I saw this on a friend's Facebook and laughed for the first time.
About Weiner, "If you tweet your meat you'll lose your seat." -
Barbara - that is hilarious - glad he's gone.
Blue - hope you're feeling better. That isn't caustic humour - it's Canadian!
Bren - thanks for the picture - it made me smile.
Athena - I "graduated" to six months last week although my PCP still has me on a short leash - because every time she has tried to let me off I end up with things like pneumonia.
-
I read at one point that Weiner was going to some kind of 'treatment'. Then I read that his wife was coming home from a trip. Conclusion ... yeah, he knows he is gonna need some serious medical treatment after she gets done kicking his sorry a$$!
I'm glad he resigned. He was so reckless and more and more keeps coming out. And because it is about sex the media circus will never end ... they love these things and will feed off them for as long as they can. Now if he had taken a bribe or had unethical business dealings they would have moved on to something else within the week. Sorry state of our media these days ... but that's a separate problem.
-
Thank you, Mrs. Weiner, for NOT attending the press conference with your husband. May that tradition continue.
-
Right on, Athena!
-
Athena, where is the like button? I am so sick of the betrayed wife at the press conference.
-
Can someone explain what those stupid riots were about?
-
I mean in Vancouver.
-
Some hooligans came from wherever prepared to riot - they had nothing whatsoever to do with hockey, just dressed as fans to fade into the crowds. Then a whole bunch of people stupidly cheered them on. There are some Facebook sites with people posting pictures of vandals so that they can be prosecuted. Today thousands of ordinary Vancouver people went down to clean up the mess.
-
Sounds like soccer.
-
Sheesh. There are a-holes in every country, aren't there?
-
Ladies .. I'm still feeling so bad about KK. I can't seem to move past the disbelief stage. I can't believe that we will never read another note from her. I'm grateful she's no longer suffering, but selfishly want her back. The dream she had a few weeks back was so lovely .. I hope that is exactly how she left us.
Guess I better get on with my day .. my work load is so slow this week, I've got too much time on my hands.
hugs to all,
Bren
-
I'm feeling the same way Bren.
-
Blue, I didn't want to say anything about it on the "Survivors..." thread but I am appalled at that PM you received. I hadn't put her down as cruel too. I almost wanted to to report your own post because of the information it contained - lol!
Edited to add: And Rosemary - I reported the same post. Again, I keep it here to see if we can let those folks try to get back on topic. I know anything goes in our wonderful thread.
-
Athena, there is definitely a problem there. I should have forwarded it to the mods but I think its better that all know where that person is coming from, and the ones who are feeding her need to rethink their agenda.
-
I haven't posted on that thread, but I do read it. I swear there are some whacky folks on that thread. I wonder if the OP got any information in all those 60+ pages. Mostly, I hope the OP did get some treatment, as I was worried about her being so young and having Stage III.
Blue ... that PM you got was really bad. It was mean and insulting. Not once in all these years have I read a note where you were bullying someone. You are kind, compassionate and really damn smart!
love you buddy,
Bren
-
I agree (Blue but also with Bren). I have never been so hard on anyone in an online forum, but if there are things I can't stand it is: histrionics, lies, manipulation and now cruelty. Third rate courtroom tactics, in other words.
-
Well, she did delete a lot of her posts. There sure are some serious drama queens on that thread.
Where has E been these days? Miss you E!
edited for usual lousy typing

Say good night Patzee.
-
Darn. It's my turn to fix supper tonight. We had venison roast last night. Maybe fish? There's a ton of fish (largemouth bass, bluegill, striped bass) in the freezer, but I'm too unmotivated to come up with creative ways to fix it.
I have figured out how to make it rain here, though: plug the valve to let the wildlife pond re-fill slightly, drag out all the garden hoses, start the jet pump, and irrigate all of our blueberries and native azaleas & rhododendrons. It will rain within 4 hours. Works like a charm!
I saw an intriguing column by Karl Rove in WSJ on the tens of thousands of people who will have their employer-provided health insurance cancelled because it's cheaper for the employers to pay the $2,000-per-person penalty than pay for employee health coverage. But, I won't post the link here, because. Just because.

We are going out tonight and I think I will have a filet, baked potato and salad and a big glass of wine
That PM must have moved you deeply patzee. You have posted it on 2 threads. You said your DH is a DOC. May I ask what kind. There are doctors of many types in my family but none of the specialize in oncology or breast surgery and so I would not rely on their info on those subjects.
-
Sure we'll be doing the same thing. We rarely cook on Fridays..
-
I just got back from beautiful, sunny Florida. The weather was just wonderful. I am now back home and dealing with the usual: my dad is in the hospital again--he had a small heart attack, my mom is unwell--and all you wonderful women here posting.
I was and am devestated by KK's passing. I cannot beilieve she is gone.
As for the trolls/troublemakers on the board, it seems there is a new one every other month. The names may change, but the behaviour is still the same. I see that I will have to put others on ignore.
(((((Blue))))))
-
Mary, welcome back. Nasty reality hit you have had - I am sorry to hear about your father.
-
Mary so sorry about your father and your poor mom, too. And missing KK tons.
-
A pack? Really - says who? I'd never join a "pack." recipes for brussel sprouts??????
-
Thank you, Athena. It seems my parents are constantly in and out of the hospital. It is so difficult, but that is the reality with aging parents.
I love your tagline, Athena!
Thank you, Barbara. BTW, you are so lucky to live in Florida! What a gorgeous place!
-
Mary, sorry to hear about your parents. Hugs!
-
Where in Florida were you, Mary?
-
Mary, I just love it here, heat and all. I am lucky to live on the beach so we have a constant breeze. Way cooler here than in Orlando. I hate going there unless it is November-January (less traffic/tourists and cooler).
