Diane sorry I didn't say this sooner but glad to see you will be our new roomy
I'm getting so excited for this trip -
kjbell: How horrifying! I know that I would have fractured a hip if that had been me. You poor thing. I had the hebejeebies just reading your post! How are you doing now?
-
I don't have a TaTa Vegas T-shirt but hey....at least I will recognize all of you and not crash the wrong party!
-
So how does this work with 4 people to the room? How do we check in? I will be arriving at 12:00 noon but am going to wait for Firstmate to come in at 1:30 pm and then we will arrive at the hotel together.
-
TRACEY: Do we have a check in time yet? I think that as long as all of your names are on the room reservation, one or any of you can check in whenever the rooms are available. Make sure the person who reserved the room has put all of your names on the reservation - important also - just in case someone needs to reach you in an emergency.
-
Deborah -- Good point! I have not put anyone else's name on the reservations. Roomies -- send me your full name by PM and I'll add it to our reservation.
-
Oh YEA!!!! A get together time!!! This is so exciting! Me and my group of 3 will all be wearing the shirts, even though they didnt have BC, I thought it would be ok...the more the merrier right?
Teresa

Laura <<<<<<<<( Who put on a end of summer party ALL WEEKEND and is a wonder woman..lol)</p>

Hi All,
I can't wait until Vegas. Okay, the thing bikini is out for me (what a great laugh). I will be bring a combination of strappy and casual clothes for the trip. I have purchased a few strappy things this year to wear, since I now have a clevage since reconstruction, but have been unable to wear them. This summer has been very cool and rainy in Buffalo.
The casinos are really cool so a light jacket or light sweater works great. My mom and I will be wearing our TA TA's Vegas T to the meet and greet. The dolphine Bar sounds like a great place to meet everyone.
After reading the past few pages, I know we will all get along famously.
Sending (((((HUGS and PRAYERS))))) to all. Have a sunny tomorrow.

Daisy6- You betcha I am coming equiped with my Brett jersey! It's an away game so I will be wearing white after Labor Day (Laura I hope my white after Labor Day doesn't count in football jerseys-baaaahhh). I have never bet on a game in my life- but heck theres a first time for everything! A friend who lives in Vegas is working on finding a Packer bar for us. If you can believe it the ESPN zone is not planning on broadcasting the game that day- I already checked their game schedule for the day online . Instead they are going to broadcast the Vikings (oh the horrors). I know your Packer vest is going to be way to hot in the bazillion degree heat out there.....well unless you decide to wear just your vest.

I don't know if you ladies know this or not, but Susan G Komen of Southern Nevada is having an event the weekend you're all coming to Vegas. It's called Paint the Square Pink and it's the evening of Sept 26th. Here is a link to find out more about the event: http://www.komensouthernnevada.org/sup.php?id=75
I was going to purchase tickets for me and my hubby, but the link didn't work to buy tickets. I was going to stop by their office tomorrow to find out more info.

