed every other theme park in the state. There was one just north of Miami that we used to go to in high school. I think it was called Pirate World or something like that.
34 here when I got up. Don't think it hit the low of 25 that they predicted.
-

OK, so I had to google it. The Crow's Nest!! OMG,,, that was a traumatic experience which contributed to my fear of heights. A gang of us went up in it,, and they started rocking it,,, and I freaked and started screaming. They wouldn't let us down until I stopped screaming, and the gang wouldn't stop rocking it! The place hit bankruptcy 2 years after Disney opened.
-
I don't remember that place, there was some kind of Sea World place in Miami? And seeing the Orange Bowl parade on Biscayne Blvd. The hotel where Jackie Gleason, Arthur Godfrey hung out?
Yeah, WDW really changed the way this state is. Not 100% sure all for the better.
We had friends in Ft Lauderdale, ex Cincinnatians. The FIL was a diehard Reds fan, used to listen to the games on radio. Blew my sandals off, sooooo far away!! The station, WLW, had 700,000 watts, broadcast all over the south.
-
That British editor/reporter, just doesn't get Disney. One murder in 14 years and he has to write such a piece and one suicide. With the foreclosures, he doesn't put it in perspective of state and national statistics. Very sloppy and biased reporting.

Fontainebleau?

have found coloring to be relaxing. Who knew
-
The Seaquarium was still there, last I checked,,, but it is not the popular place it used to be. The Parrot Jungle and Monkey Jungle had issues after Hurricane Andrew,, I think Parrot Jungle relocated, not sure about Monkey Jungle. Marched in the Orange Bowl parade when in high school band.
**From the sun and fun capital of the world, Miami Beach, we bring you the Jackie Gleason show."
Patty, Coloring is fun and relaxing!! Who knew? But there are lots of adult coloring books out there now.
-
I bought a coloring book too! It was fun, sort of made my hand hurt. Amazon has a dog coloring book I'm thinking of getting. Barnes and Nobel had a huge selection, no dogs.
-
check out the stupid comments thread. There is a swear word coloring book!!
-
Spookie got a hair cut today.
-
Spookiesmom - Oh my gosh! your Spookie is so precious.
Patty - Nice job on the coloring!
-
Hi & welcome to JazzJuneBug from Jazzygirl! Do you love jazz too?

I did also get an adult coloring book which is very relaxing.
