they have cancelled everything around here last night. Still waiting on the snow 12 hours later. Teacher sent home homework. 100 day next week. Must send in two things (one for each child).

Ibrance very mild compared to the red devil. But it did the job on my lung Mets and I asked for two extra rounds. Everyone's different. I think the first round is always the most anxious because you don't know what to expect. I didn't mind being bald after the initial loss.

But yes you can get meds if your nauseous. I always felt better after I threw up. I still drink ginger"tea" and sleepy time. The meds will make you constipated. Stay on top of that. My taste buds would fluctuate but I ate regular food. If it didn't sound good, I didn't bother.

Can't wait for the dinner party. Must post pic of my glassware.

    Stay warm!

Jwoo, A while back you mentioned you had pain in the abdominal area and doctors could not find any reason. I have had the pain from the soft tissue in abdomen for about 6 months, all recent scans did not reveal any problem from the BC issues ( I have bone mets). When I complained to my Onc in December, she challenged me to try "Gluten Free Diet" for two weeks, and she herself is on gluten free. I put it off for two months until the pain became really unbearable last week, I finally started gluten free last Sunday. In the short few days, the pain subsidies to a tolerable point. I am not sure if the pain is really associated with gluten intolerance, but I will give the two-week gluten free trial a chance.

JWoo, you have a kind heart. Can't believe they did that to your grandma. Hope you have many beautiful visits with her. Also, I am glad you pull Eeyore out . Yes, consider trying gluten free diet to see if it helps with the stomach pain. My younger sister tried it and said that she does not get frequent headaches and bloating anymore. Best wishes.

Susan, just hugs this morning to you. Hope you have strong armor and weapons to fight this crazy battle.

Same to you too, Zill and Patty. Zill, I am happy to hear that you are tolerating Ibrance. Hate nausea. I have been having nausea through out the day since the beginning of this week and I am not even on any meds except Omega 3 and vitamin D. I don't think I am pregnant, although I am late. Home test is negative. I wonder if my body is transitioning to menopause or my thyroid is off. Hoping it is just sympathetic nausea.

Pretty roosters or is it handsome roosters...makes me feel guilty eating chickens.

Oh no Ms. Sas, please don't. I was just teasing you. As much as I like them( nice finds btw), like Hiho, I am trying not to buy things because I really want to downsize. I just donated a bunch of stuffs yesterday. It was hard to let go, but it was for a good cause. Don't worry, the angel is still with me. Can't give her away unless you make me mad. Just kidding, just kidding.

Where is Ms. Chevy this morning. Did Mr. G make you mad

    Pretty glassware.

I am lazy too, Ms Smaarty. Got to get going. I am blaming it on the weather.

I love that.... "Mrs. G"...... Hah! We are not doing the eye drops anymore.... Thought they were making him dizzy, and light-headed.... I looked it up. One can actually do that, I read! His eye is great.... and his mood is better.... I just want him to feel good, and then he is happier....Goes back in on the 5th for final exam.... He can see out of that eye just as good as the other one! It's kind of like a miracle to us....

Love all the dishes you guys! Just trying to get rid of all my odds & ends.... also bedding, and craft stuff that I don't use.... What Janie and her friends don't want, I can always donate.... just feel bogged down..... BUT I bought a 2 drawer metal cabinet to keep all our important papers in, and receipts, monthly statements, etc. So that's all done. Going to watch the NFL playoffs Sunday.... Janie coming over, and we'll watch it together & snack all day....

JWow! Nice post.... ! You are so thoughtful! Hi Loverly! We can always count on you.... bye gals! Talk to you later! xoxo

Jwoo, Liked what you said about CPR. They did a push here to train as many people who were willing to learn and now Seattle is supposed to be the best city to have a heart attack and survive. It's a requirement for teachers, counselors, and people who work with the elderly or disabled.

