Happy Birthday, Mary. I'm glad you're feeling better. Cheryl I hope you feel better too.
I got in a 40 minute walk around the lake and now I'm enjoying a latte from the local coffee house. I noticed how happy it makes me when my barista puts the heart design on top of my latte. Little things.
Odis tis the season for food. We will all be working it off in another week.
Scottie I hope today is more peaceful and less frustrating.

MerryChristmas ladies! I went for a morning walk w/ my sister and got in almost 5 miles. It is in the 80s here today, which makes it hard to believe it's Christmas time. I am looking forward to church tonight, as my daughter is reading and the children's program. The kids are so cute! Afterwards we are having are annual get together, where we eat tamales with all the sides. I will be needing some exercise for sure after tonight.
Happy Birthday Mary!
HBcheryl- it must be exhausting for you this time of year! 1000 cards- wow!
Ruth- I love your picture with the walking ladies. It looks like you have a fun time together.
Here is a picture from my weekend staycation at the beach near where I live. We really enjoyed our stay and I really was able to appreciate the beauty. This time of year it isn't crowded so you can really relax and enjoy.
-
Walked around the loop, about one quarter of a mile. Walked back and forth to the mailbox. Felt tired when I got home. Took some photos. Here is one of a rose blooming at the front of the house. It has been raining heavily and flooding for several days where I live.
-
Hi Mary....happy birthday...hope you are feeling good and enjoying your special day. I'm looking forward to turning 60 in the spring!!! It has to be better than 50 as that is when I was diagnosed!
Two...I have pictures on my fb page...if I can figure out how to post here, I'll post pictures. I've never figured out how to post pictures on bco....when I have pictures someone else has posted for me!!
Annie...gorgeous picture.
Wishing everyone who celebrates a most wonderful Christmas. Hoping your holiday is everything you want it to be

Thanks Two Hobbies. . . We had flooding this morning but the lake and stream are back down now, although yard's a mess. Today was definitely better. PT this morning after a good night sleep, grocery for breakfast food tomorrow, then returned the computer and got the one I should have bought in the first place. Dh's computer is now up and running and I have mine back. Went to gym for treadmill, then hot bath and cocoa. Now I'm finally de-stressing. . .watching Doctor Who
Merry Christmas all

I have been offline for 6 weeks and have 15 pages to catch up on.
I have not gotten much exercise as I have been working full time and caring for my mother-in-law after school each day has taken all my time. We have just recently gotten her settled in an assisted living facility and she is doing much better which is a relief since the day after thanksgiving we thought we were ready for hospice to get involved.
I am hoping to get back to having time to exercise. Just wanted to say hello and wish those who celebrate it a Merry Christmas!
-
Oops, I think it is one-half mile around the loop. If I am correct, maybe I did better than I thought I did.
Two more photos also flowers in my yard.
-
Happy Birthday Mary you are marvellous!!👑.
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful everyone😆
-
To those who celebrate, have a wonderful Christmas.
If I'm going to get my steps in for the day, its time for me to get off the computer and get moving!!! Wishing everyone a great day!!!

Catching up on the posts. Love all the pictures!
Happy Happy Belated Birthday Nats!
Hot and Humid! Summer has arrived again. We have our windows open and the overhead fan on. I pulled out my red short sleeve summer shirt to wear today as my festive top for Christmas. My glasses are fogging up as I type this bc I just returned from my walk/run. Trying to work off all the delicious goodies I've been indulging!
I was with dh's family yesterday; my dh, ds, dd and her bf today; and with my side of the family tomorrow. So, so special. Just like all of you. I am so thankful you are a part of my life!
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

Merry Christmas 🎄!
My kids got up and opened their gifts in their stockings. It is so much fun being Santa, even if they don't believe. I made a huge breakfast for my family. We really had enough food last night, but it is the holidays! Afterwards we went biking, as the weather was perfect. I spent the day with my family, it was perfect. This afternoon I walked at the trail. I made my 10,000 steps!
Wonderland- We are having hot and humid too. It doesn't feel like winter at all. We are planning on going to the beach to cool down tomorrow.
-
belated happy birthday, mary!
Happy boxing day, lilacblue! DD calebrates her 16th in two days.
Happy New Year to all!
-
hi all, speaking of holidays, we should think about our 2016 Sculpted Sisters summer trip.
My mom has timeshare points we can use to stay somewhere fabulous and do fun things.
We've been to Minneapolis, Chicago, Washington DC, and the last two years California. We should head East this year. Woo hoo! Makes me happy just to think about it! ♥
-
Beautiful roses DF. Karen thanks for trying the photo. I only know to use the photo icon that you see as you're posting (5th from the right). I'll imagine how pretty it is.
I didn't get any walking in Christmas Day but instead enjoyed several hours relaxing, making breakfast and lattes, and unwrapping presents. Then late afternoon we went to see Star Wars which we really enjoyed. I'm deciding whether to go mall walking and clothes shopping or outdoor walking today.
-
We spent the day driving ds to meet his cousin/aunt/grandma for a week visit in Charleston. We meet them halfway. Got back and went to the gym and then had a very late dinner. Hopefully I'll still sleep tonight.
Hope everyone had a wonderful and weather safe Christmas.

