Good morning everyone.   The second load is in the washer and first in the dryer.  Layering may be a good way to dress but it sure makes the laundry pile up.

Thanks for the rolls and coffee.  I have a friend who is a chemist and told me that plastic is porous. Any food packaged in plastic bags or plastic bottles has microscopic holes that allow air to eventually get in - one main reason there is an expiration date.   So, why are so many things packed in plastic?   Soda pop, mayonnaise, salad dressing, even olive oil.   I thought glass was one of the easier things to recycle and of course can be boiled and sanitized to reuse.  The discussion got around about plastic baby bottles and plastic liners for them... wondering IF that has contributed to an increase in diseases, such as BC?   Just some thoughts as I ponder the chores for today.

Barbe, I had a friend who did not wear underwear, because she claimed you wash the other clothes anyways, so why bother covering the "intimate" parts?

    Hugs,   Nancy

Hey barbe...my dog eats her own poop! That cannot be sterile!! totally gross!! You know they make a product that makes dog poop taste bad. haha. Yes for real they do!

So ladies, I was talking to my neighbor, Sheryl, yesterday. MM hmm.. We sat on her porch through the rain storm and chatted happily. She told me she has picked out a man for me. He's a computer nerd, 44, super funny and nice....and available! She has known him for years and apparently he comes highly recommended. He's a southern gentleman(from louisiana).

Today I am going to clean my house. I am so tired of it looking like crud. My teenager is threatening to go live in the dorms in the fall if i don't do something about it. Like the dorms are gonna be cleaner?? Oh HE has a big surprised!! I will let you know what I get done. Already done the dishes so far this morning. Then I had to watch Regis & Kelly for my morning laugh. Now I'm off to clean the boys' bathroom and fold laundry(make more room on the sofa for my afternoon nap).

I won't be washing bath towels today!!!

Barbe - you need to write a book - a comedy about house cleaning!!  I too knew about the mites, saw it on 20/20 or so show one night.  The next day I went out and bought new pillows for everyone.  Thanks for reminding me, now I'll have to buy more.

Nancy - I truly believe many of our health problems are from plastic.  After dx, I stopped drinking out of plastic bottles, stopped using rubbermaid etc for storage and worst of all, reheating in a microwave.  I use pyrex now.  If you investigate what plastics are doing, it's pretty amazing and scary.  I'm not a health nut (diet coke every morning for breakfast!!) but I will be drinking my soda out of a can.  Also, don't cover your food with plastic wrap and then nuke!!  CHEMICALS!!

Stacy - go for it!!  Let us know what happens!

Went to Walmart this morning, checked out and got my credit card denied.  I came home and called and it was because I used it on the internet last night to order some digital pictures.  The total cost of the sale wa 9.00.  So they thought it was fraud.  FOR 9 DOLLARS??  MORONS!!  If you were to steal someones credit card, would you order something for 9 dollars?  I just know that while they were 'investigating' my account, someone else int hsi world got screwed deeply and got away with it!  UGH!!  All is well again in credit card land!

Oh dear, coonie...the neighbor said maybe by summer time.. LOL...she's all for 'taking things slow' since my hubby moved out only 2 months ago. And, hey, if it means I end up with a nice man who treats me well....forever....then summer it is!!

Makraz...I totally get it about the chemicals in plastics. UGH. I am slowly tossing out my plastic storage containers and using more pyrex. There is also controversy about the lining of tin cans, that it contains the same type of chemicals as plastic. So, one should avoid acidic foods in cans...tomatoes, pasta sauce, etc.

Stacy, does this gentleman have an "older" friend or relative. someone suitable for a 63 year old widow?????? LOL...     Yes, Linda, I too have given up as much plastic as I can.  Use stainless steel water bottle and coffee mug.  Can put in dishwasher and "sterilize".

But if you buy any fresh meats, they wrap in plastic bag or styrofoam carton.   I take out and put in pyrex or glass with aluminum foil to cover top when get home.   McD has begun to use "paper" boxes instead of styrofoam for burgers, some places.   One helpful hint for celery.  do not put in plastic,  wrap in alum foil and it keeps for long time.   Air cannot get in.

I am moving forward today.  2 loads of laundry done, having coffee as I take a break.  lunch time soon. and I am done... maybe tv and the recliner for a "rest"...

I just folded my laundry! And put another load in. One more thing done.  Next, vacuuming....I hate that!

I remember hearing about the lined cans but apparently put that out of my mind.  Do you think it'sin my diet coke???  I don't know what I'd do with out it.  I'm not a coffee drinker!

Hi all  -I was MIA all weekend, my granddaughter was over and her brother went to maternal grandmoms, my DD wanted some alone time this weekend, they have moved her biopsy from Thursday to Wednesday, good I guess hopefully will have results a day sooner, she also has her first mammo and US tomorrow.

