I didn't do any exercise walking again today, yet still managed to get in 2.75 miles and 28 minutes of intense movement mopping floors & hanging laundry. Plan on getting up at 6am to get back to my normal walking.
-
Yes those are my precious little fur babies. They use to do pet therapy at nursing homes but had to stop when I got sick. Now they give me therapy. The biggest one weighs in at 6 lbs.
Still managed to do thirty minutes again today on the treadmill and somehow still managed to get in over 10k steps throughout the day.
Thanks for the encouraging words.

Cute turtle Nats. Exercise yesterday, 3 miles on the dreadmill.

M0mmyof2- sounds like a yummy, beautiful garden!
NatsFan- that box turtle friend made me smile
Poor sleep cycle made me skip activity yesterday. On the docket for today: a walk around local campus grounds with an old friend from school. Goal is 2 miles since tomorrow will be eaten up with doctor appts.

Thank you ladies for inspiring me to keep moving! Had to stop for a knee problem that turned me into a couch potato for almost threeweeks, but thank heavens that's over. So I'm back at Pilates and our exercise bike. Did 30 min. on the bike today, and for the first time was able to do part of the time at level 7. A few months ago, I had trouble with level 5. So this is concrete progress

Thanks burner.

Had a delicious lunch with Ruth and her sister. Hope you get to leave NC today with no more delays.

Still waiting at the airport. Now it's supposed to go out at 5:08. Any later and I'll miss my connection in Denver. The joys of travel . Yes, Wonderland and I had a lovely lunch!

The lovely lunch!

Wonderful to see Wonderland and Ruth together and yum! Tessu, coming back fast! Mary, one eyed turtle wow, hey, are you and DH at the cabin every weekend? Yup, it's been a very difficult month in England, on all fronts. We held the minute of silence yesterday at 11am, the start of Pink Ribbon Pilates. Hottest day of the year today - 31° grateful to be in a cool gym studio. New fad, boob nail art -call me a prude, don't like it.

I hadn't walked for almost a week, so I was looking forward to it this morning. Couldn't get it! I started out fine, but the humidity was too much. I only got a mile in and had to stop. My legs ached and I had a hard time breathing. I had forgotten my water, so I started to dehydrate. I was so disappointed in myself. I called a friend and suggested we go to lunch - I had a half salad. Then we walked the strip mall. She likes to shop for recreation, so while she browsed in a store, I walked up & down the sidewalk outside. I must have looked like I was pacing, but I got a walk in and could step inside a cool store when I got too hot.
I doubt I will be able to walk tomorrow. H & I are going to the grocery store. We don't need any storm supplies, but it may be raining Thursday-our normal day. If this tropical storm (it's named Cindy) comes any nearer to us, we could get a lot of rain. It will curtail my walks for a while.

98 in Denver today. New record high! Tomorrow only 96.
-
I know it's hot in Denver! I literally sprinted from one end of the airport to the other in order to catch my plane (arriving at my gate right when people began to board) and was dripping with sweat from the effort as it wasn't all that cool in the terminal either. Thrilled to be home to a lovely 62 degree North Dakota summer night!
-
Our weather has been miserable - Hugs to everyone in the southeast. Dh offered to go to gym with me yesterday afternoon just so I could get on the dreadmill but I just did not want to get back out in the weather. No excuse!!!! Back to the gym today.

Had a bit of a cleaning bug hit this morning. Got the laundry going and started to take everything off the kitchen counters and clean them before putting everything back. By the time I'm done, my back will be killing me.

Welcome to all the new ladies, this is truly a wonderful thread.
LB so sad all the dreadful things happening in the UK, my Hannah has been there with her bff for the last week and had a wonderful time they went to a Paramore concert in Manchester as they are huge fans and said the city and people were fantastic. Yes we are about to release 77, some gyms are this saturday and the rest are in 2 weeks and the LMOD has 63 through 73, your DHs trip sounds wonderful. TH thanks for the articles, I absolutely hate HIIT and I'll be honest I curse like a sailor while I am doing it but love it when its over and the upshot, while I was getting a pedicure on sunday the lady had hold of my calf and said to the person in the chair next to me - she strong, very very strong. Annoyingboob your cycle challenge sounds interesting and fun, I've never done soul cycle but I saw a bit where everyone was standing and waving towels in the air and yes everyone in the class looked like beautiful made up 20 somethings, so good for you. Nats I love your new unexpected pet, I hope he sticks around he is so cute. Pat when we went to Scotland we had no reservations and just did B&Bs and had a wonderful time and met some very interesting people over lovely breakfasts, of course some nights we had to drive and drive to find somewhere to stay. Ruth so wonderful that you and Wonderland got together and glad you made it home safely, Denver is my biggest fear when we do our November trip, I tried to get flights through Phoenix but Denver it is and if I get stuck I'll just call Karen
On the exercise font, I've been pretty good since I was last here - Body Combat on saturday, Body Pump sunday, Cardio Dance Party on monday Sprint last night and LM Barre this morning using my On Demand.
-
Nice to see all the activities and fun pictures! I've been pretty good myself and trying to get in at least 150m/week in various forms: running, yoga, strength training, HIIT, fast walking and this past weekend painting my Mom's new condo! Boy, who knew painting made the inner thigh muscles work...
An FYI for Fitbit users. I had mine die on me, I was getting a thin half full bar and tried reset etc. and nothing worked. I called the customer service and after their failed attempt at troubleshooting, they send me a free replacement.
-
I still have to go back and really read everyone's posts, but first need to get myself organized again around here. The not fun part of going on a trip. You all should come here. It's gorgeous. Walked with the Wednesday Walking Women and just got done pulling a bunch of weeds. Now to attack the mail!
Happy Summer Solstice!

