Let's Post our Daily Exercise

hi all and welcome annoyingboob. Love the pastels Ruth and congrats LB!!
Thinking of you, Mary! Once again you are an LE trailblazer. ((gentle hugs))
ICYMI, Nats started a thread with guidelines for safe exercise for those with or at-risk for LE (pretty much all of us). There's info for you and your instructors. Here's a link plus I'll bump it to the top of Active Topics.
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/58/topics/801453?page=1
Been walking at lunchtime, sounds boring but it isn't. I love Madison and being one of the denizens of downtown. Plus it gets me up and moving. Spent the past few days doing on-line training so been getting in extra walks at morning and afternoon breaks. My brain and my butt can only take so much screen time. :-)

Body sculpt and treadmill walk/climb after work today
-
Badger, thanks for the link. I'm battling even more LE since this third surgery. Takinh steps to reduce the swelling but plan to start the gentle yoga routine (dvr programs) tomorrow.

Thinking about Nats and hope she's putting the recliner to good use.
Congratulations LB!
Thank-you Falconer!
Push mowed for almost 2 hours. Trying not to think of doing it in 90 degrees and high humidity this summer. Enjoying the low humidity and high in the 70s of today.
-
Thank you, Falconer

Got up on time to get a walk in before work...been waking up too early then falling back to sleep and today I didn't hear the alarm, DH woke me up at 5:45. Went to the grocery store after work and as soon as I got in the house, DH asked me if I wanted to go for a walk....it was great as I was planning on taking a walk, so it was nice to have company. We also walked after dinner. Walking is such a good de-stresser for me.
The weather is heating up in Denver...High 70s today and again tomorrow. Cools off a to high 60s on Saturday then back to the 70s. Too hot for my liking this time of year.
Working tomorrow for taking off for Passover. Need to get organized and figure out my menu for tomorrow night and then again Sunday night to Tuesday, the last days of Passover. No baking, just need to figure out what I'm cooking when and have a list so I don't forget anything.
Sweet dreams

LB Congratulations on passing your course. Thinking of you Mary hoping you are not in any pain. Thank you Fakconer. Badger my eyes go blurry if I don't get up from in front of the computer and to make matters worse my laptop has lines running down the screen, I need a new one but don't seem to have the time to get it in for service. Wonderland you just have to think that your melting away the pounds when you're toiling in the humidity this summer. Karen glad you got to get out and destress after work.
So today I took a crock pot filled with chicken and tomatoes to work for a pot luck lunch at my office, I had it in a box so thought I was safe, well as luck would have it a driver put his foot on the brake about 6 cars in front of me and everyone hit their brakes cars veering off to the side so as not to hit - you guessed it the lid came off and my car was covered in diced tomatoes, what a mess but my car smelled delicious
Tonight did Sprint.

I am briefly awake between painkiller doses so I thought I would use my iPad voice to typing capabilities to do a quick update. Thank you everybody for all the good wishes! Surgery went well and I am back home in the recliner with Mikey.
All went well with my arrangements with the lymphedema therapist. She was able to come right into the recovery room and wrap my arm immediately after surgery. She was as gentle as possible but of course there was some unavoidable manipulation of the arm and shoulder which was quite painful. But the recovery room staff understood that and the minute she was done they gave me another dose of fentynl to bring the pain back down which helped quite a bit. Since having a patient be wrapped right in recovery was a new procedure I was worried there might be a little resistance or some other negative attitude from the staff. Not at all. I was really pleased that the entire recovery room staff was on board to make it happen and moved quickly to alleviate the unavoidable extra pain the wrapping caused. Now that the precedent has been set hopefully more patients will be able to do this.
Hope this was somewhat coherent. Time for my next pill and back to Lala land!
-
Nats- so glad to hear that you were pleased with how your treatment went and that you're on the road to recovery.
Cheryl- we had two cars for a while; one went to so many pot lucks that it was starting to smell like a food truck! I guess out in HB you can open the windows, if you want to free your car of the tomato-y smell.
-
Good to hear from you Nats! Keep resting and glad all went well!
Thanks Falconer!
Passover has been a bit of a blur for me this year, but next year I have decided to host a sedar for at least twenty friends and family. Cooking is good exercis and for me, good therapy as well, after all.
Hugs to all

