Debbie and Chabba, any updates on your dad or brother?
-
Laurie - Brother is in home hospice care, has been for a week now. I't probably won't be long now, pssibly days, weeks at the most. They are keeping him comfortable, he is getting hydration by IV, no nutrition.
-
Bedo- OHHH so you have a admirier huh! Cool I hope if it works out that he treats you well otherwise I will have to come kick some arse!
Tazzy- LOL! me too or at least a silver medal!
Moon- Umm I think that is called a vibrator lol!
-
Chabba- Thinking of you always and since I have sent you a pm You know your in my prayers.
Laurie- My dad is going to get a feeding tube in a couple of days, he spent sunday in the hospital for dehydration and can't believe they didn't do it then. I have been having to talk to Roberta his wife for the last 5 days since he is too sick to talk. He starts rads on the 4th and chemo on the 6th. My sister already got her tickets and will fly here next sunday night from Hawaii then we will drive down and stay with my dad for a week or so but probably will end up getting a hotel because Iam sure the last thing he needs is 2 hysterical girls. Thanks for asking!
-
chabba and debbie - continued prayers for you and your families.
I'm with moon on the sleep and sex - I think we are both in trouble, lol!
apple - I cut off my own long hair pre-chemo and sent it to this lady and she made me a fabric topped hairpiece that I wore during chemo with hats - ball cap or fedora. She needed 8" of hair to do it. Here is the link:
-
Chabba- Before I forget I wanted to tell you to have a very Happy Birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday! Hope you can enjoy your day. xoxo
-
Thank you Debbie.
-
Happy birthday, Chabba! Hope you can do something soothing if not fun or yourself.
So very saddened about your brother...I hope Hospice is able to keep him as comfortable as possible. Birthday hugs!
Debbie, it must be so hard not to be able to talk to your dad directly. I remember going through that, but my step mother tried her hardest be helpful. I hope you are also finding that to be the case. Hugs to you..... -
Lacey-I havn't always been keen on my dads wife she was kind of a trouble maker for my brother at times but none of us ever said anything for my dads sake. And right now it's all about my dad, But I have noticed how concerned she is and has been taking very good care of my dad and talking to me every night about what is going on with him. So I am grateful for that.
Dinner tonight was blackened Cod and fresh green beans with sliced tomatos on the side. Missing my starch but it's ok, I have already lost 5 pounds woo-hoo!
-
Debbie Way to go on the weight loss!! Prayers for your Dad that he gets through this as easily as possible. Glad you will have family coming to be with you for some moral support.
Chabba Happy Birthday! Treat yourself...you deserve it.
Woohoo on the sleep...oh how our priorities change. Hmmm batteries?

Deb- Havn't heard from you in a long while hope you are having a nice time on your vacation.
-
chabba - happy b-day!
-
Chabba, Happy Birthday from Arizona!
-
Happy Birthday Chabba!!
-
Debbie sending prayers your way for your dad. I am glad even though your step mother is not your favorite person she is taking care of your dad and working well with you.
Last night was the open house get together for DS#1 pre school, he starts next week. We had steak tips rice and zucchini for dinner. I was not in the mood for any of it! LOL, I ate enough to be full and moved on with the night. Tonight he has soccer at 5:30 so I actually bought a frozen bake and rise pizza for dinner tonight's dinner. We will have that with salad when we get home at 6:45 ish. This sports thing on a week night is nuts. My kids are usually fed and in jammies by 7. It's too early to eat before we go and seems late to eat when we get back if I have to cook something. I will have to break out the crock pot next week.
Deb- hope you are having an amazing trip!
Michelle- Win big and have a blast!
Bedo- 5 ice cream bars for dinner?! Wow! Although I will add good for you!!

