Thinking Out Loud.....

I think we pay $5 for the dvr, but $10 for the guide service. And that's on top of all the other stuff we have. Too expensive. 17 years ago when we moved in, we paid $30 a month for cable. Now add in internet and digital channels, a dvr and guide and I don't even know what our bill is now - $140?! Sick. I must find something cheaper.
-
Awww - sweet that your dad remembered and was able to get you a card. Glad he's doing better. Mmmmm- chicken and broccoli penne.
-
Mines 140 a month too. Way too much money!
Sheila, I posted the pics of the remote control because I do not know how to use them. Seriously. I am too old to learn now. LOL! I can turn the TV on and off. I cannot tape any shows, etc. SOmetimes I can't even get the TV to come on if the last person using it was using the DVR, blue ray player, stereo etc. I liked life before cable!
-
Linda - can't your boys teach you how to use it? It can be frustrating with all that stuff hooked up. What remote to use for what. Sometimes I have trouble when someone's been watching something else and I don't realize I need to put it on cable - or turn off whatever they were using. It is complicated, but once you know how it's set up, it's easier to figure out.
-
I'm pretty good with remotes. I always teach myself.
Once DD couldn't do the DVR and it was time for me to make fun of her.
I'm very bad posting real pictures. I did it with FB thats it. I don't even know how to add pictures anymore.
Sorry Linda.
i don't know what elderly age limit is, but either I'm too close or in it already.
The first remote looks very similar to mine.
I pay $141.00 every month but telephone and Internet included.
You mean you pay that much just for cable?????????
-
Yes, they could, but I don't really care enough about it to pay attention. LOL!! I am not a big TV watcher so I manage. If I need some help, DH helps. We've got a 65 in TV in our media room with so many different things attached to it, I get lost. In my kitchen is my nice small TV with no cable! I love it!
-
Sheila - you're not even close to being elderly!
If I start getting mad that I can't get what I want on the tv, my son comes running to help. He loves to figure those things out. No cable on the kitchen tv - do you have a box for digital now? I felt like we were going back in time 30 yrs when tv went digital and we needed converter boxes again for tvs that aren't cable ready.
-
Hey Sheila, I sunbathed today with my bathing suit for about an hour. Talk to you tomorrow. Hope you are sunbathing too.
-
chris....I just have the cable wire directly attached to the TV. (in the bedroom)
I have one digital box which is the DVR.
When the girls were still living home i had a second digital for the bedroom.
Im not really complaining I have 3 services covered for 141.00 a month including Canada and free 411.
I wonder if you have the same cable company in CT. Mine is Optimum triple......
-
Oooooh Linda!
Good for you.
-
Sheila, I will be by around 9 to pick you up, or wake you up. I bought plenty of sun block too. We can't use it until we've have adequate vitamin D absorbtion from the sun. Then, we slather it on. The bridge ti Marthas vineyard just reopened. We should go there!
-
Sheila, Sorry I had to leave the beach early today, both my sons had orthodontists appointments. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day there. Who were those 2 men I saw you talking too as I was leaving?
-
One was RPOC, I dont remember the other one's name.
The sun felt sooo good today.
-
Are you back together with Mr. RPOC? I didn't realize that. I think we need to talk.
-
Got a call this morning on my phone at work, it was the CEO of our company wishing me a belated happy birthday. He's a sweetie. Then a few minutes later a belated fall flower arrangement. LOL
-
Something like this only in a glass bowl.
-
this answers Linda's question
-
Oh Deb you were the flower girl today!!!!!!!!!!
How is father doing?
-
That was nice of them Deb!! How is your Father doing??
-
Still doing PT and OT. His balance is off. The PT therapist said he was just standing and started to lean back and would now try to catch himself. So he needs more work
-
I'm glad he's getting the help he needs. I'm sure its painful for you to watch him like this.
(((HUGS)))
-
Agreed Linda...love the flowers....my kids chew the remotes, and I don't have dvr, need it tho..Macy's calling tomorrow, hope everyone is ok!!!