Picture from earlier today. Snow was perfect. Need to share photo and weak sun. Skied to the bottom of the mountain in the very rear ~10 miles altogether. Forget "buns of steel". I have "buns of lead". - Claire

Anyone who's done anything the past few days has done better than me. Been wrapped in the cocoon of family and enjoying all that life has to offer including a delighted and delightful 18-mo grand-niece. Hearing the Voices so must get out and walk today. Must also prepare for possible power outage as an ice storm is predicted for tomorrow. I will have to take Monday off work, too dangerous to drive, so will hit the library this afternoon. ;-)
-
Claire: Beautiful picture!
Badger: Be careful in your ice storm. Hope you found some good literature at the library.
Disturbing to hear about the tornadoes and loss of life. Thinking about everyone in harm's way.
Today has been a humid 72 degrees. Our windows are wide open. Ds and I did 2 and 1/2 hours of yard work and then walked/ran at the park. Now I'm cooling off before we go see Star Wars.
-
Claire- Your picture looks like a winter wonderland, just beautiful. We don't have that here in Texas. In fact it was in the 80s yesterday, but today we are in the low 50s, as a cold front blew in.
Badger- Good for you to stray away from exercise to enjoy your family. Exercise will be there anytime, so spend the time w/ your loved ones.
Today I walked and stretched at the park walking trail. I made it 3 miles with the wind ready to carry me away. It is very windy. Tonight my daughter, mom and I are going to go to the local theatre to see Mary Poppins. We are looking forward to it, as their productions are great
-
TH good to see you again. Badger stay inside and safe and warm. Claire you are certainly in a winter wonderland, and Wonderland can't believe you're experiencing warm temperatures. Scottie your computer kerfuffle was certainly annoying. Annie enjoy Mary Poppins, it should be fun, we are experiencing crazy wind as well as cold, one of my group instructors is also a flight attendant that does the London run and she posted on FB today that all the crew were heading out for a drink as they were really shaken up after their flight through the tornado last night, sure glad I wasn't on that flight
Such devastation in Texas, so sad. Had a very quite Christmas, I'm getting over my cold and my houseguest is getting one, we went out to breakfast downtown and then for a walk on the very windy pier, in the afternoon we were going to a friends for a buffet dinner we were halfway there when we turned around and came home called my friend who was understanding as there were other guests who had begged off because of this cold bug, put on pjs, turned on the Hallmark channel and watched movie after movie and had soup and crescent rolls for our Christmas dinner.
Back on the exercise wagon, yesterday did a virtual spin class but left after half an hour as it was "just ok" then went in and did a 30 minute virtual dance class, today did Body Pump and this afternoon went down to Corona del Mar and walked on the bluff overlooking the ocean and picked out houses we'd buy if we ever won the lottery
-
Hello all! Sure is crazy weather around the country! I am in Virginia Beach visiting my son and family. Today was in the 70's.......very unusual for this time of year. However, expected to get to 50 by next weekend.
Exercise has mainly been playing with my 3 adorable grandchildren here, ages 1, 3 and 5. I am loving it! However, I plan to start tomorrow with a long walk along the boardwalk to take advantage of the weather.
-
Beautiful picture,Claire. Love the winter wonderland look.
I managed a twenty minute walk yesterday before it started raining and I had to turn for home. Today I was doing some foam rolling and ended up dizzy again , so my side effects of the virus I had are not completely gone. ugh. Maybe tomorrow will be better for exercise.
-
Cold, cold, cold today in Denver. Only got 2 walks in today so barely got to 13K steps. Once the sun went down the temps dropped quickly back to the teens. It is going to be cold most of the week. Going to wait till at least the sun is up to walk in the morning but need to make sure I get a second walk in during the day. It was so pretty out though with the snow and the sun! My winter break is half over!! Don't think I'm going to get done as much as I hoped to. Tomorrow I'm going to work int he crawl space going through kids stuff....can't get rid of anything until I check with the kids or should I say my daughters. I don't think my son will care. Lots of care bears, baby dolls, barbies etc from my 2 girls and legos from my son oh yeah and many, many beanie babies. My older daughter wants me to keep the crib and other baby stuff for when she has kids. We have a big crawl space but it is over flowing.... I have one bag of toys from my childhood!! In it is a box of gum wrapper chains made in 1968 or 1969!! I don't think I can throw it away. Way too much luggage, but that's cuz I also have my mother's luggage, but she can no longer travel. Don't think I need to buy luggage for some time. But 2 years ago when both my son and my younger daughere were gone they each had 2 large duffle bags so it seemed like we didn't have enough!!
I need an easy work out for the core/stomach that is good for someone who is basically lazy except for walking...Go!!! TIA
-
Finally I am done with 'company stuff'.....we had a great time, but this hostessing gig is hard work! This afternoon, I made myself get everything back in place, towels/bedding washed, floors vacuumed or washed etc before doing anything else.
I can report lots & lots of food, puzzles, games, movies (we went to Star Wars as well), and a little bit of exercise. I convinced my SIL to go to the YMCA with me Thursday morning. Christmas Day I asked if she wanted to do an exercise DVD with me & she said, "As long as I don't have to put my shoes on"......so we did pilates. Yesterday I got 30 minutes on the treadmill before anyone else got up, and tonight I was back on the treadmill again & did a toning DVD (on the computer while watching the Vikings). So.....whew....busy!
Beautiful picture, Claire. Wonderland, my sister was not impressed with the hot Christmas. North Carolina should be sweater weather at this time of year! Badger, I hope you didn't get the ice. Yuck! It is too cold here to snow at the moment. Yes, we need to think about a Summer Road Trip!!!!!! Anyone who has suggestions as to places/dates etc. please post them. Fun!
-
Happy birthday to HeidiHills newly minted, sweet sixteen darling daughter! Worked Boxing Day and 3 membes came along. Been at the gym each day practicing #71 BB for release launch. Today lunch with friends and to the gym late afternoon. I've always liked what I consider the "lost week"' , between Christmas and New Years. It would be better without the extreme flooding and tornadoes.
-
After a significant needed break, I am back to daily exercising. I have done an hour a day of stationary cycling for four days and my 45 minute hard (for me) yoga DVD. I so admire you all who manage to exercise despite company, insomnia, cancer treatment and all other potential disruptions. When I read your posts, I am inspired to exercise.
Remind me, who on this thread manages to exercise the day after insomnia?
Hugs,
Peggy

