One of the times in my life that made me very nervous, when I didn't think it would was..

several weeks after my wedding....one night I laid in bed and the thought of what I'd done struck me. The entire night I kept thinking...."what have I done? I don't even know this man and I made a committment before God til death do us part...and I don't even know who he is". (Now, we had dated for 6 years before we were married.). The next morning I got out of bed with the worst case of hives I'd ever had.....my husband looked at me and asked what the heck happened....how could I tell him I had a night of "cold feet".....just mumbled it must have been something I'd eaten......
37 years later and I can still say that marrying him was the best thing I'd ever done.
One of the greatest blessings in my life is.....................

One thing I miss about childhood is....

the long lazy days of summer... I grew up in a neighborhood with lots of kids and we'd all play outside together until our moms dragged us in to bed in the evening.

When I was growing up I had the best pet who...

happened to be a talking parakeet.....he spoke in so many different voices, mimicking whoever taught him a word or a phrase. He would be in his cage chattering away, company always thought we had 3 or 4 birds in there. He didn't fly so would sit on one of our shoulders out on the front porch - he was a hoot. People walking by always stopped to hear him...the hit of the neighborhood.

I have a donation to public radio automatically billed to my credit card monthly but I guess larger donations would have been made about a month ago...Food Pantry...the need is never ending.

another reminder of how powerful Mother Nature is. I am impressed with the preparedness of the authorities.....a good lesson learned by the haphazard pre and post work done in the south for Katrina (which is my namesake..ugh)
