to treat someone the way you would like to be treated. Don't take them for granted and appreciate the person for who they are. Don't think that because you are married they owe YOU something. If you differ in opinion, the person who feels stronger wins- regardless of who is "right". There is such a thing as unconditional love and it is wonderful.

to try new things, be open to new experiences and people with different ideas and backgrounds than you. Don't worry if you try something and it doesn't work out.....it's part of the growing experience.....learning what you don't like can help you discover what you do like. Make some memories!

to try and forgive and get past it Anger is such a destructive feeling and revenge is truly a double edge sword. I think the most impressive thing I'd ever seen in that realm was whe the actor Patrick Duffy (Bobby on Dallas) was interviewed shortly after his parents were brutally murdered. He was totally at peace because he had forgiven them and did not seek revenge. I took a good lesson from that.

find a way to move on. If you stay where you are in bitterness, then they have won. Get involved with life, if you are busy and have things to look forward to you won't have so much time to look back.

Thats a tough one...it depends on my mood. A cold winter day? The more formal living roon with the wood stove going. Other times my living/sun room because it is so bright and comfy. I also like my bedroom to lay in and read a good book when it's raining....

a walking path a couple blocks from my house; even though it is at the edge of town, it is woodsy enough so that it is like walking in a forest.

Ruth....we lived in a heavily wooded area prior to moving here....there were several county forest preserves within 5 min drives in any direction. The dog and I spent many hours walking the trails thru the forests and each time was a little different. I found it so peaceful and serene...always a place to go to do some thinking...any season, it was beautiful.
My favorite sport is football, but I wouldn't want to personally play that!
So I'll say golf - I enjoy the game and wouldn't it be loverly to make money playing the game.

My last meal from beginning to end (this would change almost everyday, I'm sure, but for tonight...) would start with a spinach salad sprinkled with organic eggs and goat cheese on top with apple cider vinegar dressing. Then, I'd have some kind of exotic, white ocean fish ... cooked to perfection ... nice and flaky but not too dry with a hint of lemon, pepper and spice. I'd have a nice glass of red wine, steamed broccoli, baked potato lavished with tons of real butter and sour cream and I'd finish it out with rhubarb pie, flaky crust like my grandma made with homemade ice cream on top. And a nice cup of steaming hot coffee with cream. LOL! I'm so hungry now!

Last night I was where I wanted to be and for the first time, in two weeks, my husband, son, and Naval Acad guest were here and enjoyed a huge home cooked meal that I made. Sometimes I feel so sorry for myself that I learned (always need to relearn this) to do for others to not think about my needs. They loved the meal! Complimented me so much that it did make me feel good.
People who have been my friend for a long time, share these qualities.......
