I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

God bless you, 208Sandy!!!!!!!!! Have a nice day, Kathy
-
Dear Alpal, I have not accused anyone else, just Otter, because I knew the motive behind it. God bless you, Kathy
-
Actually (and most of you already know this), all I did in my earlier post was refer to "Kindergarten" by her previous BCO username, which she recently changed to "Kindergarten". Nothing "mean" was intended. Because she badly misunderstood my motives, I've removed that reference.
Some people like to play thimblerig. I was just trying to keep track of which shell the pea was under.

I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.
-
molly, LOL! I think I'll re-discover the location of the "ignore" button. I've had more than enough fun for one morning. Besides, I already ate all the popcorn. (We were out of Cheerios.)
otter
-
See you later Otter. Glad BinVa was not upset by your comment about her squirrel avatar's head and ears I always enjoy your posts.
-
Talking about food ......... did you read the other day, that some blueberry food don't have real blueberries in them. Just purply, blue sugar bits. Cereals and muffins.
Now that's real healthy.
-
I read that, molly! Perhaps there's fine print on the label that we didn't see.
This thread, on the other hand, is properly labeled "...People are strange."
God bless you all!

I haven't left. I'm just re-learning how to use discretion. (I forgot there for awhile.)
Purply-dyed sugar bits??? Oh, that's gross.
We use our own, home-grown blueberries -- none of that fake stuff. We have a dozen blueberry bushes that have finally begun to produce more berries than are eaten while dh is picking them. So we freeze what we don't eat fresh. They're wonderful on cereal or in pancakes this time of year. (Oops. There go the thoughts toward food again.)
I figured Bren would know I was kidding about her avatar.

Did someone comment on my avatar? I missed that post. That avatar is for my friend Rocky. I'm glad people are enjoying it.
Bren

I am the guilty party, Bren. Someone upstream called you "dwarf brain", which you pointed out was not very nice. I replied that you were right -- it wasn't nice; but the squirrel really does have a small head, despite those enormous ear tufts.
(And I sure do know why you picked that avatar. I hope your friend is doing okay.)

-
Popping in to say that I hope our friend is doing ok too.
-
Otter .. you crack me up!
Bren
PS .. Rocky is thriving!
-
Good, good, good!
-
All I can say is, I can't keep up with this frickadelling thimblerig game!

O.M.G. Yesterday was blueberry pancake day! My favorite.
I need to get a waffle iron and try out Otter's recipe.
Thenewme .. stick around .. the strange will wear off on you! hugs!

Damn! Someone let the fruitcakes out! Makes me want to pull up a chair and a bowl of popcorn.
I love everything Squirrel! God bless their cute little heads, even if they only have brains the size of peas. Much better than having a great black hole where their hearts are supposed to reside.
I hate fake blueberry bits! Grew up in Vermont, which is of course why I hug trees and worship everything Bernie! Vermont has the best blueberries.
The ignore button is a wonderful thing. Reduces the roar and the gnashing of teeth down to the sound of crickets.
God bless everyone!
-
I watched a great show on Dr. Phil about bullying.
-
Why do so many of these threads end up this way?
-
That's wonderful Shirley .. maybe you can recommend the show to the same person who sent me TWO hate PM's this a.m.
Bren
PS .. Ang .. I don't have the answer, but I wonder if it isn't because this thread attracts such a wide range of people from all walks of life. I believe it was started 'tongue and cheek' as a new politics thread, but most of us got so silly .. it kind of fell apart on the politics! I'm going to blame my earlier crankiness on severe pain and strange messages so early in the morning.
EDITED: I did go back and edit my snarky post. Being cranky is no excuse for being snarky.
-
Ang -- The big differences between these boards and real life are that, 1. the written word is often much more powerful than the spoken word, and 2. the relative anonymity afforded by websites such as this means posters can get their jollies by attacking and then hiding.
But what they often don't realize is that the targetted person only hurts for a little while, just until they remember that in real life they wouldn't give these people the time of day.
Oh, and having BC in common is frequently the only thing we DO have in common!!!
BTW -- Why is it that the tastiest berries (by far!) are the wild ones? I'm thinking blueberries and strawberries.
-
People are strange, when you're a stranger .......
Faces come out of the rain......
No one remembers your name .......
Sorry, trying to discharge an earworm
-
I love my fresh blueberries. We planted five bushes a few years ago. My next favorie, in pie only, are blackberries .. and I have thousands of them in my fields! Tim loves the blackberry pies too. Good thing I can bake, cause I don't enjoy cooking!
Bren
PS .. Linda, I think you're right .. we have BC in common and silliness too, but we are very diversified in our personalities and backgrounds.
-
I think the children in the sandbox have learned to spell and use the word bullying and turn it into action. Shirley, I wish you have intervened earlier when the real bullying took place.
I believe hate PMs should be posted publicly. There is no expectation of confidentiality or privacy and hateful PMs can be:
1) Reposted;
2) Tracked to the original sender, and
3) Used as a basis for legal action if need be. It's a good idea for us all to remember this, even during unmoderated weekends.
Also, if you're under 18, you probably shouldn't post. :-)
-
Hi Athena .. in the past, it has been my personal policy to post hurtful, mean PMs. But I have changed my mind. I just want to move past it and let it go. Afterall, I've taken my pain meds and had two naps since I got the silly messages! A lifetime ago!
Bren

I am glad you are feeling better.
-
Dear Bluedahlia!! Let me get this straight again, I am not allowed to report a post? Is this a BCO rule? Because if not, this is a free country and I think I am allowed to report a post, if deemed necessary!!!!!GOT IT??? Who made you queen of this gangland(oops, I mean strange land). God bless you and have a wonderful day. Kathy
-
Lurker here: You are all so entertaining, thank you! Except all the foodie is NOT good for my new year's resolutions. I will note that my dh fixed eggs Benedict this noon! Wow, I am so impressed and Full. He's a keeper. (this cooking thing happens about every 2-3 months)
I agree that hate PMs should be posted.
And as far as the sandbox goes: can anyone spell passive/agressive, Boys and Girls? Bless her heart!
What was that book a few years back? " All I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten? Maybe not everyone learned as much as the author did. LOL, at least it looks like that to me. Gotta have folks who stir the pot to keep the thread interesting.
-
To everyone!!!!! The pms I sent to BinVA were not bullying at all, they were just responses to them(Otter and BinVA) bullying me the last few weeks. I would be glad to post them if you would like:Kathy, I am just finally standing up to women that bully others.
-
Dotti .. I loved that book. I still have it. He also wrote "It Was On Fire When I Lay Down On It." Another hilarious book!
My Mr. Tim is a keeper too!
