That's so nice Vickie.....
I can't wait to see how many more posts there are when I get home from my hour long drive in the freaking ice-storm!
-
Fumi...it is done
-
If anyone needs a rose ordered.... I'll be happy to do it for you. Just let me know.
-
Thank you for this!
I wish we could do this every time we lost one of us here to this horrid disease.
-
What a wonderful group of girls we have here...........hugs to everyone.........and especially to our Deb and her family. This is so amazing.
-
Will order mine tomorrow and let you know that I have done so. I have the grandkids today, so won't have much time for the phone.
This is such a great idea. I wish we could do it for every single one of our sisters.

I just hung up from talking to Rachel and she told me probably about 30 calls so far but could have lost count. Got mine ordered.

o.k. Sharon, done. Your in too! Rachel said "it's an honor to be the one doing this for you girls". I feel so good about this. Thanks again Donna. (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

I am going to call tomorrow.
Laura, we have done this before...maybe for CTG? I can't remember...imagine that.
Traci, you rock, as usual. Hope you are home safe!!! Let's us know. We are a bunch of mother hens here.
Hugs,
Bethie

I just spoke with Mona - she said they are up to around 40 roses. This was such a wonderful idea. Thank you, Donna for thinking of this. It seemed as if Mona is also a friend of Deb's and she said how much they will all miss her. Thank you for giving us a way to express our sadness.
-
Donna....you totally rock too. Thank you so much!!! I think it really does help to know in a small way we can show our love to Deb and her family.
-
Bethie - we did it for Shellie in September of 2007.
-
I can manage to order one more rose if someone does not have the fund available...just send me a pm...
hugs

Thanks for setting this up. I just called them, what nice people.
-
I just spoke with Rachel....she said the calls have been amazing!!!!!!
I too had a hard time making the order as the tears kept wanting to fall at the thought of what a beautiful things this is to do for Deb and her family.....
I wouldnt even fathom to guess how many roses will be there for our Deb on Saturday.
-
I am so touched by how wonderful all of you ladies are..
Deb would have something very funny to say I'm sure...
I can't even imagine how her mother will handle this, maybe some one should prepare her, it may be too much of a surprise..I know as a mom, I would be so speechless..But I'm sure she must know how special Deb was, maybe it won't surprise her at all...
Hugs you are all very special--- Klynn

Donna and Tracy.............Thank you so much for spearheading our 'farewell' for Deb. I just called and ordered my Rose, also. Not sure who I spoke with, but she was so nice and promised to have a beautiful arrangement for as she called it, "Debs Farewell".................
If anyone needs help, we will make sure a rose is there with your name on it..................

I called as well a couple of hours ago and spoke with Rachel. What a kind person and so polite. I ordered three as that is the number of years that I had read her posts. Thank you to Traci and Donna for such a wonderful tribute. With you,Denise,I agree...

Sure hope that small town doesn't run out of pink roses!!!!
-
I just ordered my rose, too. The woman already knew who I was calling about without me even saying. The boards will never be the same...

Mona is such a sweet person. Either I gave her my card number wrong or she wrote it down wrong, but she called me back. I am in Massachusetts. She could have just not included me, but she called to check it. People in Alaska are so nice.
-
I just called and ordered my rose for Deb! Rachel was so nice and sweet and oh so Thankful. She is simply amazed. As I was speaking with her the phone was ringing off the hook. Great job ladies.
-
This is so great! Deb was such a thoughtful, funny, and inspirational force on these boards. She continues to inspire us to make a beautiful memory for her family on what will undoubtedly be the hardest day.
I "warned" Rachel at the floral shop that the volume could be staggering. I told her I was going to post the florist business name and phone #, and asked if the shop was "up to it" and she said she would tell her manager, and make sure all orders were filled....of course, she probably didn't believe me when I said "you'll be getting tons of calls". In Soldotna, AK. a ton of calls in one day might be five or six. Who knows?
Anywho - it's great that Deb's cybersisters will be able to demonstrate, literally, how much Deb meant to all of us. Deb is looking down right now....reading about the $26 bud vase saying, "Suckers"!
Hugs,
Donna

There are 246 posts on Deb's angel thread. I know that in these trying times, even sparing $10 is too much for some...(heck, I couldn't be as generous as Vicki and Liz!!!) but wouldn't it be awesome if we got more than 100 flowers....can you imagine? Just think of what a dozen roses looks like!
I can't wait to see how many more posts we see from girls sending a rose. I keep thinking about how moved John will be. I hadn't thought about her mom.......tears streaming again.
-
I will call tomorrow. I think I'm in the same time zone as Alaska and its 5:20pm. Shop might be closing up. Is it possible to order more than 1 rose?
-
I have seen 100 roses...a resident at the retirement home received 100 roses on her 100th birthday. It is an amazing sight to see. There were roses everywhere and it was so beautiful.
As for being generous...not really...wanted to make sure Fumi's order got in and...truthfully...ten more dollars is all I can do...BUT...its for Deb...its for all of us. If it means that someone gets the chance to have their love on that card then its worth every penny...we are family...no one gets left behind.
I want to go to Alaska and kiss her forehead and tell her "see ya later dear friend"

-
Lexie...you can order as many as you want...
