Jayne, hugs to you, dear......Hope your chemo is over soon...
Well ladies it is a sad time for me....A friend of mine passed Saturday...She had just turned 38 on Friday...She had 3 children ages 2, 5, and 7......She was the kind of person who made you feel is if you were the most important person at the moment......Even though she herself was so sick, she put others first.......Her name is April Kruger and she was and always will be an inspiration to me.....She taught me that no matter what always keep a smile on your face........ -
((((((((((Jayne)))))))))))))) I hate that dreaded thrush!!!!
((((((((((Hollyann)))))))))))))
MUM.... such good news!!!!
Heard Texas was having some pretty harsh weather this a.m., prayed for our "Texas's" safety!
I have grandkidlets while dd goes to doctor...then on to surgeon's office to for follow-up checkup. whew! I'm gonna miss my nap....
xoxoxo
-
Arnie -- love your dancing animals. Will also pray for our TexasRose.
Lucy -- I am so sorry about your loss. My goodness, so young and such young children. ((Hugs))
I am going to see my orthopedic surgeon today (the drive takes longer than the appointment!). Tomorrow I see my podiatrist. I need to see a neurologist very soon.
-
((((Lucy)))) so sad about your friend April.
Kathleen hope all goes well with your appointments.
Arrnie I love the dancing animals too.
Mary be safe with that bad weather about.
-
Hoping all is well or improving for everyone. -
Don't remember who asked but .... Family here is good - Mom is doing great (but healing slower than she wants, but docs are happy). All the path reports for her are good...what a great relief. I really dread the day when she is no longer just across town. I feel so lucky that not only do I love my mom, I like and adore her. I like doing things with her, she's funny, willing to try things, loves road trips. Its been so wonderful being nearby in my adult yrs. I so miss my Dad for all those reasons. Opps starting to ramble.
Hugs to all

Hey! Hey!
How is everybody? I don't want to start listing names because it will get me in trouble!
Too far behind to catch up and can't remember squat anyway.
But I do want to say I am very sorry for your loss Lucy. My prayers for all who loved April.
Everybody else- you are always in my thoughts and prayers. We did have quite a bit of rain overnight and flooding but not too bad where I am. Some roads closed. We were about to turn into dust and blow away over the summer and now we are flooding in the fall, but it's usually that way here. The good news is that it all blew out from my area late morning and turned into an absolutely beautiful day in the afternoon.
I haven't been around much. It's been two weeks since my last chemo. I've been floundering a little and trying to figure out how to get on with my life. After 8 months of living every second trying to beat this, I don't know how to be "normal" anymore. I need to figure out what that is now. It's been an odd and hard adjustment and one that I wasn't expecting. I am doing better now. Learning to enjoy every day and the anxiety has lessened. It's just been a weird place to be. I know that y'all understand. I can't even put it into the words I want to say. It's not coming out right. And it sucks to be done with treatment and still see this bald head staring back from the mirror. The good news is that my hair is growing back...just not fast enough for me. I need to learn patience...but I need to learn that in all areas of my life! LOL
I went for post chemo tests this week. Labs were good. Everything is back to normal except my lymphs. ECHO and EKG were normal. No changes from the last one. And my chest x-ray was negative. So chemo didn't kill me. It just felt like it sometimes. LOL I am starting the bisphosphonates trial next Friday. And my port is coming out on Monday!!! VERY happy about that!
Anyway, love and hugs to all of you! You are always in my thoughts.
Mary

Jayne - the orthopedic surgeon gave me a "atta boy" = he said my range of motion is pretty good but I will need to work on my strength. How are things with you?
Mary - so glad you weren't washed away. In the Washington area we always have a little Monsoon season in between the four seasons. Rains for about 10 days in a row. Last summer we practically got washed away and then toward the end of that summer we had a drought and had to conserve water. This year has been very nice.
EWB - glad you Mom is doing good - I am envious of your relationship with your Mom!
It is 75 degrees here in mid-October! I don't know how to get dressed to go out - summer or winter clothes! As long as no ice, I'm happy.
BTW, my car had leaked oil before I realized it needed to be fixed - big I spot on driveway. One of the workers we've had in the house told her to coat the stain with Dawn dishwashing detergent and when it rains, it will wash everything away. If it rains really hard and long I am afraid we are going to have soapsuds all over the neighborhood. If we do, I'll take and post pictures.

Hey bunnies!!
Big, fun day..... sending out hugs to everyone in need.
Mary, I send you hugs as you make it officially over to the other side.
Hugs Up & down the dust bunny trail.

Nighty Night my sweet dust bunnies!.....Hugs, love and prayers.....Sleep tight all.....

