Deanna-- I quickly googled Queen Creek Olive Mill and from the pictures it looks fantastic! Wow! What a nice way to spend the weekend. Never mind DH.

I was away for a 4 day weekend and was thrown off my exercise routine. But tonight 45 elliptical! Feels good to be back on track. Tomorrow is gentle yoga.

I was doing the PT exercises for my back while away and it got hurt again! This is very frustrating. I have PT tomorrow and will ask about it. I wonder if it needs more rest. ugh.

I also agree with your comment about thread longevity, Kate.  This group has been THE BEST continuing motivation for me, and I'm very grateful for it!

So I walked an hour and a half today -- basically the same 5 to 6 mile route I've been doing lately.

I'm having BIG issues with my computer today.  UGGG!!!   Ran a scan last night, but it still has a major issue.  What a pain!   (Mentioning in case you don't hear from me for awhile.)      Deanna

Went to physical therapy and they corrected what I was doing. Did gentle yoga and even a down dog! Shoulder blade area okay... Icing it and still taking NSAIDs.

Just happy to have a body that's mostly working...   :)

    Great walking Deanna!

So good to hear you are feeling better Spring. Genle yoga is probably the best.

Deanna, I also googled the Queen Creek Olive Mill, is it on the way or near Scottsdale?  I love Scottsdale!  Shoot, hope you get your computer fixed, I absolutely go bonkers when we have computer issues at home.  I'm on a computer all day at work and although we have an IT dept. all the guys yell "Kari - HELP" haha  I've learned some things.

Spring, so were you doing the PT exercises incorrectly and that caused the pain again?  Its just maddening trying to do the right thing sometimes!! haha

Katia, great news on liking the onc!  Things are falling into place...next stop...job hunt, best of luck!  Good vibes coming your way.

kmmd/Kate, another week to gear up for your surgery, sending positive healing vibes already your way.  I'm taking a vacation day that day to babysit my little granddaughter so won't be checking in most likely.

    Harley, Hey girl! ;)

This is my favorite thread on this site.  I pretty much only check this one anymore.  I have seen though that some of the gals that used to post here now post on an exercise thread.  I always get excited when new gals post here, but then poof they're gone.  I really treasure you gals.

Spring, dealing with some shoulder issues myself, the PT has been wonderful and is already helping me.  My trainer takes her parameters and gives me a great work out.  I wish I could share him with all of you.

Kari, that is the way I'm looking at it now, I've been working out anyway, but, now I'm thinking of it as preparing for surgery, getting ready for it.

Rain here again, I think I need to grow some webbed feet because my shoes just never get a chance to dry out this Spring

Kari, Queen Creek is below Gilbert, SE of Chandler -- probably a good 30 or more miles south of Scottsdale.  We went there first (I-10 to I-60, then south), then up to Scottsdale for the rest of the weekend.

Seems like our severe winds have died down here today, which hopefully means the horrendous outbreak of tornadoes in the Midwest will soon be over, too.  The wind was so bad Monday night, DH went out and moved our vehicles b'cuz he feared the big Eucalyptus tree, which is probably easily 35' tall, might go over, but, thank goodness, it didn't.

So a calm, hot morning, and I walked for a little over an hour.

So who's going to win American Idol tonight???      Deanna

OKay so doing my PT shoulder exercises all through the day and added ice! The MD doc thought I didn't need ice, but the PT lady said ice ice ice. I think she is right. Makes the soreness after after the exercise go away! She said it "calms everything down". Good description!

Tonight is 45 on the elliptical if I can drag my butt up there! 95 Degrees plus here today. Summer came early!!

Kari,  Hey there!!, right back at ya!  I also love this thread.  I don't go on the others much any more...

Spring, hope you are feeling better soon.  OUCH!  It sounds painful!

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Took the day off from exercise yesterday.  Needed a break - so had lunch with DD and DGD (dear granddaughter) and then they both came over for dinner last night, its so cute watching my DH with her - we have to fight for her LOL!

Got my tennies in the car (unless DH wants to go to lunch) haha

Deanna, I knew Scotty was going to win American Idol, I think both he and Lauren will have good careers!

