Michelle - Don't feel too guilty about those chips. I can easily eat an entire bag (not the small ones) in one sitting as well. Chips are definitely my downfall so I try not to have them in the house.
Sheila - Congrats on finishing treatment! Now that you're done with Femara is your onc going to do anything else or is that it?
-
Checking in for team Hummingbirds -
I did lose two of the five pounds I gained on vacation but still not at the weight I was when I started this project. How come it is easy to gain five pounds in a week but only lose two pounds the following week? I just don't get it.
Anyway - checking in on Friday: 3 pts.
Water intake: 7 pts.
Exercise: 8 pts. (I did kick it up one notch!)
Total = 18 pts.
-
Roadrunner checking in = 3 pts
Weight down (178) = 2 pts
Exercise only 8 pts this week; need motivation
Water only 3 pts; just can't get it together
Extra = 1 pt; had 6 month med onc appt - no issues and I don't consider it NED until after diag mammo in May as the orig lump did not appear until mammo found it.
Total = 17 pts.
-
hummingbird checking in
Friday check in = 3 points
Weight 175.4 (new elab low!!!) = 3 points

Water = 6 points
Exercise = 8 points (spring cleaning marathon)
Total = 20 (still at the 20+ mark!!!!)
About those chips...my trigger, they were on sale for $1.88 I couldn't resist (usually we don't purchase chips but this time we got 5 bags).
Interesting note and maybe TMI...I have been having issues with constipation since dx. I make sure to eat lots of fiber and healthy stuff. The day after my chips overload I had the best BM I have had in a long time (maybe that is were the weight loss came from). My body just seems to function better on crap food, this is not the first time junk food has regulated my body functions.
I am heading out for Las Vegas this morning for a long four day girls get away, won't be checking in much until Monday evening. Have a great weekend everyone!!!!
-
This is my highest in a long time - ugh! I was gone most of the week at conferences and work is the busiest since before I was diagnosed. Good and bad. I'm exhausted but yea for being busy.
Friday check in = 3 pts
Weight up (135) = 0 pts
Exercise = 6 pts
Water = 7 pts
Extra = 1 pt; Didn't have the afternoon snack at the conferences and when I was having an ice cream panic moment this week I stayed away from the freezer. That was a terrific fight for me and I won (although the weight doesnt show it)
Total = 17 pts
I think some of my weight is water and poo - it's so hard to keep that under control when you're traveling. This week more travel and I don't get to sleep at home, on the road Monday through Friday. I vow to use the hotel exercise equipment and/or swim whenever the hotel has one or the other.
-
Glad to see everybody, already checking in!
Deborye, you were just being extra organized & planning ahead. Way to start the reporting off with a smile!
Renee, happy birthday weekend to you. Have a great weekend & then find your wagon wheels to begin next week with us 'on-the-wagon-girls'!!! LOL.
Today is our wedding anniversary (17th) and also my 4th cancerversary of my first diagnosis.... so it's a pretty monumental day. We're headed to a new place for us, as we heard they are hosting a Plein Air Painting Festival (my favorite thing on earth!!) The sun is shining & I'm smiling from ear-to-ear.
-
Happy Anniversary and cancerversary Faithie!
-
o2bh, I find that happens to me when I OD on "low-fat" junk, probably because they add other stuff we don't want to know about to make it taste 'good'.
Had a long drive last evening so I picked up a bag of chips to keep me company. They were the baked ones (better for you, right?). Had horrible foot cramps that kept coming back when I lay down last night, for several hours. Bet it was whatever they added to them and bet I will stay away from them from now on. I do get cramps now and then and need to keep a record of triggers to see if there is a common ingredient.
Enjoy Vegas.

HUMMINGBIRD Check-in:
Checking in on Fri = 3 points
Weight maintained = 2 POINTS!!! 135.8
Reporting my all time ELAB low on a Fri, for the second time!!! I actually saw a lower number earlier in the week (prior to being taken out to dinner & hostess insisting that I have snow crab.... and the restaurant served baskets of hush puppies dipped in confectioners sugar throughout the meal -- I showed absolutely no common sense..... so getting back to last week's low was an under-taking..... but life is for living, then ya gotta pay the piper: LOL) You shoulda seen my smile when it registered back to 135.8 this morning. LOL

Things have been very difficult with Mum recently - it's just impossible to get any quality sleep - a neighbour who is a nurse noticed I was struggling - I was offered emergency respite care for Mum today and I accepted. Mum will be looked after in a local nursing home for the next two weeks to give me a break - I hope she will settle. I have so much work I need to catch up on!! One big problem when I'm stressed is I eat and then my idea of relaxation always seems to include food so I've been stressed lately hence the weight gain but now if I relax and let my defences down I'll compound the problem by eating even more!!!!

Congratulations on your successful fund raising Ainm, that is an awesome amount! I am so glad you're getting some much needed respite. It takes a special person to care for one or both parents and while I've never had to do this, I know several people who have and all have a kindness in their heart that I envy. Enjoy your two weeks off!
