Rosemary .. congratulations on 40 years of wedded bliss .. except when it comes to the kids throwing a party.  Your husband cracks me up.  "Has he met his own children?"  Too funny. 

I am sorry you are suffering from the Femara with pain and fatigue.  Hard to get into a party spirit when you feel like crapola.

Barbara .. I'm sorry to hear you're having a grumpy day.  You are always so upbeat, you're entitled to a little grumpiness!  Sure hope you feel better soon.  I'm also sorry to hear about your job.

Speaking of jobs .. mine sucks.  My work is so slow and it's not getting better.  Thanks to the new healthcare system and all the records being computerized, the transcription business is really taking a hit.  Instead of dictating, the doctors are now entering the info into their laptops during the appointments.  I mostly work for psychologists and to save money, many of them are now typing their own reports.  Can't blame them .. but I'm getting phased out.  argghhhh.

I am at home. The cleaning is almost done but I will have to pick up when they leave. One of the sons will cook and it will be delicious. 

Tonight we are going to a nice restaurant in the nearby resort town, so when DH comes home, I am getting ready to go.

I do feel betternow that I've seen things because it is clean, not the usual war zone when they leave.

Rosemary - happy anniversary - 40 years is a long but I bet wonderful time - glad the "kids" got the place cleaned up and that you're not going to be stuck with it all - gotta love your dh!

I'll bet the Femera is responsible for your fatigue and achiness - I had it big time when I was on it - some people think exercising takes care of the achiness and it may also take care of the fatigue - hope it works for you.

Rosemary - Happiest of happy anniversaries!  40 years is quite the milestone!

Sandy - Yes, the AIs certainly do that to me.  I have severe pain and fatigue from Arimidex, but I went cancer bungee-jumping this week (stopped the Arimidex for 5 days while we're in Ireland) and I feel so much better.  I'm grumpily re-starting it tonight.  Grrrr.... 

Lots of sharp wits on this thread, as always, but I do miss our Elizabeth and her brilliance.  Elizabeth, I hope you're resting comfortably!

Rats, I missed what patzee said.but I was out having a great anniversary dinner. You can tell it has been 40 yeaars. We ate out and then came home to watch a movie.

I had salmon and a crab cake, tomato and cucumber salad and a HUGE strawberry shortcake with ice cream. I may burst.

I have been on Arimidex Aromasin Tamoxifen and Femara and kept switching because of side effects. The aches aren't as bad on Femara but the fatigue is getting me down. I never had that like this before from an AI. I have been on them for 4 years and may not make it to five. There are other health issues (like heart failure from Herceptin) and I need to discuss them with the MDs from a quality of life standpoint.

I was out too Rosemary.  Glad you had a nice dinner.  That's exactly what we would have done too.  Right now we're starting season 3 of TrueBlood, after the hockey game, of course.  Not too crazy about Anna Paquin but it's not too bad on a whole.  Quite a few funny scenes.

BTW, you're gonna be around for way more than 10 years.

I have 7 grandchildren under 6 and one more on the way . The last 3 were born within 4 months during a time when I was questioning everything. I see that as a sign that I would indeed be here a long time.  

Oops I have 8 grandchildren and the one I left out will be mad. In my defense, I have 7 kids and Femara brain

I only have 1 and I look forward to seeing him every weekend.  He knows it too and will only give me upside down kisses.  I think he has his grandma's sense of humour.  What a breath of fresh air the little ones are!

Oh Blue - he's adorable - has your eyes and hair and probably your personality (I hope).  I don't have any of my "own" but do have three borrowed ones who live in South Carolina and one of them is coming up for a week in July and I am sooooo looking forward to her visit.

About the AIs and quality of life - I went off them a year ago as the se's were just too much - my PCP said she understood right away - my onc. wasn't too thrilled but now that I've got clean scans and blood tests again she is fine with my decision - I also have some heart problems - a slightly leaking mitral valve, and of course atrial fibrillation (which is well controlled) and slightly high bp so the daily cocktail of drugs does exhaust me sometimes but I just keep trucking - I do know that a couple of times I have been ultra exhausted and gone in to find out one time my a-fib had kicked in (I am one of those who can't feel it) and another time I had pneumonia so you're right to get it checked out.

Thankyou - I'm hoping they'll send some better pictures. So far they've been too small. For someone who wasn't ready to be a grandmother, I'm quite pleased. I kept telling the kids not to have any babies until I'm 60. He is a year and a bit early and I guess I'll get used to the idea. I found myself looking at baby stuff when I was out shopping today.