-
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! Thanks for the info kittycat!! This is so meant to be!!!!
-
kittycat,
Thanks for the link to the event, it looks like ablast. It will be great to go to the celebration. Looking forward to hearing more about the event and how to purchase tickets.
Jazzygem,
You are so right, it is meant to be.
See you all in Vegas. (((((HUGS))))).
Cheryl
-
Daisy, I can hardly wait for that double vodka tonic with you!!!! WOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!
-
oh ladies we are going to have so much fun
Laura I will send you a PM again with info... -
Kittcat - I just went to the site that you listed. I think it would be awesome if we all attended as a group. I am wondering if we can get any special discounts or something like that since we are a group coming from all over the US? Not that the money wouldn't be spent wisely but I lived in Europe all of my youth and bartering is something I tend to do naturally.
If ya'll want, I can send an email to them and let them know that the TaTa Sisterhood is coming into town!
-
What the heck is Chip and Dale?
-
Steph.. I am up tonight with grandbabies.... WHY ARE YOU us so late...LOL
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for your efforts here...
I will do whatever you all do.. I will follow the leader..
I am not going to do the Chippendales ...( as you know..hehe.. not my thing)... but I will do about anything else..
Would ANYONE want to go see Van Morrison Sat. night if NOT TOO expensive? I will check into it if anyone says yes... I LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!
I am a " brown eyed girl.." LOL
Steph.. ((( hug)))
-
Well my opinion is... I REALLY think we need to go to the paint the square pink thing. It just makes sense. If we were to tell them how we met and all of our locations and how we planned this trip to all come together, I think it would make an awesome story and impact!!
BUT we need to ALL go if we decide to do this. Then we need to register for it.
Susie has an in....so I will wait for her to pipe up on the show thing. She will find out tomorrow what the results of her cuture tests are.
I still would love any advice on the fingernail thing. I had mentioned it earlier but I don't think anybody noticed it...but my nails are receding like they did when I was going through chemo. I'm wondering if it's the herceptin or tomoxifen...dunno, but I had to take my acrylics off and it's just killin me! URGH I MISS MY NAILS!!!
Anyway...YAY Laura on your scan!!!!!!! WAAAAAHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think with all of our stinkin medical bills none of us can afford too much so I love the idea of hangin out and visiting. I love the slots so I have to dabble a bit. :-)
ok.next..........
-
Jazzygem - I total agree with the group attending the Pink Thing - I think that would make this trip so extra special for all of us and we would also be representing all of the other ladies here at BCO that are not able to attend this gathering.
Wish I could give you some help on the nail thing but first off - I only paint my nails for weddings, anniversaries, and funerals. You have to remember I am simply a barn girl that never wore make up and always had her hair up in a ponytail. My nails are all dented and the white has receded towards that back of all of my nails. I just keep them as short as possible. Some wanted to lift off more than others.
I can't afford to do too much myself on this trip so I am in for maybe 2 shows and the Pink Thing. I need to keep my meals as cheap as possible. I just spent $800 on my horse this week between the 2 week long vet stay and the farrier coming on Friday that I really need to watch my money since I haven't worked since January. I am trying to get through radiation and then back to work asap before I use up all of my savings. I have hesitated looking for a job this month due to radiation fatigue and the fact that I need the Friday and Monday off for this trip and it doesn't look good to take off the 2nd week of a new job so I am in a way stuck to really finding a job until after this trip.
Estepp - if everyone is going to that Chip and Dale thing (which I could care less one way or the other), maybe you and I could spend that time dying my hair and then hitting the slots for those FREE drinks!
I love nickle poker machines! I can go for 4 days on $40 and still have money left over!
Not sure why I am still up, it is almost 12:30 in the morning - maybe I need to head upstairs and take an ambien or valium so I can fall asleep in the next 30 minutes.

There is so much to do here in Vegas. You really can't go wrong. If I were coming into town, I'd probably stick with the Strip over Downtown though. It's a little safer on the Strip. Bellagio is a beautiful hotel. They have a restaurant called Olives, where you can see the water show right from the balconi. Paris has a nice restaurant that is also inside/outside called Mon Amie. It faces the Bellagio. Mandalay Bay is one of the nicest hotels on the Strip. All of the restaurants are excellent. Harrahs has a really fun outdoor bar area on the Strip. And there's always Margaritaville at the Flamingo! Best margaritas (not cheap), but the atmosphere is fun with Jimmy Buffet music and videos. Just some ideas from a local!
You gals will have a blast!

