Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
"Hey, have you ever been dragged to the sidewalk and beaten until you PISSED BLOOD?"
-
Matchstick Men
"I'm not killing people....my future's in television."
-
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Was Sam Rockwell's performance of Chuck Barris spot on or what?
"You look like a radioactive tampon... like a banana with a yeast infection".
-
So agree with you on Sam Rockwell. I loved him in the Green Mile and Box of Moonlight. If you have not seen Box of Moonlight, please do. It's a great movie and also stars John Turtoro.
Moon
"If there's anything around here more important than my ego, I want it caught and shot now!"
-
Blockbuster's gone, we had three Roger's (Canadian store) close down so they could spend more money on our baseball team, our crappy Canadian version of Netflix doesn't have it, and our Video on Demand service doesn't have it either. I'll never get to see it.
Hopefully, I'll run across it in a BestBuy or something. I'll keep an eye out. Gawd, I miss those days where I could just peruse movies in a video rental place. All the mom & pop rental places are long gone too.
The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy
"There we were minding our own business, just doing chores around the house, when kids started killing themselves all over my property".
-
Gracie, check and see if your library can get it for you...
-
That's a great idea. Never even dawned on me...I haven't set foot in a library since my kids were pre-schoolers. I'll give them a call.
-
Aww, called the library....no luck. Sign of the times with budget cuts I guess. If it's not in their circulation, they won't get it unless someone donates it. Did find it for sale on ebay. I think I'll order.
-
Hi Gracie! If you are really desperate you can rent ($2.99) or buy ($9.99) the download at ITunes..but you have to watch it on your computer, I think. We do it all the time, as we don't have a TV in the house.
But do get a library card and take out movies...My library will let me take 6 at a time for FREE! Plus they have an odd selection and I have seen some movies I never would have gotten elsewhere.
Happy Holiday, Friends!
-
Thanks for the tips Suzanne!
-
IDK the answer, but I wanted to report that I did rent Box of Moonlight on Itunes, and wow it was a pleasure! I also wanted to recommend "Moonrise Kingdom" which is in theaters now. I saw it yesterday and it is so great! Quirky and awesome! Have a great day!
-
Ordered Box of Moonlight off the net. Looking forward to watching. I read some of the reviews of Moonrise Kingdom...they were really good. Another one I'll have to check out. Thanks!
-
Tucker & Dale vs Evil (needed help with this one). Never saw it, is it any good? I like a good hick movie now and then.
"Do right, and you'll live through this. Spoken like a true Protestant."
-
Hannibal
I think you'd like it. Been a long time since a movie made me laugh out loud.
"I think it'd be cool, you get to go from place to place saying things like 'that's not a knife - this is a knife'."
Very scary movie.
-
Wolf Creek...good movie....
"I want you to get married. I want you to have nine children. And if you only spend five minutes a day with each kid, that's forty-five minutes, and I'd at least have time to go out and get a massage or something."....a classic!
-
White Christmas.
I'll say this one is a double take. Can't have one without the other. Two of the greatest actors of all time.
1) "You know, we are sitting here, you and I, like a couple of regular fellas. You do what you do, and I do what I gotta do. And now that we've been face to face, if I'm there and I gotta put you away, I won't like it. But I tell you, if it's between you and some poor bastard whose wife you're gonna turn into a widow, brother, you are going down."
2) "There is a flip side to that coin. What if you do got me boxed in and I gotta put you down? Cause no matter what, you will not get in my way. We've been face to face, yeah. But I will not hesitate. Not for a second." -
Heat
Cool SheChirple that you liked Wolf Creek too! Did you see Eden Lake? Like Wolf Creek, but British, and way more disturbing....disgusting even, but engaging.
"You think I'm crazy? Well, listen up, there's a storm coming like nothing you've ever seen, and not a one of you is prepared for it".
-
Take Shelter....I liked it.
This is from a new movie that is very worthwhile...we'll see if anyone else has seen it yet!
There's no sense in nonsense, especially when the heat gets hot.
-
Safety Not Guaranteed..... good movie.
"I don't want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me."
-
The Departed
Three tits. That's awesome.
-
Paul
"Of course, on the bright side, those are your teammates that you f*cked up out there. What do you say son, you wanna be an Assassin?"
-
Goon
"How do you tell a child that she was born to be hurt?"
-
Imitation of Life (classic)
"I'm Cherry. You sure are." (this might be a hard one but a great movie to check out)
-
Planet Terror. (That Cherry Darling was tough)
"This is the first baby born in 20 years and you want to name it Froley?"
-
Children of Men - great movie!
"You need sortin' out, you do."
"So you keep sayin' But you're nothing to me. So why should I care what you think?"I highly recommend this movie, especially if you're a Michael Fassbender fan.
-
Fish Tank
"Somebody planned this double cross, who was it?"
"You're such a smart investigator, find out!"
-
I'm stumped.....and I know them all.......hint please?
-
This movie was made in the 30's.
An insurance investigator tangles with a fraud ring unaware his wife is involved in the scam.
The lead actor became one of the most powerfur men in the world.
Good Luck!!
-
Is it Double Indemnity?
-
No.
Last clue, Ronald Reagan was the star.
Back in 24 hours with the answer.
Good Luck!!!!!!
