Here's just a few of the things we indulge in on this thread-Football nut! Food & good looking men!
-
funny!!!! Let it be known that I must admit that I still indulge in the burgers and junk albeit in moderation!! Nice dudes!! I'll share one if mine..... Lol
-
(Note to self: Embark on new career as a hand model.)
-
Although we might go to cougar town now and again, we'd never kick a mid-age hottie outta bed.
But if you don't like his scary t.v. show face, try this instead...
We've been preoccupied with the subject of cancer, we haven't had too much beefcake lately.
Who was the People Mag. Sexiest Man this year? I seem to remember it wasn't one that I liked.
-
Channing Tatum! Yum! At least I think that was this year. Footballnut, who is yours? Football player?
-
I loved that guy in the Practice until James Spader came along & blew him out of the show! I wish James still looked like this on his new show "The Blacklist" which is an awesome show by the way!
-
Blacklist is one of the best shows followed by 24
-
I loved The Practice...I LOVED Denny Crane. James Spader is sexy.
-
my guy is henrik lundqvist goalie for the ny rangers
:-)

not sure if all the "awareness" has been good or bad. Some people hear my dx & act like i'm doomed while others act like it's no big deal (everybody's doing it)
I know I had none of the known risk factors...freaks me out that I could still be doing something to bring it on...but 1 of out 8 is a really scary ratio & they need to find out what's going on
-
wow!! sorry to throw a bummer into that man-fest!! i must be doing something wrong that I am not catching the latest post thread...oops!!
-
ps - was James Spader in Mannequin?
-
IMBD says he was.

Hi Ladies I'm back after a long absence . I am laughing so hard about the food and hunks! At least looking doesn't have calories. LOL! Thank you for brightening my day.
Hugs to you all!

Hi there!!
After meeting with my surgeon today I now know the following The cancer was idc. . 2 of 21 lymph nodes had cancer cells so it did start to spread. I will be getting chemo as a precautionary measure and expect to have an appt with an oncologist in approx 1 week to discuss treatment. The surgeon wouldn't share anything else ie stage or grade of tumour. We will probably get that from the oncologist. I'm healing well but he drew a lot of fluid out. About 2oz. Yuch!! So next stage will start soon. I'll keep u posted. I guess that it's fairly good news. It could have worse so I'm thankful.
:-)
-
F-nut, You are getting what I call "Insurance Policy Chemo." Do you still have cancer in your body? No one knows! So, the chemo is just in case. It is awful to have to take it without knowing whether you really need it or not, but I can assure you that most of us in your situation do not skip the chemo. It's nasty, but you CAN do it.
---------------------------------------
With regard to our topic of the foods and environment changing for the worse... Here's something you have probably already "gone green" on, but be aware of the hidden danger:
-
Today is 5 years since I got the dreaded phone call from my PCP's nurse! 5 Frickin' Years. In some ways, it's been a blink of the eye; in other ways, it's an eternity. All I know is I am counting down to Nov 15 - the night I take my last Femara!!! Woohoo-now that will be a celebration!
-
Congrats, Eph, on reaching the magical 5-year point. Got a special cupcake for ya. Yup, that is unicorn poop on top of it!
I'm only saying that cause Eph is ER+/PR+ and we still gotta keep lookin' out well past that point for our dawdling kind of cancer.
Seriously, Eph, it's been a long road this far and you have to get to 5 years before getting to years 6, 8, 10, so CONGRATS!!! and keep going.
-
yep, true story. And dx day isn't as important as surgery day but still, 5 yrs is 5 yrs! Thanks for the unicorn poop! Yummy!
-
Congrats on 5 years Eph!
-
My 5 years is coming up later this year. It's the surgery date I'll celebrate, July 9th. Save the date.
-
Eph, now that's something to celebrate! 5 years behind you
-
I'd rather celebrate 5 years in FRONT of me!!!!
-
Big Congratulations, Eph, on your 5 years!!
-
Hooray for 5 years, no matter how we get there!
-
5 years!! Woo hoo! Right now I'm celebrating 2 weeks and 3 days since surgery!!!! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!
No mets to bones or organs!!! Yahoo!!
Only 2 of 21 lymph nodes with cancer!! Yippee!!
PLUS - 5 years for my new friends!!
PARTY TIME!!!!
:-)
-
Football, I like the way you think
-
Footballnut and Eph- Celebrating your news! One of you starting the journey that is treatment, and one of you finishing up (with low odds of recurrence)... I'm a middie in more ways than one, having started my treatment just two years ago. Looks like I may be menopausal finally (still waiting for blood test confirmation) so the next step is likely Arimidex for me.
Please send positive thoughts for my daughter. When I was 7 months pregnant with her I was told her kidneys were not well developed and that she might need emergency surgery when born. But she immediately pee'd on the table after birth, so the docs thought that they continued to develop. Flash forward 20 years and she's been having bouts of kidney infections and yesterday we met with a surgeon. Her right kidney is not normal, but seems to be doing its job. Lefty (boy is this sounding like I'm talking BC) is under-developed and not draining. She is scheduled to have a stent put in 4/25 (if a cancellation doesn't come up sooner), and then follow-up surgery about a month later to create a usable tube. If the procedure does not result in a somewhat functioning kidney, it will have to be removed. I hate that my daughter has to face a surgery! We are hopeful, but damn! Didn't see this coming...

For you and your daughter. Thinking of you both!!
-
staynsane, Will hope for a safe and successful surgery that fixes her up, and that your nerves don't get too frazzled in the process. If the situation gets tense for either of you, seek out two of the nearest lava cakes.