Yogagirl, in regard to your question about Ambien, it is probably because of the FDA recommendation based on next- morning impairment associated with the higher dose

    http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm334033.htm

Everyone is different and doctors need to learn to listen to their patients. However, I do understand their need to protect themselves in this sue happy society

yoga girl: new MD's always want to mess with your meds, no matter how much you tell them that such-and-such dose works for you. I don't know how old you are, but the guidelines are 5 mg for those over age 65. 10mg not recommended for that age group. Blackouts and falls potential problems. Could be one reason why MD cut you back? Or others in your group? Sorry that other things do not work for you. Maybe after a "trial" of 5mg you can convince MD to go back to 10 mg. Or one of your other doctors?

JWoo: Thank you for the birthday greetings. That was a lovely long post! I'm so sorry that happened to your Grandma. That was a terrible thing. I would be getting a lawyer, myself! **don't nobody hurt my Grandma** I loved mine dearly and miss her everyday, even tho she has been gone since 1988. You keep visiting her as much as possible. You will be happy that you did. I'm glad to be able to look back and remember all the times I took her out to lunch, and when I took her back to her home in NC after moving away 40 years earlier,, and her FIRST and only plane ride. It was a trip! Make some good memories, my friend.

    Lovely dishes, Sas and Zills.

    Happy Anniversary, Susan!

Hey SAS and e verybody. I haven't been around for awhite. Back for now I have a brain mri scheduled for next Friday because my vision got blurry and I see double around lights since Saturday. I do not want anything else to go wrong, well, who does after all.

I am having a good spell with sleep getting very sleepy at about 8PM and waking about 4 or 5AM. If I can keep it sort of on this cycle I feel best. Inevitably it keeps moving and I wind up 12 hours off. At least now I know what happens and my husband leaves it alone.

I was sure sorry to read that Leah is gone. She was on a lot of the threads I always read.

    Take care

    Ginger

Gingerbrew, I had the same symptoms you do. I had cataracts. Arimidex, Aromasin and Tamoxifen all can cause preexisting cataracts to get worse or can cause them. You might ask your oncologist for a referral to an ophthalmologist.

The Chinese have a centuries old a greeting. "How's your liver?". When I first read that I laughed. Imagine walking on a lane and running into someone and you say in greeting "How's your liver?" Here that would be considered quite odd.

So, how's your liver? Mine--- is so so, would be quite a bit better, if I laid off the wine and cigarettes. But life is short and I enjoy both.

Tomorrow is the 23rd. I have decided that's the anniversary of all my stuff.

I was told I had a brain tumor at 11:55. At 1:00 pm I had a bx that confirmed BC. I went straight away like a good little nursey and told my boss about the brain tumor. What a bad move. She relieved me from work b/c she needed to know that I was safe to work with patients. Never worked again. Lost my career of 40 years. BC, brain tumor, and loss of career in less than 4 hours. Went home and had a pretty decent party with the neighbors.

It worked out okay in the most bizarre sense b/c Dh Greg was Dx'd with Lymphoma 3 months behind me. His course of events was awful and he passed in August 2010. If I hadn't been disabled b/c of the brain, I would have never been able to care for him. It was an insane time. Can't imagine working and all the insanity.

Then the brain tumor grew and had it out March 2012, Then thyroid cancer dx' in Jan 2014, but likely present in Jan 2009 b/c they grow oh so slow.

    Way to many anniversaries.

So, Jan 23, 2009 is it. All consolidated into one. 7 years tomorrow.

Gingerbrew, good luck on your MRI. I have had double vision since breast rads ended in Aug 2014. The MRI at that time was clear, then they found ocular myasthenia gravis. That seems to be the cause of the double vision as the brain tumor that came later was in another area. Myasthenia is a much better Dx than brain mets. Let us know how it goes.

Ginger, you are on the same sleep schedule as Chevy. She usually checks in quite early. Please, stay close I've missed you. You are such a nice person and were so helpful to other members. AND you always made me feel good, Bless you.

Lisa-e is right cataracts can do what you are describing, but what's nice is you are having the MRI. All my stuff was incidental findings. I was in prophylactic pipeline when BC was found. Brain tumor on right was an incidental finding on an MRI post symptoms after a left sided concussion. Thyroid was an found to be a goiter on yearly CT. I insisted it was cancer even though the pathologist called it negative twice. A second opinion at Quest found it in both lobes. Diagnostics are our friend.

