I think the Canucks have left the building tonight! Pitiful so far.
-
Sorry gals. But they are still ahead and can come back and smash the Bruins Wednesday. GO CANUCKS!
-
How embarrassing! But you're right Barbara -- this dreadful loss should definitely put some "fire in their belly" and maybe all that heat will ring some bells and they'll warn the Bruins that they're armed and dangerous and "You can't take our hockey sticks away from us"!
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAA!
-
I read on NHL.com that the Bruins were taunting the Canucks in the third period. I hope you beat 'em BAD!
-
What was the final score. I started watching Season 2 of Trueblood when it was 4-0.
-
I think Boston just played a much more physical game last night, perhaps emboldened by the fans. Home team advantage really IS an advantage. Canucks played a good first period, even with the penalties, but then the Bruins must have gotten a jolt of something in the locker room and came out full force (fire in their belly, maybe?) and the rest of the game was uh, how we say, forgettable!!!!
GO CANUCKS!
-
I am interrupting the hockey talk to bring you my good news - today was onc appointment re six month blood, scans, u/s and EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT. Yaaay!
Thank you all for the nice messages of support I know you're all with me when I go into the room it makes it a lot less scary.
Sandy
-
Sandy -- I was thinking of you this afternoon and hoping you'd check in with us. SO happy for the super good news (big sigh of relief, eh?). Now, it's time to celebrate and do something special for you -- just YOU!!!!
-
Great news, Sandy!! Doing the happy Snoopy dance!!
Weiner's an ass, no two ways about it. MEN.
Regarding Palin - every question she answers like a babbling fool automatically falls under the "gotcha" category for her. What a fool.
-
Yee Gads E - could you believe Weiner? I wish I could figure out what makes these people tick - my laugh of the day was watching Donald Trump tonight on TV call Weiner "psycho" - he would know wouldn't he?
Sandy
-
YAY Sandy!! What a relief to have scans behind us. Trump calling the kettle balck. LMBO.
Weiner is a weiner. And thinks with his weiner.
-
WTG Sandy. I missed Trump, but not losing sleep over it.
-
Blue:
If you missed Trump you didn't miss anything!
GO CANUCKS!
-
Yes, forgot to add GO CANUCKS!
-
Great news Sandy!
And somebody has to say it...Weiner is a weiner.
-
Meant to say HI E!
-
Speaking of the "Weiner scandal", I thought this was interesting (as quoted in an article in today's Globe & Mail):
"In an era where we are more and more tolerant, and less and less embarrassed by various sexual content -- we see more of it on TV and are more explicit about it in our daily conversations -- we're making scandals of things that wouldn't even have been that scandalous in the Victorian era" said Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture at Syracuse University.
I agree. And this so-called sex scandal didn't even involve actual sex! It's as if the media can't find anything else to bring to the forefront by way of news......pathetic!
GO CANUCKS!
-
Hi Everyone!
Sandy .. great news! We love good news always!
The Weiner scandal really bugs me. I guess because he was so stupid to think no one would find out. If my husband was sexting another woman while we were newlyweds I'd kick him to the curb. Especially if we both had high profile jobs. It's an embarrassment to his wife, and makes him look like a silly fool. He may be a good congressman, but he brought this on himself by acting like a stupid high school boy.
Bren
-
Bren: Yes, but! How important is it? Did it hurt anyone besides his wife? The women he sexted seemed happy enough to play along until they decided they wanted their 15 minutes of fame -- courtesy of the opposition party. Do the people who elected him consider that he hasn't done a good job in representing them? I mean to say -- yes, it bugs a lot of people, but it hasn't affected you or 3 hundred million Americans one way or another. It's just plain silly, IMHO.
(You know I'm just replying to you for the sake of argument, sweetie
)
-
Hi Linda ... yea .. he didn't do anything to me .. you're right about that. What irritates me so much is how stupid he is. He may be a great lawmaker, but he's got the maturity of a 16 year-old boy.
And why in the heck are woman sexting married men? If everyone is doing it, I must be missing out on something. I think I might have to sext Tim .. except I don't know how to send a text message! ha!
Love ya Linda!
-
Mark Foley did not have sex, just sexy text messages and he was forced to QUICKLY resign. (So the kid was a college kid. So was one of Weiner's sexting partners.) Both Foley and Weiner did inappropriate things our elected officials should not be doing. So Weiner should go, too.
This whole thing is stupid and Weiner staying and us spending money on yet another congressional investigation is a waste of time and my money. He needs to go.
-
Agreed Barbara that another investigation is a waste of time and money. Whether he should resign or not, I'm a little ambivalent about it. If he was my congressman and he had done great things for my district, I wouldn't want him to resign.
Hugs,
Bren
PS .. It's awfully damn hot here in southern VA!

