Lexi - when you call they will ask you how many of the pink roses you want to buy - Rachel asked me that when I called anyway ... It was so hard to order .. I'm glad they knew what it was about - as I was really having a hard time talking ...  teary ..  just thinking about John, the girls and Deb's parents ...

This is a great thing to do and I'm really happy to be part of such a nice tribute to Deb.

Hi TimTam - I just called and ordered you a rose - no need to pay me back, you can pay it forward, and even though I have never talked to you, I have read that you have shared photos with others and I think that is generosity enough.

I did not know Deb or ever read her posts, but I did read last night about her passing and it strikes me because she just lives down the road, and of course we all share this terrible disease.

I just called to order our roses and the florist told me that there have been over 50 roses purchased and that they will likely do 2 arrangements.  I heard someone in the background talking on the phone and she was listing off where people were calling from, North Carolina, Florida, all over.

I think this is a wondeful show of support for her family. thank you for setting this up.

It is 7:30 CST-I just called & it is 4:30 at the flower shop. They will be open until 6 their time--so if you can do the math there is still time tonite. Of course you can call all day tomorrow (but remember the time difference)

I have been in the floral business for over 30 years. What is being done here will be a wonderful tribute & a much better choice than multiple bud vases! As a florist I would also caution that 2 weeks b4 Valentines day & in a remote area--they MAY run out of pink roses---get your orders in early so they can get more shipped if they need them-- I trust that if they run out they will continue to build a beautiful tribute to our girl.

Mona said it has hit close to home--they knew & loved Deb too............she said, "hang tight all BC sisters!"

    Be well & stay strong

Oh and just so you know, Alaska is one hour behind the west coast time, so it is not yet 5 as I am writing this.

I just spoke to Mona.  She was so friendly and helpful.  I wish I could see it, just imagine, pink roses in the midst of an Alaska winter.  That's like our Deb- a rose in winter.

Traci what a thoughtful thing to do for AlaskaDeb.  I just called and Rachel was so sweet and amazed at all the different states she is hearing from.  I know her family will be so touched.  Thank you so much, again, for the info.

You guys are simply amazing, I too am smiling through my tears. I just called and there was no answer (it's 10:15pm EST) so I will call first thing tomorrow morning.

Forgive my memory, but whoever said Deb would be saying "suckers!" to the $26 bud vase, thank you, because I more than smiled at that.

I'll be ordering my rose tomorrow, hopefully I'll have it together by them, as I started crying as the phone was ringing and wasn't sure how effective I would be at giving my credit card number.

Thanks for thinking of this Donna and Traci

I called several hours ago and ordered my roses for Deb - wonder if I was that gal from North Carolina that was mentioned.

Thanks for setting this up and letting us know.  I just want everyone in that small town and Deb's family to now how much she was loved and that she made a difference.  I had a hard time talking to the lady - it is good to feel that I have "done" something to show Deb was special.

I know there have been others that have ordered from other support sites that aren't represented here.

    CasinoGirl ~

ROFLMAO!! I too can see Deb looking down from heaven saying "Suckers" over the $26 bud vase!

And that's what made her our Deb.

I will call tomorrow and place an order. Anyone wanting to be included just pm me with your name and city. Just "pay it forward" sometime. That's good enough for me.

Traci, thankyou for trusting me.  My heart is warmed.  I know you are having cold weather which I find so difficult to fathom.......in Texas??  We are to have another dump of snow tomorrow but I live close to the bank and the post office :)))  Your cheque will be in the mail!  Hugs.

I think this sisterhood on BCO is incredible.

OK I have just donated $30 to BCO in memory of Deb but I also wanted you to know it was made in honor of Vickie aka newvickie, Lori aka Lories and Julia aka jdash for helping me participate this. Thank-you sounds too cheap but I don't know what else to say. Thank you for helping me out with this, and thank you Donna for putting this together and thank you everyone for all your love and support.

By the way, my friend Donna aka djd will call the florist tomorrow. She also will ask them if they can take some pictures of Deb's roses just before they deliver them to the service and send Donna the pix either via email or in the mail. Not sure if they can but it would be cool if we all could see what her roses look like.

Again, thank you all for this wonderful sisterhood and letting me be a part of it!

    xo

I tried calling around 9 Denver time which would have been 7 Alaska time - will call tomorrow and order my rose...I was wondering if they would run out of pink roses...I was thinking if they ran out of pink, maybe white would be pretty...but hoping with all the  roses the sisters are ordering pink will be the only color that they don't run out.

Just think how loved Deb's family will feel when they see all these wonderul roses and the card with all our names..such a nice tribute to a most wonderful spirit...the best smile...

I'm sure whatever colour the florist comes up with will be fine.  I for one am happy whatever colour they use.  I hope nobody wants pink roses in Alaska for a while after this.

Oh, Casino Girl. thank you!! I just saw this and it's 6:44 AM EST, so I will have to call later.

I really didn't know where to start with flowers~~~I guess there are florists almost everywhere, bless them!! I'd thought of asking them to do Deb's headdress in flowers, but it might be hard to describe!

She will love looking down on the huge bouquets of pink~~~and teasing our other Angels about her silly, loving sisters.

This is the only thing that has made me smile since hearing the news...you are the grandest bunch of women in the world.

Thank you Donna and Traci...Donna you made me laugh out loud with the image of Deb laughing and saying "suckers"...

I can do one more if anyone would like to be added and can't...just send me a pm.  Paying it forward.

    Thank you Fumi...you're a gem.

    Hugs

I'm pretty sure that florist had no idea what she was getting herself into when she said she would make the card! But among the many things that Deb taught us, she showed us firsthand that people from Alaska (OK, people who live in Alaska, I know she wasn't originally from there) are tough, resourceful and kind, so I'm sure they'll create something beautiful.

She was just one person in a (to me) faraway state, but what a reach she had!
