What kind of reconstruction did you have Yorkie?? What is the pain from??  It's funny, I've researched cell biology to death, vis a vis my cancer, but have spent little time with this Tissue Expander exchange stuff.  I love my PS as a person, and just hope that translates to a good outcome.  I'm more worried about the ooph - don't think I have cancer, but darn, with that BRCA2 looming over my head.

YramAl - I saw a headline on tv as I was leaving for work this morning "Republicans Investigating Fraudulent Weather Forecast"....Really?  I thought it might be one of those trending twitter thingys, but other than Rush, is someone seriously suggesting this?  If they believe so much in the accuracy of weather forecasting, you'd think they'd believe in Climate Change!

Blue:  Back pain is so debilitating.  I've watched my father suffer for so many years.  Hoping for some relief for you.

So now the Dems are manipulating the weather. Good grief.  I write fiction, and I'd never write anything this nutty.

So, had my job interview today.  Showed up only to find out that it had been set for another day with different people - higher ups.  Hope it's a good sign.

You know, it is really hard these days to tell what is an Onion story and what is a real story about something the lunatic fringe said. Now the President is supposed to take personal responsibility for the drought but he caused Hurricane Isaac to "fake out" Tampa so the Republican convention would be cancelled. Don't you think if he could control the weather, he would take personal responsibility for ending the drought by sending the tropical storm that way? Really, the whole Convention promises to be one long Onion story.



Kam, good luck on your surgery. My ooph wasn't so bad ... It was my fourth surgery in 9 months, so I was tired.



Blue, I am an asthmatic so I have prednisone sometimes when I get a respiratory ailment. It is a super anti-inflammatory to take down swelling and inflammation. It sounds appropriate in your case. It will tear up your esophagus if you don't take it with a full meal, so be careful about making sure you get enough to eat. I HATE prednisone, but it does work.

Blue...I have never taken prednisone long term.  My son had it for several weeks once, and he gained some weight that he has since taken off.  But, I had to give it to my highly allergic dog for years.  It resulted in serious weight gain with him.  I believe the side effects also include depression, among other things.  If it could give relief, though, that would be wonderful.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes, but I think R. Limbaugh should step on a very rusty nail, maybe a railroad spike....and be allergic to tetanus like I am.  Would't get as many laughs though if he were out of commission.  I can't believe adult people say those things with straight faces.

Blue - don't know about prednisone, but I wanted to let you know that my gf that tried acupuncture (first time a few weeks ago), that I mentioned to you, is continuing to get relief from her two treatments.  Her husband is a surgeon (so she is informed of all of the various possible treatments) and she tried everything else before going there.  She is crossing her fingers that it will continue to work.

I've decided to leave on my trip at noon, rather than 6 am, tomorrow, so I'm still working a bit and reading this thread. HL - my fourth surgery too in 8.5 months! I'm constantly amazed how long this darn BC takes to treat.

If the weather weren't enough of a story, how about the "I shop at Costco and these 3 shirts...."  Pretty soon that will be for the elite, so nice try Nitt.   I keep wondering if it's worth my membership as I look at cost-cutting measures.

Kam, I just caught the end of the shirts from Costco. I was grossed out ... Dammit, I jusf bought 3 shirts at Costco for DH because he got a new job. CRAP! I hope he doesn't see the story -- he might be too grossed out to wear them! I will be grossed out ironing them!

I'm not sure what the shirts from Costco means, but I can tell you that the founder of Costco is a huge Obama supporter. He lives here in the Seattle area and hosted a big fundraiser for Obama last month.

Kam, the PS moved around tissue on my lumpectomy side and made a new nipple (looks great, yay!). On the other side she reduced and lifted the breast. I'm not in a lot of pain, but still, would like to not feel any discomfort there someday. Never went through the TE stuff.

Tealiban - that's the best one I've heard in a very long time.  Never have heard RL - don't even know if a station  here carries him.  Full Disclosure - I listen to NPR. Only station - either classical music, or news.  Kinda like my cocoon, choir, whatever ya wanna call it.  As that wonderful line from The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, written by Jane Wagner for her partner Lily Tomlin says: " I tried reality, but as a lifestyle I found it too confining."

So I read Nate Silver ( 538 polls) and none of the others.  

Still remember when a certain VP of the USA was telling us that "sadam hussein was responsbile for 9/11" - and that "Iraq definitely had WMD" - interesting theory, that one about say it often enough and some will think it's true.  Dangerous as a governing policy, but they seemed to get away with it.

Has anyone heard what Pat Robertson said about the weather?  Seriously, tho, hoping all in the path of this are safe, and will be safe.

Mary, the Costco remark was Ann Romney trying to seem human by saying she bought 3 shirts at Costco for Mittens. Awwww ... Isn't that nice. She bought shirts off a table rather than having his usual (undoubtedly custom-made) shirts. The Costco shirts cost $17.99, BTW. I bet they go in the rag bag as soon as they can get rid of them.



Yes, I know the owner of Costco is a big Obama supporter, which is why I continue to shop there. They stock a really depressing number of right-wing books, however ... Limbaugh, Beck, ugh. I suspect it's just the market, though. Make money off of those to give to the President's campaign is a rather delicious irony, come to think of it.

Yram - just search Romney/Costco, I'm sure it will come up.  Another stiff moment trying to look like the average guy avec le wife.  Yes, the irony of him espousing Costco of all things.  Doesn't he even watch 60 minutes (when they featured the owner of Costco)?  Yorkie - that was the exact surgery I was suppose to have until they found brca. Boo hoo.  I thought that would be one of those side benefits of cancer. In fact, at first I could not understand how insurance would even pay for that! BC naive.  Pain does seem to resolve over time....usually.  Keeping my fingers crossed for you.  Susie - hugs back!  Blue Early on, Newsroom got bad reviews, so I didn't watch. As more time when by, more and more people were raving about it.  Guess I will try to watch it On Demand.

Oh, Kam, "The Newsroom" is a MUST-SEE! I am now experiencing severe anxiety because the next season won't start until June 2013! I would give up "Grey's Anatomy" for "The Newsroom." I cry at almost every episode. It is AMAZING!

I've been watching Newsroom as well. It's got the signature Aaron Sorkin preachiness but I did like the monologue last night. Too bad it doesn't really represent todays news programs.........They've all been co opted by the corporations that own them.
