ALHusband, can I ask why your wife couldn't have adriamycin
-
LoveMyVizsla she couldn't have Adriamycin because she had had stage 4 lymphoma 17 years prior, which they treated with Adriamycin. There is a lifetime limit to how much Adriamycin one can have without risk of Leukemia and/or heart damage.
-
Thanks ladies for the support. I'll keep you posted.

Hello everyone,
I am just popping in from the UK to send best wishes for Christmas and the New Year from everyone on the UK thread. We are thinking of all of you going through treatment and telling you that you can get through all this. I am now ten and a half years from diagnosis and you can do the same.
Happy New Year.
Sylvia

Well ladies, I am pleased to report that the doctor is confident that what my wife is feeling is nothing that's not supposed to be there. He gave an explanation of what she was feeling, which included the rib, the implant and the muscle and some inflammation, but I didn't really follow as I was just happy to hear he doesn't think it's anything at all. He ordered an ultrasound for next week for peace of mind. All the glory to God! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and Merry Christmas to all!
-
AL great news!!! WooHoo! Happy dancing for your wife
-
Al thank goodness. So happy for you guys. Thank you for sharing your praise reports. God bless

al...so happy to hear that the doctors are not worried about her lump. If you remember , even I found a lump but far away from the site of surgery..my BS then remarked that had it been right next to the surgery, It would have in all likelihood been a scar tissue. Hope the ultrasound comes all clear.
I agree with Al and everyone...cocker has been a huge support just like many others here...we have been talking since the past 2 years and more...few were regular earlier and now we see more new faces. I am sure all are doing well wherever they are.
Simple: the back pain has shown slight improvement...not with the oral muscle relaxant but with rest and the topical muscle relaxants avl over the counter. Thanks for remembering
ally: keeping fingers crossed and waiting for positive results from your side. You got PCR ...it should not be cancer again.
Thanks also for the information about the TNBC vaccine trial!
Tomm Santa is supposed to come and I am packing all the gifts now ...My 7 year old is very excited. One of her wishes was that Mom should not get cancer and Dad should be safe during his travels. I was touched. She specifically instructed me not to put on the fire in the fieplace since Santa enters houses from there and might get burn injuries if the fire is on. Some photo sessions with Santa at a nearby mall happened...A rare Christmas morning today, in T shirts and spring jackets...no chill at all..forget the snow. Man polluted the planet and now by n by affects are showing up in various ways.
Wishing you all good health and happiness
-
BanR, glad your little one got to see santa. It is so weird that you are writing about Christmas morning when it is barely Christmas eve here in the states!
Wishing everyone a wonderful week, holidays as they apply, and good cheer all around!
-
Seasons Greetings! Best Wishes to All!
-
Best wishes to all triple negative ladies. Remember, TNBC is only descriptive term, no prognostic meaning
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
-
Yes, We love Cocker Spaniel! And Merry Merry Christmas to all, Sylvia in the UK and everyone of my friends here all over the world.

-
Merry Christmas everyone! You all are like family to me and help me more than you know! God bless you all! Love you so much!

Hello there!
I was hoping to get some feedback. I have #4 of weekly (neoadjuvant) Taxol on Monday and will see my MO for the first time since kicking off chemo on 12/7. I had asked her how she will assess my tumor's response as I go through Taxol/Carboplatin and then AC with surgery to follow. She said she would do physical exams throughout but I expected to hear her say an ultrasound at least. Should I ask for one?
Also, as I know this is a judgement free zone I can share that I was unable to have a breast MRI because I literally couldn't fit in the machine (I am a size 18 and 44D). I am in Chicago at major regional medical center and was shocked at this. Anyone ever hear of this problem? I guess open MRIs do not work for breast imaging. The team told me not to worry and said some patients can't have MRIs for a variety of reasons, including claustrophobia which frankly would have done me in even if I was a size two lol.
Anyway just let me know what you think! Feel free to PM me. Hope y'all are having a good holiday season.
-
Angtee, since AC and surgery are the next part of your treatment plan, it is unlikely that whatever an ultrasound does or doesn't reveal, would change the planned treatment. All the best to you!
-
Angtee,
The physical exam every three weeks is standard procedure. I had a second MRI after the carbo/taxol but that was because I saw a specialist and he wanted it, my regular onc had no issue doing it but it wasn't planned.
