Time for a champagne toast!
-
Hmmm...I have a bottle of ice wine. I think we'll drink it when DH comes home. I also have champagne if he wants to save the ice wine a little longer.
Now I have to go clean up the pyrex pan that exploded when I took it out of the oven and put it down. Scared me to death.
-
A toast to the Rosemary family baby! Bartender, drinks are on the house tonight!
ETA: Too sweet that she was born at home - was there a midwife, or did the father do the honors?
-
Rosemary - wonderful news about number nine - love the name Daisy.
Hugs, Sandy

The Cabernet ice wine tonight was insane. Oooooh.

Hello all. just got back about an hour ago. Just read back a little and want to congratulate Rosemary on new grandbaby. Welcome back Otter and glad RR is not dizzy anymore. Forgive my CRS syndrome to anyone I missed. I'm a wee bit tired lugging around alll my antiques. Didn't realize it stuck out in someone's mind to mention it. Anyhow am downloading some amazing pics, which may take a while. The trees have started to change up north!
-
No midwife. Dad said he didn't do anything. Then I said "Yes you did you had to catch." He said she did so much.Sometimes my son is so sweet.
She didn't like the hospital so she didn't go for the birth. She did do all her prenatal though.
-
So Daisy sort of came out all by herself...talk about self reliance.
Blue, I love antiques.

Lots more, but I don't want to become redundant.

Oh beautiful pics !! I love the fall! Can't wait to go north again for thanksgiving, so beautiful!
Congrats on the new baby Rosemary..............kinda wish I was a grandma but looks like I'll be waiting a few more years! Just love the smell of new babies and snuggling, it's the best!
-
A toast to Rosemary for the birth of the new grandbaby, and an ice pack for Bren's butt and wrist, as well as a referral to ortho for the bunions she's gonna get from those crazy shoes!
Thenewme, I don't have a recipe for the soup, but I think epicurious.com does, or I'd just make it like chicken rice soup, and substitute the quinoa. In Peru, they had an herb similar to a minty basil (who knows what it really is--I need a Peruvian cook book!) that was so yummy. Some of the soups had potatoes in them, too...
-
Blue .. the fall colors are gorgeous! And you look really good too!
hugs,
Bren

Thanks Bren, hope your wrist is feeling better!

Beautiful pics, blue, but I am *not* ready for winter yet. It never got out of the 50's today, where I am currently located. I am sitting here on the sofa, shivering, 'cause a certain family member has the thermostat set on 62 degrees and the ceiling fan on "high". My sweet dh is huddled in a ball in the recliner, wearing his winter boots, flannel shirt, and most likely his long underwear underneath his jeans. He gave up trying to re-set the thermostat.
Today I've put an awful lot of family heirlooms and my childhood stuff into the "estate sale" pile. You just can't keep it all, right? But it's sad, nonetheless. I just saw my ancient, glazed pottery piggy bank being carried down to the basement where the "estate sale" stuff is collecting. <sigh>
Oh, well. We are making progress.

Beautiful pictures Blue!
And I love your little red car! I want one! What kind of car is it?
Mary
-
Could it be the Nissan Altima coupe?
-
Yep. That's the one E.
-
Very nice car! I was looking at them before I bought Franz, my best friend who is also my car.
-
Sunflowers sending warm welcoming hugs to Daisy, and congratulations to Rosemary. A friend says on hearing of a new baby, "wonderful, wonderful, someone new to love."
Gorgeous photos Blue. Colors are just starting here, much too early, but it's been a stange time.
Bren, hope your wrist is better and strong enough to raise a Large Glass on Saturday -
Early here, thank you Arimidex. But I'll get to see the sunrise
Tagore, another favorite poet, defines Faith: "Faith is the bird that feels the light, and sings while the dawn is still dark."CHIRP, chirp, chirp......
-
Beautiful photos, Blue! No colors here yet but then we're always behind you guys. Had our first chilly night of the season, though, with temps in the 40s. Yayyyy! *comfortable weather high-five to Athena and HL*
-
Brrr... High thirties here. DH fixed the furnace last night. He was highly motivatedby the cold. It's a good thing, he got home after 10:00 last night and now were off to see Miss Daisy. (He has already made jokes.
-
Give that littlest baby a big hug from Aunty Enjoyful! Such wonderful news, Rosemary. :-)
-
Rosemary - Driving to see Miss Daisy. Purrrrfect.