Good to hear from you, Mary. Glad that everything went smoothly and that you had a good experience with the hospital staff. We can be educating them too!
Cheryl, that is always why I bring cake, bread, or chips to a potluck!
Karen, that is too hot for this time of year in Denver!
Dog walked in the rain this morning and will be out there again sometime this afternoon. I am going to do some abs now & then make a scouting trip for flooring. We did the kitchen last fall and now really, really, really need to replace the carpet on the main floor (which means painting everything first). I am just in the 'getting ideas' phase (it will take so much work that it may be quite awhile before I'm at the 'doing it' phase!).
-
Mary, glad the surgery went well and you are leading the way on LE care post surgery. Btw, your iPad voice to typing capabilities are perfect. Oh Cheryl - oh dear, glad you can laugh. Thanks for the congrats and will teach 2 added pilates classes at two different gyms starting in May. No gym today, although, got up early and did a huge shop at three different stores (bought dvd Fantastic Beasts and will view tonight), then house cleaning and laundry. Quiet here in the hinterlands and hunkered down, until BB tomorrow morning.
-
Nats. . .glad the surgery and immediate recovery went well. Take it easy and best wishes. Awesome on the Ipad. My Samsung tablet has saved my sanity for all three surgeries.
Cheryl. . .lol on the car/Potluck story.
Ruth.. . .happy flooring shopping. We are in the process o fretting quotes for àsome major renovations - new roof, new carpet and redone master shower. Choices were so much easier when we built our house 19 years ago. Now I we probably have multiple contractors.

Mary-glad your surgery went well, best wishes for a speedy recovery!
We received bad news on my dear friend in ICU - he does not have any cognitive brain function, and will likely never wake up from this nightmare. We are devastated, and it has thrown us into a situation of how long do you wait to be sure he's not waking up. Plus the gravity of deciding this for a 57 year old. Trying to get outside unbiased support for his sister to help her make this decision.
On a positive note, my niece with breast cancer had her mastectomy, and the lab report showed they think they got it all! So no more chemo for her, or radiation, she's taking femarole and that's it. So happy for her.
Not much exercise for me, spending most days at the hospital. What a dreary place. My daughter and friend are visiting for the weekend, we are giving her our old car, so they flew up and will drive back to DC. It will be nice to have the break from our hospital duty for a couple of days, plan on some outside time with them, and of course a trip to our favorite restaurant!
-
So, so sorry about your friend, Pat. Glad that your niece had the best news possible.
-
((Pat)) so sorry to hear about your friend. Did they ever figure out what the weird infection is?
Glad you're doing OK Mary!
LOL Cheryl at yr fragrant car. Been there & know what a mess. Perhaps add a sprig of basil?
Rained yesterday so the ground is just right for weeding. Nice crop of thistles this year. :-)
-
Pat. . .so very sorry about your friend. Prayers.
Exercise yesterday on the dreadmill. Made it for over a mile, but still slowly. Yoga on tap for today and going out with Dh for more plant shopping for the back gardens. It's a gorgeous day here.