-
I was going to stop by the Susan G Komen office tomorrow and get more information. I can ask about group rates or something like that for the Paint the Square Pink event. It's at Town Square, which is a nice outdoor mall on the very south end of the Strip.
-
Yes, PLEASE find out for us Kitty!
Ladies... I really think we should attend this too. It is so hard to plan all this over the net..lol
As far as shows... whatever you all deside. I will enjoy just being with you...:)
It is getting so close.. and I am getting EXCITED!!!
-
JAZZY.. I have no idea about those nails.. I know my eyelashes keep falling out... I HATE IT!
this is the second time AFTER chemo that the fell out...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Have no idea.. I figured mine keep falling back out due to Herceptin...and I KNOW Herceptin is the reason all my nails.. my LONG natural nails cracked off to short little nothings....
Doctors did tell me Herceptin can cause nail issues.... sooooooooooooo... if I were to "guess" at your troubles.. I would blame Herceptin...
Good luck and sorry about this!
-
I would love to do the Paint the Square thing! What a perfect thing for us as a group. I am not interested in the Chippendales show, but would be interested in any of the Cirque de Solei shows.
Thanks to all who are helping to plan.
-
Ladies.
I would like a head count...
I am the first to land in Vegas Friday morning it seems. I want to wait for ALL ladies getting to Vegas before NOON!
Please PM me your airline... flight # and time of arrival.. How fun to be greeted by eachother. As we all get off the planes.. we will greet the next gal! I will have a sign... LOL.. that says..
Ta Ta Sisterhood so that you know it is me and the others....:)
If you land AFTER Noon... then I think SOMEONE else needs to get this info for you...
Who lands after NOON that would like to MEET AND GREET at the airport? Who can take charge of the 12-4pm gals...???
I will take the 8am-Noon gals....:)... PM me ladies... HOW FUN ..it is two weeks out.. and I am REALLY getting excited!....

I think I have all phone numbers in my cell phone.. wahooooooooooooooooooooo
if you need mine..PM me.. and if I don't have yours... Pm me....
I am SO thankful to Steph and Gisella and Tracey for their efforts here !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Laura - meet me at 12:00 noon which is what time my flight arrives - Southwest #3881.
If you wish I can take the 12 noon until 4 pm shift (using YOUR sign) as I was planning on waiting for FirstMate who gets in at 1:30 pm. Now what happens to our luggage if we stay in the secure area for hours? Once we go to baggage claim to get our luggage, we can't get back into the secure area. Should I just make arrangments with the flight personnel to hold my luggage at a certain place? I don't see why they wouldn't do that especially if I play the cancer card

-
Hey Jazzy-I forgot-Thanx for reminding me about pinky lee & Clare coming instead-extra plus on our flight!!
Got great news today-all the serious infections are gone-YIPPEE!! The culture from the boils came back as a skin bacteria-have to keep an eye on it for the next month, small possibility that it could be a stitch that didn't disolve from the surgery. My other issues-low grade temp./neausa/overall yuckie feeling is from coming off the pain meds to soon. Was reminded that it's only been about a month since surgery & pain meds are still needed-so back on them & then taper off after a week.
Love the PINK square event-sounds like our kinda place!! As I mentioned before-I do have a friend who is setting up entertainment for the nites for Jazzy & me & when I find out what they are,can see if anyone might want to go depending on prices I know.
Jazzy/Clare & myself are getting to the airport by 11:18am.
Can't believe we are soooo close to meeting everyone!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

Okay, so I stopped by the Susan G Komen office today and talked to Stephanie, who is the events coordinator (she's soon becoming the director for this office). They fixed the link on the website to buy tickets. It's $35 to buy them in advance. Here is the link: http://www.komensouthernnevada.org/sup.php?id=75
I asked her if they had any special discounts for groups and she said no.
The money covers the wine pairings and event. I told her that there might be survivors coming from all over the country. She got pretty excited about that. Anyway, all of the people in the fashion show are survivors or co-survivors, which I thought was pretty cool. I haven't paid for tickets yet. I'm trying to convince my hubby to go and friends here, too. If you guys decide to go or not, let me know. It would be great to see you. -
OK.. Van Morrison... OUT... Friday night is the meet and greet....ok.. NEXT...lol
Jancie... good point!
What about if all who get off the plane... get your luggage.. and go to the Starbucks? There is only ONE Starbucks at the Vegas airport.. RIGHT??? anyone know...
I can be sitting there with the Ta Ta Sisterhood sign... and then.. can leave the sign for the noon-4 gals..... ( jancie and Robin.. and who ever else...:)
How does this sound???