Exercise (housework) for the day is done.

Lilac - I agree - yuk on those nails. Velvet - I hate humidity too - I'd have wilted right there with you. Be safe with Cindy - looks like a nasty one. Wonder and Ruth - great to see you get together! Eren - Paint N Sculpt is definitely a full-body workout. Pink - your furkids are adorable. Pretty handy having your own built-in therapy dogs!
Like so many others have said, it's way too hot to run outside, so I did another hill session on the dreadmill yesterday - huffin' and puffin' but I did it. Today I hit the pool - decided to try out the surgical shoulder with some laps, and to my amazement I was able to knock out 10 laps before the shoulder tired. I guess all that PT I've been doing is paying off.
-
We had the hot misery but then it cooled off and we are back to 70s. For the moment, anyway. i walked 35 minutes at lunch today and 15 after work with the dog.
Cheryl great compliment to you on the strength, and Tessu great progress. Ruth it looks like you and Wonderland had a great meal with great company of course.
Lilac real boobs prettier but have to admire the creativity. I'll stick to my Butter London "come to bed red".
AndMommyof2 anytime you want to get another housework fitness session, I have just the place for you.
-
I don't think we have anything to worry about with Cindy. Her rain is beating New Orleans & Pensacola. Houston may get a little rain, but we are too far west for it to have much of an effect on us. H was hoping for 1"-3" but we will probably be lucky to get 1/2" of rain.
-
Hot here too but tonight the sea fog rolled in so that is a nice change. Glad your shoulder is healing Nats. Even yes painting is definately very hard work all that squatting and bending. Velvet glad Cindy is not going to impact you too much, did you see the United flight that got caught in her turburlance on the way to a Houston, all I can say is I'm glad I wasn't on that flight.
Tonight did Grit a combination of Cardio and Strength, then Body Pump - my arms are already feeling it. -
More housework today. This time it's sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor!!!!
-
Nice pics, Ruth and Wonderland. Lilac, yikes on those nails. Hurts just to look at them. Nats, 10 laps is amazing. Eren, glad you got a free replacement. Ditto on THs note to Mommy.
Too hot to go out so did some dance fitness vids on YouTube. Two more sweltering days before the weather cools down here.
-
Might see if hubby is in the mood to go walking after dinner tonight.
-
POUND this morning & a puppy walk this afternoon. One of the local nurseries had a big sale on annuals, so I have some more flowers to plant!
-
Hubby was being a total grouch so I went up and cleaned the bathroom. Have been pretty busy the last few days with catching up on housework out of the ordinary stuff.
-
I didn't walk again this morning. H let me sleep in, so I didn't get up until 8:30. Stripped the bed and put the sheets in to wash. I had every intention to hang them out, but other things got in the way.
H wanted to try making jam out of the peaches we bought on our trip, so we cut them up, sugared them & let them sit. I went back to the bedroom to remake the bed & turned on the light----SNAP, CRACK, SIZZLE----the light bulbs EXPLODED! We keep our bedroom dark-cooler and we sleep better-so I couldn't see. Long story short, we spent two hours on the phone trying to get this fixed. The ceiling fan is still under warranty, so we are getting a whole new light kit. Hunter thinks it may have been improperly wired.
I still had to clean up the shards of broken light bulbs from the bed--stripped everything off & thoroughly vacuumed mattress & floor, then went over the floor again with a wet mop. I washed the mattress and pillow covers. No time to line dry--everything in the dryer. Finally got the bed made after lunch.
Then we both remembered the peaches, so we spent another hour making jam. This is new for us. Both of our mothers made jams & jellies (his all the time, mine not so much) and we had watched, but never really had a hand in it. H found a recipe in an old cookbook that had belonged to my mother, so we went for it. The jam is really pretty, so we hope it 'took'.
