......and where is Cathi?

Hi, honey bunnies. I have not fallen off the face of the earth, if anyone was wondering. Just having another bout of exhaustion. That's what I get for thinking I was starting to feel normal again & able to do lots of fun things after work.
I had my regular annual physical with my PCP 2 weeks ago & we talked about the infamous cancer fatigue. His wife had breast cancer 6 years ago (& is okay, thank goodness) so he really knows what this is like. He's a sweetie, I've known him as a fellow healthcare clinician for a long time, so he's a friend, too, and really listens & never talks down to me. Anyway, long story short, he ordered every lab that made sense and most of them were fine, but all my blood counts, white, red, etc. were either at the bottom end of normal or just below normal, which is unfortunately the result of the up-to-two-years effects of radiation. But at least I know I'm not completely nuts (just partly nuts...LOL) and that there's a reason why I feel sort of okay, then run out of steam and crash. I'm doing all the right things, really, to deal with it, but a lot of the time, the right thing to do is crawl home from work and sleep. So, that's what I've been doing. You know, I love sleep, but not like this, when it's like oxygen when you're short of breath and gasping.
Arnie & Barbe, BIG HUGS TO YOU!! Arnie, I remember having a massive meltdown in my surgeon's office last November or so, after radiation was done and after the swelling had gone down in my breast from the surgery. And suddenly, there it was, my two-thirds missing, mutilated, shrunken breast, with divets and valleys and a tight, puckered incision scar around the nipple. And I had to go see this woman who admittedly saved my life but also left me this way. And I was sooooo angry but I didn't want to be angry with her. Awful. I got in the door & she asked me how I was & I sobbed.
EWB is right. I have had so many times when how I felt was "I want my mommy." I wrote a blog post about it: Sleeping With The Light On
I've missed you all. If you don't hear from me much in the next week or two, I'm asleep, dreaming about posting here!!

Lucy, it was my day to be weepy, earlier in the week. Ups & down & up & down. Buckle your seat belts -- roller coasters have nothing over walking this journey together.

It's so much fun to spend time with the two BIG brothers: 6 & 2...... We see them so seldom & it's great to be able to focus on playing with them.

