wonderland, thanks and love the pumpkin pics
Went to Zumba last night we had a sub instructor, she did a lot of low impact which bothers my knees. I made it through the class.
-
LOVE the pumpkins! You ladies are the best motivators ever!!
I cleaned house on Saturday and did 45 minutes on the treadmill, then walked a 5K for my honey's company on Sunday. I did not exercise at all on Monday thanks to a scheduled colonoscopy (which was clear!!). I had my Herceptin infusion yesterday and walked 45 minutes on the treadmill so I'm pretty much feeling like Wonder Woman at this point.
Down 9 pounds as of today. About to take a 15 minute break from work and go for a quick walk.
Get out there and move today, ladies!!

Duplicate of my post from Hill Country Ladies Thread:
Hill Country Ladies and Daily Exercise Ladies:
As a San Antonian, may I suggest Acenar Restaurant as the meeting place for October 23. Acenar restaurant is part of Valencia Hotel with a separate entrance on 146 E. Houston Street, San Antonio, TX. It is about 2 and one-half short block from the hotel west of Daily Exercise Ladies' hotel and around corner from Hill Country Ladies planned hotel. It has a bar on the street level and restaurant is on the River Level. Below is the link for you to check out the restaurant.
http://acenar.com/downtown/ (if the link does not go live, someone please help)
If you like the place to meet, I can help make a reservation under "BCO Ladies" for October 23 at 1pm. Just need someone to tell me how may ladies will be getting together from each group. -
I'd love to go to San Antonio! Maybe next get together...
Went swimming with Manta Rays last night. That involved some lugging of gear, some swimming, and a lot of floating around. We did get to see manta ballets however, within a few inches of my snorkel mask.
Walking a bit today and enjoying the weather, which has cooled off here (a good thing for planning walks)
Aloha;

Nerve pain sucks. I have tingling and numbness in my fingers quite frequently but mine is totally related to neck issues and happens mostly when I'm lying down. Twice-monthly visits to my chiropractor help a lot. Wishes for good results for you planb.
Ruth - you poor thing! I prescribe a week in San Antonio in late October to cure the kitchen remodel blues
Wonderland - what beautiful creativity! I'm the type that would have to buy the stick-in decorating thingies to make pumpkins look cool.
4-year diagnosis anniversary today but that also means only about 14 months of Arimidex to go
Week 2 day 2 of c25k yesterday was a sprint workout!!!!! omg - my sprint is nothing more than a slightly souped up version of a slow trot....lol
Week 2 day 3 of c25k today was cross-training - 35 minutes on Precor trainer at the gym.
DH has dinner ready for me then it's choir practice.
Have a great night all!
-
Cling, that sounds awesome! I will PM you.

One of my walking friends & her DH (a retired biologist) live out in the country on 25 acres; which they have transformed into a Garden of Eden. Groomed walking trails, various species of trees & plants that he has transplanted (and studies). Stunning & this is where we were lucky enough to walk today! (In picture #1 DH is showing us a map!)
-
Wonderland, happy belated birthday! You have SUCH good genes my dear. :-)
Love the Garden of Eden pix, Ruth. Glad you're enjoying nature & not chasing Pokémon. ;-)
Met up with friends after work. Great fun and yummy food (chicken pot pie and an Oatmeal Stout).
Did get out for a 7th inning stretch this aft, nice break but brief as windy & cool on a busy day.
-
Made it through Zumba class tonight, knees are burning. Taking the next few days off.
-
Good idea Candi07 and Ruth, like WW photo. S&S on the downward slope for Arimidex - yay! Wonderland, happy birthday and another excellent batch of pumpkins; I'd happily buy one, Happy belated anniversary Mary & DH. Had a meeting yesterday with the local surgery (village NHS doctor office) office manager submitting a proposal to conduct a 12 week cancer rehab exercise workshop in the multi-purpose room above said surgery. Kay the manager, was very keen and think a call back will happen soon to meet and explain to the Dr.'s. Finishing up on Saturday 2nd week of delivering newish' 74 BB release and this one is fast, busy and not easy for most. Tweaking cues and delivery yet still not fully connecting verbal with physical as smoothly as I'd like. Much of it is taught side-on that is difficult to see the subtle distinction/differences of swift change of poses, via leg and arm placement. I'll get this to land 100%,.. not going to beat me.
Happy active Thursday everyone!
-
Octogirl, what a fantastic experience in the underwater ballet! Wow, Wonderland! Ruth, this is a first with a man in the WWW photos.
Lovely trails in Eden. Lilacblue, what a great idea!
Ran/walked along the lake.

Didn't get to my workout last night. Hubby was late getting home from work so instead of me cooking, we went out for dinner. Got back late from that. Will make up for it this morning as I have to go out and get a sympathy card for a neighbor who had a death in his family. May even make a quick trip to Dunkin for a coffee as its National Coffee Da
-
Good morning all! A bit rainy here so did my week 2 day 4 c25k workout on the treadmill. 50 minutes total including 30 minutes walk/run. Now a shower and off to work. LB - I still wanna get over there to see you. Oh, and maybe a bit of that wonderful country you live in too
Have a great day everyone!
-
National Coffee Day? I will have to have an extra cup or two!
I am soon off to the hybrid class & yoga. Heidi, if a man gives us what we want (25 acres of groomed trails), he makes the picture!
edited to add that I am wearing my new "but first, coffee" tee shirt to class this morning
-
Happy Anniversary Mary and Lisa. Wonderland, I luv the pumpkins. My mother has alzheimers.
I'm currently exercising my right to get my hair done, but I did at least walk this morning at work.