Rule out diagnostics are great.............You're doc is certainly doing the good thing. Rule out the worst and work with the easy.

So, happy you are here, please don't go away again...........

Thanks, everyone, who thought about Rituxan... yes, it is used for MANY off-label purposes. The drill will be to pre-medicate with Tylenol, Benadryl, and SoluMedrol, then start a VERY small drip. If there is the slightest hint of reaction, the process is stopped, additional meds are added, time is given for SEs to subside, and then slowly started again. So glad he will be in a hospital to do this.

He'll actually be in the Chemo Infusion room, next to folks who are getting chemo and other drugs. I gave him a little inservice on "Infusion Room Etiquette."

I LOVE those glass cup and plate snack sets. In the 50's (when EVERYBODY joined clubs), my mom was in a Club called "Stitch and Bitch" but no one sewed. The mostly-newlywed ladies (about 20, I think) just met once a month at each others' homes and drank wine and ate snacks and Mom made sure I wasn't listening at the closed hall door. They were together for more than 70 years and the last two members just passed away. I inherited my mom's snack sets and still have them.

Whoa, Ambien - I might as well drink a dozen espressos. It keeps me totally awake for 24 hours.... BAD drug for me. I asked the Pharmacist about dosing, and she told me that the standard 10 mg dose got changed because "they" figured out that Ambien does not clear the body in 24 hourslike previously thought.

Instead, it builds up in the bloodstream, and in an elderly, or frail, or sensitive person, they may end up with more like 40 mg in their systems at some point because of the cumulative effect. So doses got lowered. But she also said that docs were saying to some patients that they could double up. Not me! Never touching that stuff again!

Okay Sass.... Now I KNOW prophylactics are just a nice way of saying rubbers.... Now what were you saying? They sell them in pipe-lines? I'm probably missing something here...

I got where you had major CF's on this day years ago... Don't think about them.... Just keeps you awake at night.... And listen little missy.... You should NOT smoke.... drinking is fine, but smoking will really hurt those lungs of ours... I am a poster child for not only pole-dancing-gone-bad, but for also how-to-screw-up-your-lungs-with-asthma-from-smoking. I'm just trying to teach you something helpful.... I heard weed is even better than smoking cigarettes! Oh wait... am I actually advocating a joint now and then? Just listen to me..... sometimes I actually get it right...

GINGERBREW! Where have you been young lady? Hiding out in the snow somewhere? Good to hear from you again!

Blessings! GOOD one! "Stitch & Bitch" !!!! Hahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaahah! Yes, we must have friends so we can bitch! Otherwise it would all build up in us, and that is not a good thing......... That's probably what made us all sick.... we held it all in, and it came out, and that's how we all wound up in the same place. THAT'S IT!

And yes that's me.... "Olderly and frail" and even sensitive and stuff! So don't mess with us folks.... Going today to meet-up with DH's dear Nephew... He has this "thing" to check my "check engine" damn light that stays on.... So that's our big Saturday.

Theresa, my 91 year old friend.... YES, there IS someone older than me.... Well she has this problem with Diarrhea, sometimes... So they won't give her anything for it, unless she screams bloody-murder... So I snuck some Immodium AD in to her... in a brown paper bag... concealed you might say.... Now she has her own stash.... WELL.... I also took her 5 chocolate Bon-Bon's and a couple dark chocolate covered coconut candies. PLUS they finally gave her a water pill, now on a morning schedule, for her swollen ankles....

THEN.... now get this.... She ate all that candy at once! At ONCE! And she got.... you guess it..... diahrreah! So we blamed the Lasix....! So she took 2 Immodium AD and it stopped.... THEN she told the Doctor.... He said you dumb bitch, it is NOT the Lasix! So she has to take it as prescribed.

So I told her it was PROBABLY all the damn chocolate you ate! You scarfed it all down! At once! Next time I will just bring you a box of Ex-lax since you like chocolate so much and have to eat it in one sitting !!!

That just means we both have to behave.... We learned.