I have done some small chores this AM, having company this weekend for a family barbacue for Ed's B'day which is actually Tuesday, but weekends work better for everyone, and his brother is a bit over an hour away, they usually spend the night, so the house needs some picking up and I have  a menu to prepare, and try and keep up with Margo,  I never thought I would have another baby @ almost 49 -LOL. But I love it, trying to take her out with me everywhere I go when possible, sometimes she is not crazy about that, and she definetly does not like leash walking, but each day gets a bit better, our yard is fenced  - but she also needs to be leashed trained, she has learned she can "bark" a bit,  pretty funny.   She is napping now so it's off to do something.

    Love to all - XOXOXOXOXO

I think our diet cokes and diet pepsis are safe for now. Since we cannot have alcohol anymore as it contributes to increased cancer risk. BOOOO!! We have to have something to drink.

I got the boys bathroom cleaned. OMG the stenchy stinky filth those boys are content to use without complaint. You'd think they were raised in a barn. I've got their rugs and shower curtain in the wash too. It's a shame really cuz this bathroom was brand new in November. I think it was my hubby's going away present.. haha. Now we'll always remember him when we're taking a SH#T. I tickle myself sometimes!!

coonie...It's a never ending battle with those rotten mites. You can always get the zip on pillow covers that keep the mites from getting in your pillows in the first place....supposedly

I laugh when I hear about "special" laundry soap that kills the mites. I think 45 minutes under water is what does it!

And bleach should take care of them!

Just scraped the crude off the boys bathroom.  It smelled like a restroom in the Boston Garden this morning!  Yuck!!

Finally back! I wound up having to work all day today. Not sure if any of you smoke but please don't, its so sad watching how it takes its toll on people. The effects are like a slow motion suffocation. Looks like after working with patients all these years I would get over it but it still breaks my heart. I don't know what those tobacco execs do with their money but nothing can be worth causing people to suffer so.

As for the house work I think I'm gonna have to try for later tonight after I rest or just start fresh tomorrow. For now I'm gonna go lay my head down on that soft pillow and try not to think about dust mites. Too tired to go out and buy new ones tonight anyway.

Good to see you back on Cathi we missed you.

Oh, but don't get me wrong! The dust mites do us a favour at night. They go onto our foreheads and eat bacteria and stuff lying around on us that we didn't want anyway. You know, sweat and other bodily fluids.

Mom, I had to watch my dad die of lung cancer, so I hear yah.

Hi Mom2two, I hope you are doing well. You sound well and your thread has really taken off. I cleaned house today and am so proud cause I did not feel like doing it at all. I go in tomorrow for my PET Scan at 9am. Please pray for me that I can stay focused on God and not the fear. I have waited 3 months for this test. So we will find out if I am NED or not. I am ready for this journey to end and begin a knew one. Miss you mom and love you too.

Hugs and Blessings for a good day for everyone.  And Prayers go up every night.

I began going through each piece of clothing in the closet and doing "do I like this, do I want this, does it fit, and WHAT was I thinking"...   Also pairing up outfits.  Casual is my style, which I can spiff up with a nice blazer and some jewelry.  One "to die for" black dress -  Just in case, otherwise I have not worn a dress since my son's wedding.  When I moved here 3 yrs ago, the estimator for moving said I had  a lot of clothes.  You know,  keep this or that in case...   or I can wear this IF I lose xxx pounds...

The coffee pot is on, got english muffins also.  Nothing fancy, but join me for a while and have a wonderful day.   Nancy

I used my new breastless chest as an excuse to get rid of TONS of clothes I had been hanging on to. It felt so cathartic! I had a very viable excuse to let a  whole load of cheap/moderate/expensive tops go that I could never justify before.

I did keep hold of favourites that I could wear under jackets, but my goodness it felt good. I have been slowly filling the closet back up with incredible sales this year, but at least the clothes are current and fit!

My only frustration is that pants I bought last month are now too big. I shouldn't be complaining, but hey $$$$

Sounds like everyone is up and at it this morning. I'm going to go back to that dryer and actually take out that load of clothes I keep looking at then walking away from. I will get them folded and then put in another load. You guys keep me accountable to get that and this next load done, ok?

My goodness, just back from 9 day trip to Savannah, Charleston and Myrtle Beach (with dh and lime yellow convertible :D ) and I'm tired just reading to catch up! Have done several loads of laundry this morning and long conversation w/ dh about finances Tongue out. Oh, also rescheduled cleaning lady...very busy morning.....

Lisa aka Coonie...where is your dd studying? My ds is in 3rd yr at Savannah College of Art & Design studying Illustration; dd waiting to hear from 2 more universities before making her decision.

Someone mentioned state of home vs dorm room cleanliness....ds's room, while better than past yrs is kind of scary to walk into; the bathroom, well, lets not even begin that conversation Sealed

Hope everyone is well and the sun is shining,

    Elaine
