I agree with you konakat... Oooohhhhh Roberto!!! LOL What an exciting series, didn't know if they were going to pull their a$$es out of the fire.
-
Gracie, you brought back memories of my grandmother's basement where she had what she called a mangle. I was scared to death of it since she told me horror stories of little girls who put their finger in it and their arm came out flat as a pancake. I had completely forgotten that.
I guess it is true that the short term memory goes first.
-
mmmmmmm....goalie meat!
-
OK, Have to say it for tonight: GO LIGHTNING!!! Boo Pens!
-
txstardust, I saw that Forbes article and found it compelling. Welcome to Morrison Manor! Lurk or speak up as you desire. The inn-keepers here will keep the light on for you, and a plate of brussel sprouts in the oven for your snack!
-
This really cracked me up. But it also disturbed me.
-
Linda, I guess Vermont gets it!

So the birthers get their way and the President will produce in an hour his long form hand written birth certificate. This has been a big waste of his time brought about by people who complain every time he takes any time off.
Where is the logic or consistency in that? Why is he the first President asked to produce a birth certificate. Because his background is a little different?
The man has 2 wars to fight, a recession and unrest in the Middle East to worry about. He should not have to deal with this. Just watch some right winger will say he didn't do a good job as President because he had to focus on birthers .
Now candidate(?) Trump wants Obama's college transcripts. Where are Trump's college transcripts and birth certificate? The birth certificate he released was the same type Obama has already released that was not enough (a copy). If Trump has released his college transcript I did not hear of it. He needs to go through the process of having a press conference to release these basic documents just as Obama has had to.
I can't believe the President of the United States has to go through this nonsense. Never before. This country is going to h*ll in a handbasket, led by right wing nuts and those who want to destroy the basic principle of equality of which this country is so proud..
-
Rosemary, I agree. Total BS. Trump is a chump.
-
I loved the president's short little speech and I so loved the "carnival barker" comment.
-
Furthermore, he only got into Harvard Law School because he was black. Or maybe because he has big ears? It's time to STFU about all this and get on with solving the problems of our country.
-
People if "Trump the Chump" considers THIS a victory HE is the biggest CHUMP around, imo! If the Repubs even give him "any" consideration as a Pres. candidate now, it will be like a present to the Demos and we have just seen who the next President will be in 2012. As Obama said, with all the serious problems facing our country, this " bozo" (my words not Obama's) is bitching about a birth certificate and now he's whining about a college thing. Will someone PLEASE put The Donald back in his cage so we can get to more serious business? I am just disappointed that Obama gave him any validity by responding to him! What a joke!
-
I just watched Obama's speech on the news and Trumps rhetoric. Now, I have to admit I have no idea how American politics work, but what's the deal? Are there any American's who take Trump seriously and why does Obama feel it necessary to get into it with him? I like Obama, but always wonder why he knuckles under on every issue. A strong president, IMO, would have ignored the idiot and eventually Trump would have crawled back under his rock from embarassment, after throwing his little hissy fit.
Barbara, I had to laugh at the "mangler". I was terrified of the furnace in my mom's basement. The thing looked like something out of a Stephen King book.....I was pretty sure it was going to eat me.
-
Oops, seems me and Medigal cross-posted, but I really do want to know.....who in America cares what Trump thinks?
ETA: how could I forget? YAAAAAAAY HABS!!!!!
-
Gracie, I am afraid there are *some* people who take the Chump seriously. God help us.
-
I have no idea why Trump is taken seriously. I have always considered him a joke.
-
Cindy, I agree re. dog whistle.
Gracie, unfortunately there has been a sizable minority that continued to trumpet the birther conspiracy and the American corporate owned media kept the whole thing going - kept the camera on the conspiracy theorists. Whether it's because they're corporate owned and tilt to the Republicans or because they love stoking fires I don't know - either way it was taking up way too much oxygen.
-
gracie1 ... the same idiots who were already spouting all the 'birther' nonsense. And what ever other kinds of stuff they can create out of their airheads. I wish I could say it will be entertaining to see what they come up with next ... but it won't be entertaining ... it will be disgusting.
And Trump is a chump indeed! Wonder what stupidity he will pander to next to keep his name in the news.
As for Obama releasing the birth certificate. Letting them foam at the mouth for a couple of years about it didn't work. At some point you just have to say 'Let me be the adult here and put a stop to this craziness' ... so Obama did.
-
Wow.....blows my mind that anyone would give Trump the time of day. He's the kind of guy, that I think if you touch him....he'd be sticky!......with cooties!
-
They will find something else to crab about. Idiots!
-
Hmmmph ... well here comes blue acting all innocent. We know this is really a Canadian plot to make Americans look like the silliest people on the planet. The Canadians want to take over the world you know. Pass it around ... danger, danger
-
hehehe! You're one smart cookie!
Seriously though.....I have never heard of such crazy business when there are real issues to deal with. I can't imagine what the rest of the world is thinking.
Now the Donald is taking credit for getting the President to show his birth certificate. It was a non-issue goof-ball. I have lost all respect for that guy.
-
Hey Rabbit -- remember...we've got the OIL! Oh, and lots of natural gas too! (And I don't mean cowfarts!).
Great to see the HABS win, the CANUCKS win, and Patrick Chan's short programme at the Worlds Figure Skating competition set a new world record. WooHoo!!! We're on a roll. Watch out neighbours!
(Hey, if Trump the Chump can brag about nothing, surely I can brag about something)
-
All that hockey talk is just code ... we are onto you
I CAN imagine what the rest of the world is thinking ... and it isn't pretty.
But ... if we have to be taken over I would choose Canadians ... you seem like such a sensible, likable bunch
-
I understand some right wing commentators are giving Trump the "credit" for getting Obama to release his birth certificate. Fine by me It is something to be ashamed not proud of.
-
Hey, the biggest thing we Canadians have to brage about is - we don't have Donald Trump!!
-
A friend (who shall remain nameless) suggested that maybe the 'birthers' need to go back to looking for Elvis. Best suggestion I've heard all morning
-
GO HABS!
-
Interesting stats:
A New York Times-CBS News poll last week showed that while 57 percent of Americans believe that President Obama was born in the United States, against 25 percent who didn’t, just 33 percent of Republicans believed him American-born, while 45 percent did not. The Republican level of birtherism was effectively identical to that of self-identified Tea Party supporters, 34 percent of whom thought Obama was U.S.-born, while 45 percent did not.
-
As I mentioned several pages back, the only way the birthers will believe that Obama is an American is if they could see a videotape of the actual birth taking place next to the Statue of Liberty--of course his mother would be holding a newspaper so everyone could make sure the date of birth is correct.
As for Trump winning--yeah, he is winning as much as Sheen is. The fact is that Trump is a racist pig who cannot believe that a Black man could get into Columbia and Harvard, He keeps talking about his friends sons not getting into those schools. Not the daughters, mind you. Only the sons. This racist questioning will not go away. The birthers will try to find someone else that Obama has to reveal. Soon it will be his transcripts, then a DNA sample, then amniotic fluid, then where his parents actually did the deed, etc. etc. The fact is the birthers will never accept that a Black man could be smart enough to get into great schools or become president.
On a brighter note, the HABS WON LAST NIGHT!!! WOO HOO! Now, we need to beat the Bruins in Boston, It is going to be a great game tonight. GO HABS!!
Edited to add: GO HABS!!!
