Luv I've had a cortisone shot in my shoulder.  It didn't hurt bad and did give a little relief for a bit. For me though, it wasn't worth the mood changes I had. I'm really sensitive to stetoids and won't take them if it's at all avoidable. 

I had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder to remove bone spurs.  I probably need it again but want to see if post retirement movement will improvr things. I'm sick of drs and want to avoid anything I can..

DS#2 echocardiogram came back fine.

Yay Veggy for good news.

Thanks GG. I was surprised at the systemic effects of cort. injections into a joint. (I was never an orthopedic nurse - can you tell) Pretty sure I'm not ready for those yet and never had any b4. Wish I could get some more effective NSAIDs. Think I've been thru all the Tier 1 and 2 on insurance. I need to look again and maybe print it out for appt. PCP says I'm not taking max of Advil yet. Thank goodness for Zantac.

Luv .....be careful.....those meds can play havoc on your belly.....actually when I had that severe colon episode where they thought I had a Mass, and it was serious inflammation which they called..Eschimic Colitis....."after the colonoscopy to see if it was a tumor...first question he asked was........"have you been taking large amounts of Aleve, Ibuprophen, any of the Nsaids".......answer was ...no...but found that interesting that he asked that question...."be careful......pain sucks, but you don't need additional problems.....

Granny - Even in 30 degree weather or a rain storm for that matter, nothing affect this fire. Remember it is magical and is here for us so don't hesitate to keep throwing stuff or people if you prefer. Maybe we can just sit by the fire and feel the warmth and spend some time together.

We used to go sledding and everyone brought a different flavor schnapps. When we got to the bottom of the hill we would pass the bottles and drink until you got back to your own flavor. Kept us warm but the walk back up the hill kept getting longer!

4sewwhat - I've been wanting to ask you if you are a quilter or sew all kinds of projects? I, myself am a self-taught quilter.

Here are some s'mores to get us started.

Hi Jo!

I sew all sorts of stuff. Started when I was 6-7 years old. I do quilt some but not much time for much of any of it. My kids are 9,11,14 & 16 and I have a tiny catering/cake decorating business so not the time to play that I would like! I have made more bridesmaid dresses than I care to remember, window treatments, pagent dresss, jointed teddy bears, a Bimini for a house boat and everything in between! I also cross stitch, crewel, candle wick, knit, crochet, etc... I could open a craft store with what I have in boxes! Don't tell DH I admitted that though! Lol

My mom is self taught quilter also and has done some really beautiful stuff. She does all the hand work then sends them to a couple with a long arm to do the machine quilting with the fancy machine!

Jo......shame on me......can't sew to save my soul.......one time before I married my husband he came to pick me up for a date......on the way to my house a button fell off his shirt......he said " look". I said oh I can sew that.........he went to take his shirt off and I said"no, I can do it right on you". ......which I proceeded to do quite proud of myself.............when he called me the next day he told me when he tried to take his shirt off at home for bed he couldn't.............I had sewn his dress shirt to his T shirt underneath..............so much for domestication..........lol

I did manage to give birth to 6 children after I married him....".DOES THAT COUNT"

Ducky! Six kids! Good for you! In my book, you don't ever have to sew! Reminds me of my DH. He complains that I don't clean or cook or do "it" enough for him and once asked what I did do besides raise three kids. I told him point black, " I READ." and he's one lucky fellow that that's all I do.... Most of the time! I'm throwing domestication in the fire!

Ducky, I think 6 children count!!!

I used to do a lot of needle crafts, loved counted cross stitch and petit point, had learned to do a little quilting with my grandmother before she died. She also taught me to crochet, and I also sewed in 4H for years, but hated it. Now I have neuropathy from the blasted chemo and can't bear to hold a needle between my fingers to do the work and really miss it. So I am doing more painting as the brushes are not as tough on my fingers. I have a full quilting frame from my great-grandmother that my grandma used, not sure what to do with it, certainly don't want to put it on the fire!!!! It is about 100 or more years old, still functional, have offered it to a friend who is a curator for a working farm museum, but haven't managed to get it to her.

Into the fire again with chemo-induced neuropathy!!!!!

OMG...I did everything too except the quilting...my mom was a designer...and at a very young age I wanted to learn everything...and I did...even tho my mom was right handed and I am a lefty,I learned to use both hands...

Damn these hands now....I cannot knit or crochet anymore...I sew a drop now.gave my machine away with a broken heart.

I made table clothes cross stitch....still have 1.

What a wonderful hobby it was

Oh I forgot I made my girls an umbrella for showers,engagements and even baby showers....a few friends borrowed it...

Linda, I'm starting to see brushes meant for sore hands. And they sell, or used to, a triangular silicone thing to slip on to pencils. It would work with some brushes.

Firecracker, one year the winning typist in a national contest typed with her feet. She had the typewriter down on the floor and typed over 200 wpm. I can't even wiggle one toe independently.

And I can't add 2&2 anymore either.haha.

What I can do and still do is dance.not like I used to but I still dance.

Guess ill just keep the feet.

I love to dance!!!! We can dance around the fire while the s'mores are cooking to keep warm :-)

4sewwhat - Over the years, I have made clothes, learned to knit, crochet, Swedish Embroidery and for many years did counted cross stitch. Many years ago, I attempted to make a three piece suit - yes, I said a three piece suit for DH. It was a jacket, pants and vest. I actually lined the vest! It turned out pretty good and DH wore it but I wouldn't try to make a living at it.I try to keep DH out of my sewing room. He would flip if he saw how much fabric I really have. Slowly, I will use it up. In the meantime, I am going to keep quilting as long as I can. I don't send my quilts out for machine quilting - too expensive for me. So, I either machine quilt in the ditch or hand quilt. I love hand quilting but my hands are starting to protest. It is getting harder and harder to hold the needle these days with Degenerative Joint Disease. Getting old is really starting to suck!

Jo and 4sew - I love quilting and quilt shows. I just need to dig my machine out and start working on a new quilt. I may make a quilt depicting my cancer. I have some ideas but have never tried to do anything like that before so I have no idea how it will turn out. But it would be therapeutic for sure.

yes JOJO I am happy....And the other side is all purple with purple dragon flys...everyone knows how I feel about pink but I love,love love this blanket....I use it as a throw.
