Baby it's cold outside

Mary, they usually have the white lights, but at Christmas the lights were the multi colored ones. It felt so festive.
DH and I are heading to the Bay area next month for our anniversary. I hope the temps are not too hot. Unfortunately there aren't too many places in CA that you can drive for a long weekend that aren't hot in August.
-
See my hand up Meece??? No heat here...
-
Weatherman just said 'normal weather patterns for July in the Carolinas' highs in the 90's with chances of rain every afternoon this week. We may even get a morning shower this morning, rain coming in from the West.

smithlme, You are about 7 and a quarter hours from me. It would be just about a day of driving each way if you count potty stops and stopping to sightsee. Someday I plan on taking DH up Hwy 1 along the coast up to Oregon.
-
We are having what I consider my Dream Summer! Hot enough, only a few days in the 90s, enough rain to not ruin the entire day but enough to water the gardens. I've enjoyed sitting on my deck so much this year. Mother Nature is making up for the crappy weather last summer!
-
Please don't rub it in, Suz. We got news that it will be back around 106 by Friday. More of the same through the weekend.
-
We're supposed to get hot and humid again tomorrow. Sorry to rub it in Meece although I know you'll return the favor in the winter
-
Ummmm....cool and foggy here again. Different day, same fog!
-
Some of us can complain about the heat cause it really gets hot, but yes, when we reach anything below 45 degrees in the winter, we are convinced we are freezing. There is a pay off for where ever we live. I love being able to go to the beach in the winter
-
We have had some pretty bad summer thunderstorms the past two afternoons with a funnel cloud sighted about 15 miles south of me on Monday. Yesterday there was another funnel cloud sighted closer to Charlotte, several lightning strikes that caused house fires and trees uprooted in the Charlotte area. We need the rain but not all at once and in storm conditions. They are calling for more of the same through Friday. It is staying hot and humid - perfect weather for the creation of the storms.

We're beginning a rather long streak of hot weather (I love it). We'll have to see how the rain goes. I love not having to water my flowers. We did start the day with lots of fog but it burned off by 8:00.
As an aside, if anyone has an extra prayer they can spare I'd appreciate it. The docs found something on my arm (Humerus bone) x-ray (arm has been hurting since I began radiation in October) so I had a PET Scan yesterday and am extremely anxiously awaiting results.
Hope it warms up a little for you Smith.
-
Only 97 yesterday, we had a bit of a cool spell. Should be warming up again, I should be able to put my winter coat away by Friday.
-
That's funny Meece, in the spring time in Michigan, if it gets above 50 we're all running around in our shorts and flip flops!!!
-
Suzette, saying a prayer for you. Hot hot hot in San Antonio.
-
Suz, we posted yesterday about the same time, so I didn't see your request. Will definitely say a pray for you. Didn't mean to ignor you.
((((Suzette))))
-
Thanks ladies, the prayers worked. No Cancer! I can't express how much relief I feel.
Well, it's hot today (I love it) and we're supposed to have severe thunderstorms later today. Hope I don't have to drive home from work in a thunderstorm!
-
Suz, thank God for the good news. Thought of you last night while on the Riverwalk. Enjoy your day.
-
Great news Suz!!!! We actually have sunshine today. I took a walk along the ocean this morning but it was cool and foggy along the coast. We're about 3 1/2 miles from the beach so some days we have warmer weather.
-
Thanks ladies.
We had a "cold" front come through last night, lots of storms and rain. So, it's only 77 degrees at 11 am and our high will only be 86 today
I LOVE SUMMER! Our Schwan's delivery man told us he heard we may get into the 100s next week (that rarely happens here, like once every 10-20 years).
EDITED PS: Smith, so glad you finally got some sunshine and Mary, thanks for thinking of me on the riverwalk. Hope you're enjoying San Antonio.
-
Last night the temps were in the low 70's, we had a rain shower come through before 6:00 am. This afternoon it is hot and humid (temp 91 but feels like 97 due to humidity). It looks like some showers are beginning to form in the area again. We have had the same forecast all week long and it appears to hold through the weekend, hot, hazy, humid and chances of thunderstorms.

In the words of one of my favorite movie characters of all time: (be sure to wring your hands) "You wicked little girl(s)! I'm melting........................"
-
Speaking of melting, my DH and I spent the last 4 hours @ the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. It had to be in the 100's. Shade was nice and we stuck our feet in the water in a couple of places. Cooling off at the hotel.
-
When we go to our Botanical Gardens we have to wear a jacket! It's right along the coast and breezy.
-
It has been warm here this weekend, but not nearly as hot as they expected. I spent the afternoon in the backyard, in my swimsuit, working on the garden and pond. I sprayed lot's of SPF50 sunscreen on, and still got a nice tan, mostly on my back as I was bent over plants.
Our "botanical" gardens is all about desert type plants, not too refreshing.
-
104 yesterday, but today it should only get to be 103!
-
Our forcast for today says sunny and hot with a high of 92 with no mention of rain, but it is not yet 10 AM, the temp is falling fast, currently 75, and it is pouring.
I think that the weather guessers in Philadelphia got it wrong today.
-
They got it wrong here in NC. They said 60% chance of afternoon thunderstorms with temps in the 90's. We are getting a light shower now and the temps are close to 80 but with the rain, it will keep the temps down. My son was supposed to mow my parent's lawn this morning before it started raining, but he missed his opportunity since it started raining about 9:30 am.

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I want rain!
-
If I could send you some rain, I would. We have gotten rain most afternoons for the past week but also have the high temps along with the rain.
Sheila
-
We had some sprinkles and thunderstorms on Friday, which unfortunately resulted in a wild fire or two locally. Pure blue skies today.
