Bonfire of the Goddesses

Linda - It is crazy isn't it? You are so right. Why should you have to sit for hours in a germ filled ER waiting room just to be seen by a doctor that knows nothing about you. On the other hand, you gotta do what you gotta do. You shouldn't have to live with pain and other issues. Hugs
-
i agree with Jo -
Linda, if you are uncomfortable you deserve to be treated right away. How would the doc feel if it were a family member? It's a sick system which could get worse.
I hope your symptoms are relieved soon.
Meanwhile I am enjoying the gathering here. Hot cocoa, a group hug and a snowball toss are perfect for a cold night.
PS - tossing in a medical system that does not seem humane.

Hey Fire! I prolly would have smacked him and the doctor too! I don't do spitting. And when my 16 year old was a baby and thought biting was funny, I bit him back. Dad thought I was SO mean. Kid quit biting me, kept biting dad!
Glad you are out of that basement. Nothing good happens down there. At least up in the attic the sun can get through!
-
4sew, what you said about the kids makes sense to me.
K, so darned good to hear you say you are out of the basement. We all hide there at times, but in very difficult times, we set up house there. Missed you lots...we are here -- all here as always.
Let's stay warm by the fire...not easy today but picture a sunny day in the 30s where you can breathe the fresh air...know you love winter.Hugs all around...
-
FireKracker, glad you are out of the basement. You know, Veggy would not want you down there. Stay by the fire and feel the love of those around you.

So hello Fire, yes hello Fire, we're so glad to see you back where you belong..........Your looking swell Fire, I can tell Fire, your still growing, your still glowing, your still going strong...............I feel the thread swaying, hear the gals saying, one of your old favorite quotes from way back when say.........Golly gee Fire, your so good to see Fire, promise you'll never go away, Fire will never go away, Fire will never go away again...............Woot, Woot, Woot,.............yea.........
Hugs........your partner in crime..............Veggy girl............we're back..............
-
It's so good to see so many of you back here by the fire! Firekracker, so glad you are out of the basement.
I saw a little "science experiment" in a children's science catalog that reminded me of Veggy. It is a little glass case about 10 inches tall, 12 inches long, 1-2 inches wide, filled with dirt and water, and you can watch the little seeds sprout above ground and also see the root systems develop below ground through the glass case. I just remember seeing so many of Veggy's animations that the advertisement for this thing just reminded me of her and cracked me up!
Finally got nearly a quart of fluid drained off my lungs yesterday, and guess what??? I CAN BREATHE!!!!!! And I don't gurgle! And I can climb stairs! And I am still pissed that they couldn't find a way to do this 10 days ago so I lost time singing with my choir and DH took off several days of work to take care of me. Next time (I pray there IS NO NEXT TIME!) my MO said just go to the ER and get admitted and they can do it within the day. Well, I went to the ER but refused admission, so I guess part of the blame is on me - I just absolutely am terrified of being admitted to a hospital (and I worked in health care my entire professional life!). In any case, I am glad to be breathing, glad to see so many of you here.
Let's do hot toddies or spiced buttered rum around the fire tonight!
-

FireKracker - I'm here. Just been working too hard. You should have known I couldn't retire yet. Hey, I like the job, the people I work with and the money is great. I have been able to pay off some bills. We went a bit overboard for Christmas so that is next. Gonna get that debt paid off. Thanks for calling and checking on me. Love ya sista.
-
FireKracker, REALLY??????? Water?????? REALLY drinking WATER here???????? As long as you have some good Scotch whiskey in it, I guess that may be OK ..... Yes, I know we all need to drink our water, and I am proud of you for being a good example. Will go and dutifully fill my water bottles for the day and down those big ol' chemo pills with half of the first bottle. Once they are down, I have only 6 more days until my next break! And I don't remember if alcohol was mentioned in the drug-drug interactions ....
Hoping you all are seeing some relief from this amazing cold and snow.
-

-
have been away from this thread for a very long time but just want to stand next to the fire for warmth. it's been way too cold here in upstate NY, -10 to -20 degrees. But we did have a heat wave today, it was in the +20's and going to be close to, if not, in the 50's by Saturday. The government must be playing with "HAARP" again. for those of you who do not know what HAARP is, Google HAARP weather machine. You will be surprised.
-
awww come on ducky who do u want to throw into the fire?
I'll help u even with this friggin LE..
Which dr?
So happy to see this thread comin back to life
It's freezing here..hot the heat up real high
I'm heading to the fire now...gotta double up on the water for the LE.
Just found an expired pain killer..hey I hate those things but it did help the pain I CAN NOW TYPE
I'm rambling as usual.
Just welcome back...and stay here..
-
K, glad you found that pill...you sound better already.
King, I can't imagine how cold...we are thawing out down on LI.
Just have to mention my niece lived in E. Greenbush for years in an apartment. I think they just moved into a house. The town can't be that big....:-DI'm feeling the warmth....
Linda...I am SO glad to hear that the procedure gave you the relief you deserve. I want to throw into the fire whatever or whoever decided that you could wait. It is not acceptable at all.... Stay well and enjoy the things you can ... find the joy.
-
hey
The castor oil worked
Hot damn
Guess the pill helped too even tho it was expired
-
FireKracker - Yea! Glad it worked and you are feeling better.
-
snowing like a blizzard here - except huge flakes so that should be a little snow accumulation. very pretty here by the bonfire, so join me in the snow a bit.
would take a pic of the Newfie in the snow, left him on deck, his favorite weather. but camera is charging. came on bco to get the instructions i wrote out on how to take the pics out of my camera and into computer to process. wrote it on here bcz others could not recall how to either. darn brain thing. but once here i could not find the directions i wrote out, darn BRAIN thing. so had to look it up somewhere else and realized my camera was out of juice. had to be turned on and have power. so taking pics w phone now. huge flakes! bonfire can melt them once enough white on ground to make it pretty and not grey.
-
Tossing in my thoughts that I have had such bad luck for so much of my life. What I realized today is that I THE BEST LUCK because I have so many sisters and friends and family who love me and care about me, even when I feel rotten and mona and groan and belly ache and complain. They still love me and come to help as best they can. I am definitely not lucky with the way I have experienced the disease and all the horrific treatments and side effects, but I am definitely lucky to have so many loving people in my life, including all of you here on BCO. Thank you.
Bluebird-Essa, that's just what we need: big old snow flakes falling in the night, the flames leaping high, the crackling of the fire as it consumes the wood, great balance of cold/hot, wet/dry, anger/joy ... and good luck with the camera technology. It is one of my greater challenges!
-
Hope everyone's keeping warm. We've had fog here for 2 days. The bright light of the fire helps me find the way.
Linda, didn't notice any complaining. You tell it like it is and that's what we are here for.
Our last patch of snow melted today and I also saw a robin. Strange for January.