Good Friday morning Bunnies!
((((MaryRose)))) I know exactly how you feel. When I finished chemo, I felt LOST......like, now what do I do? I'm supposed to feel better NOW!! My hair is supposed to be back NOW! But it all started gradually getting better----energy, strength, hair, nerves. You talked about being normal again, but I don't think we'll ever be the normal we USED to be. I think we'll have a new normal. It is hard to adjust, especially if you have to continue with hormone therapy. I'm on Arimidex, and I sure don't feel like the person I used to be before BC. But!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel thankful to be alive and feeling "pretty" good most of the time. Just take one day at a time and enjoy the little things in life. I think about you lots and know you'll start feeling better and better. Your hair will come in all of a sudden too. I can almost put mine in a ponytail. I always had long hair, but so many people have told me they like it better short......so I'll have to see about that
(((Hugs to you)))
Jayne--you're almost there. So sorry you had some setbacks. I remember now about the shingles. But you're getting there now. Good for you!!!
(((Lucy))) so sorry to hear about your friend. That's so sad. It seems like everything happens all at the same time, doesn't it?
Hugs to all you bunnies today. Too early to remember EVERY name, but I do think about you all often!!
Sure wish this little guy would come clean my house
-
Took your idea we are hiring them young Coonie. I see you are an early riser.
-
Good morning Mum
Yeah, I'm an early bird.
Seems like kids enjoyed cleaning more when they were little.
Once they grow up, it's not so much fun anymore
-
Thats for sure you do not want to see my grown daughters bedroom.
-
Good morning cutie patooties! This little one is not in the mood to clean:
Coonie - perfect picture of the boy sweeping!
I, too, am an early riser. Everyone else in my family thinks sleeping to noon is good. If I even sleep until 9 a.m. I feel like the morning is shot.
Have a great, pain-free day.
-
Here's a nice arangement for the dinning room table.
-
Mum - did you do that - it is gorgeous - my cat would munch on those dried leaves.
-
awhwhh Kathleen!!! What an adorable baby girl!!!
Nice table arrangement too!!
You feel good today?
-
Feel okay except for this darn arthritis ... its a quandry - do you take enough pain pills to either get addicted to narcotics or ruin you stomach with Advil? Oh, well. And how are you this dark morning - sun is just rising here in lovely historic Virginia.
-
It's still pitch dark here....only 6:35 am.
I have a prescription for mild pain relievers (low dose darvocet I think). I will usually take one if I'm hurting really bad. My doc said they weren't addictive. Guess they could be if you took too many. I think this cold weather brings arthritis out in full force. ugghhhhhh
-
When my hands and feet get bad I take Meloxicam It is not a narcotic and it is suposed to be easy on the stomach.
-
My, you ladies are up early this Friday. Have had my Friday and am spent and just about to head off to bed. Did some gardening yesterday and my brain believes it can do more than my body thinks it can do.....Brain won yesterday but today my body told me that I had done too much!!
So you all have a great day and I will see you all in about 10 hours to catch up on all the fun you guys have had while I am asleep.
Take care and big hugs
Viv
-
Nighty night Viv!!! Sweet dreams!
I love the pic of the kitten.....soooo cute!
-
Thanks Coonie,
Hope that you feel better later....You could always come over here and endure the heat wave that I know will be coming this summer. Yah ...heatwave and hot flushes..Yahhhhh!!!!
-
Good morning, bunnies. You've already been having a party!!
I just wanted to report that our periodically technologically challenged Coonie has figured out how to navigate the AmCancerSociety's webpage and has made a generous contribution to my little team that will walk on Sunday.
The name of our team is: "Away We Go for Heidi Ho." In honor of her valiant fight against this disease and in honor of the many women we've lost recently.
I have today to attempt to get caught up: the ever present paperwork nonsense, proposals & invoices and must do some laundry if we are to have clean underwear for next week's trip.
We will leave on Monday for a week away -- thru Chicago, saint's house, and a quick hop to close our summer place for the season. We had my sister & BIL and friend's of my DD take advantage of using it during the fall colors season. We've never been there in anything other than summer, so we're excited.

To add to the pictures of young children 'enjoying' cleaning.
Here are my twin babeez, who are obviously not babeez anymore. They are now 18 months.
One of their absolutely favorite things to do is to 'clean' with full sized brooms & mops.
Sarah took this picture last week. Toooooooo funny.
WB also has this great love. For Christmas last year they got him his own 'cleaning cart' with all sorts of child sized vacuums etc. How nutty is that?? These are my biological grandchildren, but I can promise that the cleaning gene skipped a generation in me!!!! LOL.
-
Enjoy Faith remember we want photos.
-
Today is my 1 year cancerversary. Wow, what a year! I have gone through and changed so much in the last year. But, I can honestly tell you I am very grateful to have met all you wonderful bunnies!
Mary, I can totally relate to what you are saying. Even though you cannot express it in words, I am positive I have felt the same way.
-
Cheryl! WHOOOOHOOOOOHOOOO!!!!
I just saw on FB that today is our OH-Deb's cancerversary, also. Amazing that you share the same day in that regard.
Tomorrow is OH-Deb's actual birthday.
So I say we start the party now....... in honor of such milestones & we keep it rolling all weekend!!
xx00xx00xx00xx
-
Coonie & Mum - thanks for the advice. I'll try both!
October 3 was my cancerversary. I, too, am grateful to have all of you in my life - that is the only good thing that came out of this mess.
Faith - those twins are too too cute. Safe travel.
