in Seattle Washington at a vinyard. It was a trip given to us by my husbands company. The shower had a temp button to select the degree of the water. Our dinner table had a fire in the middle of it and a glass of wine cost 50 dollars- we didn't spend a dime. It was amazing, and it will never happen again
The worst vacation I ever had was....

I have a couple of those, but probably the worst was when DH and I went to a resort with another couple who were casual friends of ours, and they fought every single minute of the whole trip. Awkward, uncomfortable, no place to go to get away from them, and a heck of a lot of money spent to be miserable!

The best vacation I ever had...

A number of years ago my son, who was in 8th grade, and I flew down to Colorado and met my brother, his wife and son. We jumped in their van and took a totally spontaneous vacation. What ever anyone wanted to see, we went there. If there was something neat along the way, we stopped and did it, if we all had to sleep in one hotel room on air mattresses, we didn't care, if there was a choice of eating supper or going to a hot springs, we went to the hot springs and ate Cheetos (this small town was closed down tighter than any I've ever seen, not even a gas station was open!) It was SO fun.
Another great vacation I had was.....

I took my kids to South Africa for a few weeks. They got to see where I grew up and we had the best time surfing, shopping, game viewing etc. It was so much fun!

back in the late 70's, DH company sponsored a trip to Monaco. At dinner one night, table service included extraordinary beautiful blue napkins. I slipped ours into my purse..before I knew it, my friend sitting next to me had our group send down theirs. I came home with service for 8 - I still have 4 and use them to this day - talk about good linen! Ok, ok, I know...it was pilfering but I was young and figured the hotel could afford it. I have never done that again - well, other than taking bath towels from Holiday Inn....which I have stopped doing, I promise.
