FINALLY had my right TE replaced on 6/11. So far I had a bit of an infection - still some redness - but it looks like this one might hang in there! WHOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!
Glad to see that some of you sistahs were able to meet in person! I love that!
By the way...I did two loads of laundry & cleaned our bedroom & bathroom today! I noticed after I got out of the shower that my right TE incision area is looking a little more red than yesterday so I am going to take it easy for a few days.

Good grief you two. I've been done tx for a few years...........and I get days off!!! I will try to make sure the housekeeping fairies visit you ASAP!!!!!!!
Edit to add a very small but mighty cleaning fairy.
-
Thank you Sharon! Great re the fairy! my little girl will love that.
I speak to her "sleep well fairies" that live in her ears (I made them up one night and we have been just adding facts and stories about them ever since that one ight when I needed to help her go to sleep!). It's been going on a long time. They are in charge of looking after her at night time and ensuring she gets a good night's sleep. We've woven a real set of stories around them, it's a bit of majic special mum daughter time.. she asked me a while back if they were real or made up cause fairied don't really exist? Well I left it up to her to decide, and well, because she enjoyed the stories and the special time I guess, she decided that she would continue to beleive in the sleep weel fairies, that live in her ears. Hummm, they are quite good stories, maybe i'll put them all in a book someday.
Oh I digress! Best go to bed before Barbe comes on to tell me off!!xx Still, it isn't midnight yet.
Thanks Sharon. BTW, I have it on good authority that you are an absolute gem and sweety, so am honoured to "meet you " from time to time here.
nighty night,
Shiny

Boy would I like to be done with treatment, but in my case that would be a bad thing
as so we trouge along day by day.
Shiny, my son has learning disability, not as involved as yours though. I remember the visits, planning meeting etc and I am with you as you go thru the documentation, meetings, reports etc. In our case the school layed out its plan and then NEVER carried it out (from 7th grade to 12th grade) explaining to us that they couldn't MAKE the teachers carry it out....huhh. It was their idea to classify him, their ideas for the plan, they signed it as did we...legal binding document. We finally gave up fighting and did lots of work at home with him. Its amazing he did sooo well and still loves learning. I take full credit for it.
What you are doing takes a lot of work, effort and love. You get lots of days off!
We all need to goof off, have fun, play like kids, enjoy life being goofyheads (as my brother likes to say) and worry anout things less. Why should children have it all?Why do we feel guilty for not always being in work mode? What are we waiting for? As well all know life changes quickly and never know when. Time off, play in sprinklers, watermelon juice running down our arms, chasing the ice cream truck...sleeping well at night cause we're all tuckered out.
Thats my thought for the day

EBW, I know you know, as per your post, I can tell you've been there with the Special needs stuff. I gave up on his original school as they were sooo crimanily lazy and inward looking and had not ambition for any of the children. This is my second time at tribunal, but last time he ended up in a terrific local school and things are looking positive for this next tribunal, just a heck of alot of work.
I am so with you on the right attitude to life! I do speak in jest a wee bit when I ask for a day off, cause I know i deserve it. (It's cause my DH is not quite so relaxed about this stuff, and I don't want to feel his angst when I am already whooped sometimes that I push myself, nevermind)
I feel very blessed for each day I get with my kids. You have the right idea, I am with you on that. Yeay for the multitude of precious moments each day can bring if we look for and expect them, or make them happen. I have known and lost many friends too early, since childhood. I feel blessed with each day.
All my very bestest vibes1 coming your way. And all my best to your kiddo too.
Thanks for your thoughts, it's hard to understand all that is involved in all the SEN stuff unless you've been there, don't you think.
Shiny (best get off to bed)

I loved the Goodnight Fairy story Shiny... how precious is that... I know you've probably gone off to bed... but sweet dreams to you and your precious family.
EWB... what a neat story about giving up on the schools and doing it yourself!!! I took two years to homeschool my ADHD son because the school was calling him a "bad" kid... nothing could of been further than the truth. He's grown up to be the man I knew he would be... it was a very special time for us... used to read his science book up in a tree house in the backyard... I absolutely loved teaching him from home.
Sharon... so glad to see you posted... did you clean today??? Or am I the only one in trouble
Thanks for the gentle hugs....
(((((((((((hugs to all of the dustbunnies)))))))))))))))))))

Shiny and EBW - I've been where you've been and there is nothing more terrifying than a mother who wants the best for her child. It got so even the lunch ladies tried to hide when I walked in the school. But, my son graduated just before he turned 21 with a regular diploma (not a GED - which he said was a "good enough diploma'). He'll be 25 in July and is going to start college (2nd attempt) in the fall. He's been pretty stable for a while now, so I'm thinking he may be able to do it this time.
BTW, my "cleaner" is coming on Wednesday. So, that gives me tonight and tomorrow night to pick some things up before she comes.
-
Hello from the future...(okay it's tuesday morning here)
Great to see the picture of deb, mom and faith.
Only wish I lived closer so I could meet you all. There is a big lottery tonight worth 90 million so when I win it I will be sure to jump on a plane and visit you all. Please send good positive thoughts so I can win.....please!!
Still no word from the housework fairy....Just can't get good help these days.
Well have to go for the moment and pay bills....fun times
Check back with you all later
Hugs
Viv