Got my workout in and then hubby was so sweet and gave me a massage afterwards.

Really nice afternoon, walked for 20 mins at lunchtime, in between two excruciatingly long meetings. The three-hour morning meeting could have been done in an hour but the convenor likes to hear himself talk. The two-hour afternoon meeting could have been done in 30 mins by sending out written info ahead of time then having a brief discussion. C'mon, people, can't we be more efficient? We have work to do! My whole day was pretty much shot. But, my time is theirs to waste. I no longer work mega-hours for free so if I can't get things done timely, oh well...

Ruth: Your WWW this week sounded amazing!
Love reading everyone's posts. Walked/ran this afternoon. It's a little bit cooler but still humid.
-
Did country heat yesterday and today plus did a 45 minute walk with DH.
Good news on mamogram and bloodwork! So relieved as I'm sure you all can relate! The MO wants a chest ct to rule out any nerve (pinched) issues. I Can't quite figure that out but they are exploring approval from insurance. So I guess we will see.
Sounds like the San Antonio group is herring up! Can't wait to see the pictures
-
Great news about the doctor appointment, planb. Whew!!!
-
Dance Attack & some toning with Denise Austin. I have actually been putting stuff in kitchen cupboards (be still my beating heart). Our handyman friend comes back tomorrow to work on crown molding etc.
-
PlanB on doc apt and Ruth on kitchen cupboards!
Cloudy and cool, perfect for three laps (30 mins walk) around the park.
-
Week 2 day 6 c25k. A bit rainy so used treadmill at the gym. 70 minute workout with 30 minutes total running time.
-
Just caught up on all the posts and exercise I missed. Busy, busy workweek plus rain made for only one 25 minute walk this week. Finished a big project Friday, so I was looking forward to some exercise today but alas, it rained all day today. So I went to the mall and shopped and tried on clothes for 3 hours. Exercise enough. Happy to have found a couple of things because it turned a little cooler the last week and I feel like I have no in-between summer and winter clothes. I came home with four tops, a light sweater and a pair of pants. That's a pretty good shopping day for me.
-
I've been busy all day; took a little walk, may still do some toning.
ARGH! The cupboards on the other wall (which seemed to be 'just a little off') are too far off when the other wall is hung correctly, so they will need to come down too and be rehung......
-
Oh no Ruth!!!! Hopefully, you can take the long view and not kill anyone. Not worth doing time in the slammer although you might just get off.
I am enjoying the first quiet weekend in 2 months. Rainy here, but I did get in a ride on my hybrid bicycle prior to the rains coming. Different muscles than a road bicycle as my body is making clear to me.
Also got marvelous vegetables at the farmers market. But starting with a mushroom omelet as I am awash in 'shrooms and I couldn't resist a pound of seconds for $5. I also have the small puffballs I gathered last night during my run. Suspect the cuisine Chez Claire will be mushroom-based for the foreseeable future.
I will serve the omelet with fresh beans and a tomato-basil salad. I have fresh local strawberries for dessert.
Tomorrow is a work day as need to position the work my now-again business partner and I will be doing. This, prior to launching a new website featuring what we bring to the table. Wish me luck. But so exciting, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I will do the gravel trail at the foot of the hill tomorrow, and want to go further than normal. (It goes over 300 miles, but that is a different adventure.) One of the benefits of being forced to use your spare bicycle. You actually do the things close to home. And a reminder to take a large bag for gathering the apples that no one appears to want. If I do find some, I am taking them home to make the most wonderful sauce ever. - Claire

Tomorrow night starts Rosh Hashanah!! It will be weird this year without my Miriam. She is in Israel and soooo happy. My son will be with us. I wasn't up for company so most meals are just the 3 of us...we do have 1 friend coming Tuesday for lunch. Tomorrow will be a busy day cooking as I haven't done anything yet!! My menus are pretty simple, so I should be okay. Will get up early, put a pot of soup up and start my challah then go take a long walk. I hope to have time to come say HI tomorrow, but if not, I'll be off line from tomorrow night (Sunday night) till Tuesday night.

ruthbru - ok, here I am! But you will laugh when I tell you my daily exercise has been merely walking from the bed to the bathroom to the kitchen to the couch, etc, etc. I had started getting back to exercise after radiation ended and was slowly building up the amount of time I walked. Then I started taking anastrozole and -- yikes! No exercise for me until I find a solution to the shortness of breath that I've got.
It's funny, because right before I was diagnosed, I was helping my very elderly mother take a shower. The sight of a nude octogenarian, which I cannot, unfortunately delete from my memory, gave me a lot of motivation to get back to strength training.
So right now most of my exercise is about my thinking - trying to focus on what's right more than what's wrong. I know I need to do some grieving, but I don't want to get stuck in self pity.
Thanks for the encouragement.
-
Have a good holiday, Karen. I think I need to come to Denver and have you invite me over to dinner. You are always cooking such yummy sounding food!!!
-
Did two dives yesterday and a long walk today. Feeling good!