Dog walked again this morning (DS is home later today, so I can go back to my slothful ways) and then went to early-bird yoga. Now off to do some errands, I am trying to NOT buy any Easter candy
-
Mary so glad the surgery went well and that you are blazing LE therapy trails, the more the surgery staff see the more they understand. Pat I am so sorry about your friend, so darned young. Ruth I don't know if you can believe it but I haven't had one piece of Easter candy but you know I'll be at the store Monday to buy some half off KB it sounds lovely to be out in nature and see all the wildlife. Badger that is funny!
This morning went to Body Combat with a girl I used to take classes with, she certified in Pump ages ago and just certified in Combat and was lucky enough to get a class straight away, today was only the 3rd time she had taught and she was fantastic,so proud of her. Then I did 30 minutes of Body Pump and then the main reason I travelled 25 miles another Sprint filming and now I am in the recliner for an hour or so before I head out to dinner.
-
Two hours Garden & Sculpt. My 'bender' muscles may be sore tomorrow but I got all around the house and have a big box of weed bodies to show for it. So satisfying to pull nascent dandelions out of the ground, tap roots and all. Took a nice long afternoon nap as a reward.
-
Mary, glass surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy and easy recovery.
Gorgeous day today. Blue sky, sunny, light breeze and high 60s. Sat outside this afternoon reading, then long walk with DH.
Sweet dream
-
Pat, I'm so sorry for the outcome of your friend and good news indeed for your niece. Scottie, reads that you are starting to come back from this last surgery; how was yoga? KB870, you really go for it - canoeing!
Beautiful, sunny, clear Easter Sunday morning here in the hinterlands of Kent. Looked at another thread and it was about the Breast Cancer WEight Loss Study (BWEL Study) https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02750826 . Thought I'd live link it here, as some may be interested to join the study. I'm taking a break from cleaning the back half of the kitchen, as friends are coming for lunch. Have an 18 year old and filled his Easter basket none the less, so chocolate bounds in our home. Anyway, must finish cleaning the kitchen, iron white damask tablecloth and get out the good china, that has not seen the light of day for sometime.
Have a lovely day everyone!

Happy Easter/Passover/Spring!

We had the most glorious day for the Tulip Pedal yesterday. The 40 miles were much easier than expected considering how this was only the second time on my bicycle this season. This was a leisurely ride which required stopping to take pictures. Sharing a few of these. - Claire
At the Roozengard Display Garden, or rather the parking lot next door. The place was packed, so got these views instead.
Tulips were just opening. Note the fresh snow on the mountains in the distance. Warm in the valley and in the sunshine.
Blueberry field. The Skagit Valley has amazing fruit.
The first part of the ride was through farmland. Here is one of the houses with flowering trees. It's part of what was once the main town there - Skagit City. I came back with local beef and lamb as well as asparagus to have with the lamb for Easter Dinner.
One final view of the tulips.
-
Beautiful pix, Claire! We have tulips blooming on the south side of the house - purple, red & yellow.
Two laps around the park path to loosen up my stiff benders then put in an hour of Garden & Sculpt. Just too nice to stay indoors. Raked up and bagged up the piles of leaves I'd pulled out of the flower beds yesterday, then picked up sticks. Doesn't sound like much but it's good to be using muscles that haven't seen much action so far this year.
-
Gorgeous pictures, Claire!
Ate so much, yikes! Walked some, but not enough to wear off all my calories I consumed. Tomorrow is another day!
-
I went to a breast cancer retreat and learned about a breast cancer dragon boat team. We meet at the lake and paddle for an hour each Saturday to train for a few races with other dragon boats over the summer. It's a great workout with other BC friends. If you are in the DFW areaplease check out the website and join us.

Hope everyone had a very pleasant Easter/Passover. Welcome Jenphil86. Claire such beautiful pictures, my friend and her husband are up there for the tulip festival looks like they won't be disappointed. Ruth I ate way too much too but still no candy, mind you I did have 2 servings of the delicious fruit flan. LB I sure wish I had some of that good U.K. Easter candy, btw by any chance are you going up to London to Pilates on Tour event April 21-23?
Was so tired this morning slept through my gym class, I have just bought all the cables so was able to put my on demand up on the tv in the living room and did a Sh'bam dance class so at least I don't feel too guilty about what I ate. -
Jenphil86, glad you are here and in the UK there are a number of bc dragon boat teams. If one were near me, I'd join and happily paddle. Cheryl, have another friend who loves demand and doing body pump at home as she cares for her ill 94 year old dad and leaving him in the evenings not an option. I looked at the London event a few months back - the program looks fantastic and the cost not cheap; perhaps next year as I'm thinking of a lower back qualification in June. Copy you on the chocolate overload and feeling it this morning. Claire, enjoyed your photos and tulips are my fave flower. Dh is roasting a leg of lamb for dinner as I'm in and out on this bank holiday Monday.
Blockfit and pilates this afternoon and Bodybalance tonight.
