was the day my son was born
the most romantic day ever was....

my husband is a great man- but not a romantic. When we were together wbout 6 months he took me to his small home town and brought me around and introduced me to all of his friends. At the end of the night we got take out and ate it by a fire and listened to music and talked and snuggled and fell asleep there on the couch. We hadn't said we loved each other yet, but that night I knew I was falling in love with him and him with me. I was very happy and very at peace.
If I could be any age it would be....

49......I was mature but still "young", full of energy, had a job I loved, DH had great insurance through his company, we were able to travel through work, I hadn't had any surgeries, no cancer, most relatives still alive......it was good. But I have to say also that I'm also very happy to be the age I am now.

the weather was perfect; and I was able to work in my yard and go for a lovely walk

clothes! In the last year and a half I had a 10 pound baby. Then had a BMX and reduced my breast size by 1/2 during recon. Lost 28 pounds. Nothing fits me and I wear the same crap everyday.

the fourth of July. It's my husbands birthday, it's summer time, there are fireworks and bbq's with family and friends. There is no stress to it, just fun!
My least favorite holiday is...

I love the 4th of July best too! We always have a big picnic in the backyard with all our friends; everybody brings something, we visit, play croquet.....like yours Laurie; no stress, all fun.
My least favorite is....hmmmm......I will probably get struck by lightning for saying this, but Christmas........because it is sooooo much work getting ready for; all the food and baking of things you shouldn't be eating anyway, people traveling in crummy weather, the cards to get out, presents to buy, the mandatory social events, cookie exchanges, Secret Santas......argh, I'm getting nervous just thinking about it!
That being said; my favorite Christmas cookie is.....

my aunt's: shortbread cookies sandwiching a Hershey miniature bar, with each end dipped in chocolate and chocolate sprinkles. oh.my! good.

a holiday cooking disaster I once had was.....

I made a blue berry upside down cake and an apple pie for dessert. They both turned out undercooked and kind of raw and drippy. Everyone ate ice cream instead and was nice about it. I always say I love to cook- hate to bake!

that is such a tough one! I loved my mothers cooking and I cook a lot of her meals....if I had to pick one I guess it would be (it's a weird one) ground lamb patties with tomato and mozzarella cheese, with fried zucchini sticks served with a honey/mayo dip and roasted red potatoes. These three must be served TOGETHER. I made it this past week and we refer to it as a "Mama Meal".

was told that I had to sit at the table until I cleaned my plate. I waited until everybody went about their other activities and then sneaked into the bathroom and flushed the food down the toilet!

Ruth- I did that too! The best though was one night I was feeding the dog my broccoli under the table, piece by piece. While all four of us are sitting at the table by dog vomited while still under the table!! I was soooo busted as he vomited broccoli- and no one finished their dinner that night we were all so grossed out, lol!!
One time as a child I got sick when I ate........and could never eat it again!