Hi Ladies-- At last, I was able to do some exercise today: went for a short bike ride in the morning and also a long one in the evening. Wow! I had quite a workout. I was a bit out of shape, as I was job hunting all week and did no real exercising. Unless walking around NYC from one agency to another counts. I walked so much that I have blisters all over my feet. I have some good news, though.Thank you the prayers and sending good vibes; I got a temp job next week for two weeks. So, at least I have something to do and meanwhile, I can go on looking for something better and more permanent. Thank you ladies for your kind words and for your encouragements.

survivorwoman, congrats on the job! and on all your exercise!

45 on elliptical Friday and yesterday was a 1 hour bike ride. We got caught in a thunder storm so we were wet and gritty at the end! I tell you, it really feels like you accomplished something when you are wet and dirty when you finish! ha!

Today is a day of rest I think. Visiting the grandparents. I think I will skip NSAIDs today for the shoulder issue. It is healing up nicely - I've been a good girl doing all my PT exercises! I think today just sitting around resting and visiting, is a good day to try no pain reliever. I've been using ice and that really helps!  Yay for healing!

Yay for healing is right.  My last round of PT seems to be helping with some of the chest and shoulder issues you've all heard me complain about so much.  So, I'm hopeful.  Yesterday only happened by the 10 min rule, managed to stretch it a little longer, but, just wasn't into it.  Today I'm excited to get out and about and active again

Spring -- it is so good to hear you are feeling better. Physical pain is awful. It is not only frustrating, but also, sometimes makes people depressed. I am glad you are better.

I did my bike ride early in the morning and I am so glad I did, as it is rather muggy in NY by now. The air in the park was very refreshing and sweet. The trees are blooming. Fantastic workout!

Today I just did some gardening prep and then was mostly a day of rest, but I DID do my PT exercises. No pain relievers today! But I did "ice" three times. I now have this huge ziplock of ice that is perfectly conformed to my back/shoulder area! I use it for 15 minutes and put it back in the freezer. So much easier... :)

Tomorrow is a long bike ride and finishing my gardening. I ripped out pansies and tomorrow in go the begonias - when the leaves come out it goes from sunny spot to shady!

Anyway, hope you all are doing well. How long was our bike ride Survivorwoman? Did you ride in teh road or on bike trails? do tell! Cycling is my favorite exercise right now, I just love the feeling of zooming fast and feeling the wind! :)

Spring, hold on I have to do my PT, is getting to be a common saying in our house.

A wonderful walk yesterday.  After one of the wettest Springs on record here, we're jumping into 90 degrees today.  I'm sensing some band work and a walk in my future

Spring- I love the zooming through feeling you are talking about. Since I live in a city I can only do my bike rides in Prospect Park and pretty much only on the roads where bikes are allowed. I don't think we have bike trails through the woods in the park. And the police is all over the place so I don't want to be in trouble for going on trails that are for walking.

But here is a map of the park for you to see.

    http://www.prospectpark.org/visit/interactive_map

I usually go around the park on the main roads and as my strength is building up, I am thinking about doing two full loops instead of just one.

Did an 1:40 minute bike ride, that is 100 minutes! It was VERY hot. At one point I needed to stop and rest for a few minutes, I was feeling light headed.

    Gardening next!

I also did a bike ride last night: 45 minutes around Prospect Park on an old, rusty and heavy bike. Up the hill/ down the hill...pedal/pedal /pedal.....I loved it! I had a great workout!

Today, I have to chase my doctor for my clinical trial meds. I am running low on them and they won't be enough until I see my new oncologist. Had I not counted the pills to make sure I have enough they wouldn't have noticed it at all. Changing oncologists is so stressful. I also have a job interview at noon. And will start the temp work tomorrow, if all goes well. I keep telling myself to stay calm. OK, I should do yoga right now....... something needs to calm my nerves.

Another day-- another amazing bike ride: 35 minutes on the bike in addition to the 45 minute long walk in the heat. I think I had enough exercise for today. Maybe after my temping job tomorrow I will rest and take it easy.

Good for you Survivorwoman! How did the job interview go?

Gentle Yoga for me tonight, and my shoulder's rhomboid muscle was great! Did the down dogs and everything! Didn't even need ice after, and no pain killers at all for a couple of days now. Thank you God for healing!

Tomorrow is 45 minutes on the eliptical.

I have to tell you ladies, it is BOILING in NC already, and it wasn't even June yet!!!  have all the rest of you heated up yet, or still cool in some parts of the country??

    Spring.