Weiner got busted because of a typo on Twitter. That is too funny. It was an accident that he got caught according to the article.
Do any of you Twitter? I've never even seen a twitter page.
Bren

As someone said (sorry, can't remember who) if all congresscritters were to be judged according to their morality and so-called "moral" behaviour -- who would be left? And who should be the judge?
I wasn't aware of it at the time (never made the news up here I guess) but David Vitter was "actively engaged" with prostitutes and he's still in Washington.
Hey Bren -- it's "too damn hot" today here as well. I think I'll start my own "Too damn hot" political party and see if I can get our climate adjusted!!!!!
-
It is hot here, too, but interestingly it has never gone above 95 since I have lived here (17 years). And we always have a 5-10 mph breeze. Now, Orlando, no way! It is routinely 99 and 100% humid with no breeze. Ugh. Sorry y'all are sweltering. You went from winter to summer with very little spring.
I agree, Linda, who can be the judge when they are all without morals?
-
Hey, everyone. I'm sure you're glad to see me....
I came to BCO to check on Elizabeth. I havn't been here in a while and I'm ashamed that I haven't checked on her sooner. Some of the "other" ladies were concerned. Thus, I came over. And then thought I'd just check out what you gals were saying about "current affairs".
You can hate Palin and think she's stupid. However, you cannot deny the fact that she was correct and many, many people...including perhaps some of you and me and SMART people, didn't (perhaps) know the entire history of Paul Revere's roll. But, you would think the press would get invesigate a bit further before thowing out lies about Palin. Think Progress is funded by Soros...just one of his "think tanks ("reporters" who try to spin the truth"). He hates Palin and republicans and really hates Fox News and Glenn Beck. That has nothing to do with this.....or does it? It is really hilarious how they can't just leave her alone.
I think people should admit they were wrong about this incident....They find it very hard. Seems like no one wants to give her credit for anything.
Here's an interview with a historian on NPR. It's posted on another site. The below is another link. I cannot take credit for find these, but thought if you have not been over to visit recently, you may would to read the truth. The first one is from NPR. One is can listen to or the next link you can read. I perfer to listen to the voices.

Or, if you want to educate yourself, you can read Paul Revere's "version"...unless he was lying.

Letter from Paul
Revere to Jeremy Belknap, circa 1798.....From the manuscript collection, Accounts of his famous ride
-
Shirley .. it's nice to see you. Hope all is well with you.
Palin screwed up .. nothing new there.
Bren

I copied this link from a friend. Sarah's midnight ride on the publicity bus!
-
Weiner didn't just send an inappropriate picture to everyone on his twitter list (some of whom are probably under age and therefore it could qualify as distributing pornography to minors), when he was caught, he lied. He lied to his wife, and to his constituents and to his colleagues and to the media and to law enforcement. He lied over and over for a week until the evidence made it impossible to keep up the lies.
The Megan's Law sex offender list is a more appropriate place for that moron than congress is.
Just because Palin didn't recite the grade school sound bite version of the story of Paul Revere that most people were taught doesn't mean she was wrong. She got the more in depth story that is told at the various historical sites she visited, That more in depth story was what she tried to share with the reporter, but that didn't fit well into the sound bite that the reporter wanted, so the reporter's sound bite became that Palin was wrong rather than that the story is more complicated than many people realize.