Hello All I'm back!
We had a wonderful, marvelous, fantastic time. In the beginning there was jet lag, but got over it. I got tired of living out of suitcases but that's over. I had absolutley no internet as we did not bring our lap top, just made the limit on the suitcases.
The wedding was out of this world, the weather was pretty good, the sun managed to break at just the right moments for pictures outside and only sprinkled a few times. I will post some pictures as soon as I download them. I was not able to take too many at the wedding but the countryside, ruins, landscape is awesome. Compared to Europe, we are still infants when it comes to ancient ruins they are thousands of years old
The food is so different and high in fat. Fish & Chips which is a crispy battered catch of the day, usually Haddock or Cod, chips are just steak fries here, bacon sandwiches whichs is like a dry Canadian bacon, bacon wrapped sausages, pork stuffed with goats chees wrapped in parma ham, I tried chunky wedges of brie covered in breadcrumbs and dunked in the fryer till goey and golden, it was yummy, I am sure I gained the weight I lost. OH yes, lots and lots of pubs and I got hooked on the beer called Black Sheep. Google - A FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST, holy mackerel is that loaded with fat. LOL
-
Laurie- I bet you will have mixed emotions on DS starting school. I know I did I cried then I was kind of happy too! lol! But the time passes by so quickly wish I would of taken more time to enjoy every single second with her.
Michelle- Hope you are winning big!!! And having fun too!
I have been some what of a clean freak all week, didn't know i had it in me. Today I Cleaned drawers out rearranged my clothes in my closet. Went through all my old papers I have saved for years that I am not sure why but threw them away. Did windows and blinds pulled some weeds outside. It is so beautiful here today no wind and about 70 just perfect.

Grrr....
The doctor called about her cheek lump biopsy results. He wants to see her on Tuesday, but would give her no hint as to the type of news he will be giving.
Sigh
Eric -
I am sorry Eric
Happy Birthday Chabba!
Be kind to yourselves and family Chabba and Debbie. My Mom was on Hospice I am so glad she was.
Debbie, Moon was talking about batteries for her alarm clock. Sheesh!
-
Um, alarm clock, I think, um, NOT. At least I don't think its alarming, but it is intense! LOL
Deb, I am glad your stroking NOTstroking!
is working with you, that is a blessing. Debor, glad you had a great time at the wedding. Chabba, praying for your brother, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Eric, oh that sucks. Praying too for Sharon. Much love to all. -
Chabba
-
Hard to keep up with everyone - chatty lot
Happy Birthday chabba... here's wishing you a special one.
Hugs to Sharon and Eric.
Hugs to all who need them.
Just met with work colleagues for lunch.. had a prawn mango wrap which was delicious. Gonna get hubby to take me for Wings & Beer at the local tonight.
-
Eric- I am so sorry, hope it is not anything to worry about. I will keep her and you in my prayers
Bedo- Oh OK, whatever you say LOL!
Moon- You lost me there on the stroking? LOL!
Deb- Just saw your post glad to see you back. Sounds like you had a great time and great food can't wait to see the pictures.
-
I'm slowly putting things of FB.
-
It has been a very special birthday. It started out with a text from my brother waiting for me when I woke up and phone calls from well wishers all day long. Even though he can only speak in a labored and difficult to understand whisper, DB even called me and tried to sing Happy Birthday. DH took me to dinner, had the captain's plate with creme breule (sp?) for dessert.
And now to top off a great day, all the wonderful birthday wishes from all of you are the perfect icing on the cake. Thank you so much.
-
Happy Birthday Chabba! So glad you had a wonderful day!
Eric, sorry you have to wait longer on the scan results for your wife. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending you good thoughts and wishes.
The food was only so-so, but had a wonderful dinner with Michelle and her DH last night. My DH commented on how bubbly Michelle is. She is definitely the dynamo everyone here knows and loves. Good wishes to her on Friday with her first chemo tx. -
Debbie, that was Stepmom! Darn auto correct. I went back to edit it, but left it there too. LOL! Of course maybe the stroking had something to do with the , um not alarm clock. LOL
-
Chabba- What a great birthday you had and love that your DB sang to you even in a whisper made me tear up. (((hugs)))
Kay- I am so glad you had a great time with michelle- I bet she is so cute in person too wish some day I could meet you all because I love each and every one of you here.
Deb- Your DD wedding dress is so gorgous she looks just like her mama
Moon- Scared me there for a minute thought you might be watching lol! Just kidding ya all!
-
Good morning all! Looks like it's been a busy thread...I've been traveling to Florida and am now visiting kids and grandkids with little time to spare..lol! I only have a short week here so have to make the most of it! Saturday is DGD's birthday...she will be three.
Lots of flooding here in S. Florida, but for the most part, Isaac blew by and was a big rain event.
Too many pages to read through, so will wish everyone well and catch up later!