P.S. Dream I meant to offer an answer to your question about blogging.
I have mine thru blogspot.com (which is a google product)
It doesn't cost any money what-so-ever.
You can actually go to my blog & on the top it says, create a new blog..... click on that and just follow the directions. You just need an email address.
You can pick your own template and colors etc.
I would HIGHLY recommend the experience...... especially with your skills for writing.
Uploading pictures is literally a 'click' if you download Picasa (another Google product.)
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I leave this thread for 2 days and then I have 4 pages to catch up on
I can't even begin to do individual shout outs so......
So much enjoy the pictures that ya'll post here - especially the animal ones!
I started on this thread because I became motivated to get my house clean......not any more! It is way much more fun to find ways to get OUT of housecleaning. My dh is out of town - he left Monday. I finally broke down and emptied my dishwasher and reloaded it - this is of course after 5 days of dirty dishes in the sink and on the counter.
Oh.....I had such grand plans to declutter my house while he was gone and now instead I am being lazy - watching TV in bed, going out to see my horse, etc.
The only useful thing I have done all week is walk 3 times this week so far.
Barbe - glad you are back posting!
-
Oh goodness Jancie.......girl, it looks like you've done enough to last for the rest of the month. Sooooo......that gives you the right of the monthe FREE!!! No housework!!! Just play with your horse!!! We'd love to see more pics of your horse.
-
Coonie haven't heard nothing from Mom...I can PM you with her number, I'm sure she wouldn't mind, it is her cell though so she may not have it turned on, I caught her going to the doc with her DH.
As for me, I feel horrible.First they tell me I have pnuemonia..so I take all the meds they gave me for that. Last night I bet I got 3 hours sleep, I was up choking and coughing most of the night. So today I go back to the doc, now they're saying I have something called radiation pneumonitis...basicaly what it is, is your lung has become inflamed and swelled up from the radiation..since it's swelled, the lung thinks there is something in there, which causes you to cough...So now it's OMG, prednisone, Zithromax because the prednisone lowers your immune system and she was afraid mine was already low, Mucinex D and some cough syrup, phenaragan with codeine...........get chills, and just dead tired all the time..I hate it.......But if I can whop cancer, I can whop this!
Hugs!
-
Geez Deb, I'm sorry to hear you've got yet another thing to deal with. Gentle hugs and prayers for a speedier than speedy recovery.
-
Good for you Barb! I hope you make it home tomorrow!
Coonie, you let me know when you want to go to the Cape, you can come with me. I'm heading back there tomorrow morning again. It's my escape!
Jaincie, we are a chatty bunch! Glad to hear we turned you off from housework too.
-
Oh Deb, I hope you feel better. I can't believe all that you have been through. Get some rest and remember, Housework is bad for your health!
-
Deb! Just what you don't need your poor burned chest to be doing...coughing! I hope they have it right this time... {{{{{{{ hugs }}}}}}}}} and your DH probably is frustrated as HE can't sleep either with your coughing, so a vicious circle.....
Jancie, I thought everyone had this week off housework because I'm in the hospital!?! What the heck did I stay in here for if you're going to go and empty out your dishwasher? With your DH out of town???? Are you crazy woman?
We take turns being very ill on this thread so no one has to do anything. I picked up from arnie, who should be well into her anti-biotics, and now that I'm going home tomorrow, Deb is taking over. See?
Oh, it's alright. No harm, no foul. Just remember for next time. You have to hide from this thread if you're going to <GASP> cheat on us! That's probably why mom is missing...she's cleaning up from her company. KAK is tired because she cleaned, Sharon disappears for hours at a time, and see what happened to Deb?
Obviously, I'm back in fine form.
-
Oh Deb............enough already!!! Tell those se's to STOP... GO TAKE A HIKE??? --ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Geeeeeesh. You've suffered enough.
Linda,, I'm not quite packed. What all do I need?
Sharon, you going too?
-
Hey bunnies, I need some advice. Tomorrow and Sunday I work 12 hr days at the hospital. I am apprehensive because I was so tired this week after working Monday and Tuesday I spent my last 3 days basically sleeping. I started back doing 3 12hr days a week about a couple of weeks ago. So far I've been whipped after work. How long should I stick it out to see if I acclimatize to the schedule or admit I am not strong enough to work full time as of now? I appreciate any feedback you could give me. I'm stressing out over it. Thanks for all your support!
-
Barbe - I sure did miss you - you just crack me up! No worries - I did the kitchen this morning and I already have dirty plates and glasses from lunch and dinner back in my sink. Didn't even bother to put them in the empty dishwasher.
So once again my kitchen is a mess and I don't care anymore.
Deb - hope you get to feeling better really soon! That sucks that you have to be on steroids!
Cheryl - I flat out quit working when I got diagnosed. Thought about going back to work but then got chemo brain so I figured I would get fired within 2 weeks of finding any job. As far as I am concerned, the least amount of time you work the better! Kind of like housecleaning - only do what you absolutely have to and if you can get by working part-time - go for it!
Coonie - I always love to share pictures of my princess Jazzy so when I get some new ones next week I will post a couple. That darn brat jumped out of her pen area over the weekend. She lives in an outdoor pen with a huge shade tree and shelter for when the weather is bad. The pen is probably 75' x 75' and the fence is 4' high. They found her just wandering around the property on Sunday. She cleared the fence but crashed on the way down. Now I know why she has scraped both front knees and the front of her nose. Didn't really want a jumper horse but it appears that is what she is going to be. That is the 3rd time she has jumped out of a pen or pasture - twice at the old barn and now the new barn. The first time she did it, she was only 1 year and 3 months old.
-
Barb, I thought we all had housework off since you were in the hospital. You mean it was only for the weekend??? I haven't been hospitalized yet because I DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone should learn from me, PUT the dust rags down and back away from the vacuum. We all remember what happened to Cath's vacuum.....they are dangerous!!
Coonie, A bathingsuit and some sunblock. We can pick up the lobsta rolls along the way! Sharon is welcome to come!
X,a s I said on FB, SLOW DOWN!!!
Jancie, I look forward to seeing pics of yoru horses. I love horses!
I'm going back to the beach tomorrow. I will miss you all.
-
I went for my nightly walk with my neighbor - the one that introduced me to Flylady.com, the housekeeping organizing website and told her that I have NOT done one thing all week except unload my dishwashwer and reload it this morning.
I told her that I was so motivated until I learned that this thread is all about NOT doing any housework and so I feel totally disloyal to all my buddies here if I even do one simple housecleaning task. She laughed her butt off!
-
Jancie, You done good! Have a great night!! Good Night!!
-
Deb so sorry you are under the weather, sweetie.....Praying for a quick recovery.......
arbe hope you come home tomorrow...Bad Mick!.....40 lashes with a bullwhip for you MIcky my boy!....

-