I read yesterday that there have been more tornado deaths in December this year than there were in all of the rest of the year. So sad - my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones, and to those who have lost their homes.
Sounds like everyone had a great holiday, except for you Cheryl and your sick houseguest! Something about being sick during the holidays makes it seem worse. But it sounds like you got your exercise in anyway - quite impressive.
Claire - what a beautiful picture!! Almost makes me want to take up skiiing, except that I'd wipe out in the first minute.
We plan on seeing Star Wars next weekend, so I'm studiously avoiding reading anything about it for fear of a plot spoiler.
Karen - when my mom was cleaning out stuff, she gave me a deadline by which I had to come claim anything I wanted. After that, she said it was up to her discretion as to what stayed and what was pitched. That certainly got me moving, so maybe it would work on your kids too. Also, if you're looking for a quick but effective core workout, there's an old 20 minute Pilates workout I still do - it's available on YouTube now - Nicole Stewart's 20 minute Pilates workout. You can just fire it up on your tablet or phone and follow along. Try it, and I bet you'll feel those muscles the next day telling you that you worked them out!
Like so many others, we had weird holiday weather - in the 70's. My crocus are blooming, and my rose bush has even put out a couple of roses! The iris and daffodils are a couple of inches out of the ground - are they going to be surprised when it gets cold again.
Maybe Boston for the summer trip next year? Or maybe we could go international and hit Montreal?
Since it was so warm, we took the opportunity yesterday to get a jump on spring cleaning and cleaned out the garage. Now we can get both cars in the garage again. The weather is a bit more seasonal today - in the 40's - so I enjoyed a nice 30 minute run this morning in the cool breezy temps. I'd much rather run when it's 41 degrees than when it's 71 degrees!
-
Peggy, I am a terrible sleeper. If I didn't exercise after a night of insomnia, I would never exercise at all!!!!
Off to yoga in a few minutes and then an exciting day of errands, gift exchanges etc. Zumba tonight.
