AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

desdemona222b, I'm thinking that it's a blessing Tatianna is gone, too. But, when we were watching the show last night I told my husband, they're going to bring her back as a Wildcard. I just KNOW it. And I think the same thing about Nick/Norman. For some reswon, the show managers are liking the icky drama those 2 bring to the show. Just appalling, in my humble opinion. Adam and Danny for me. Especially Danny. That little red-head was terrific, though, last night.
-
Yup...It's still Danny for me although Adam is getting to be a close second. What is with those black nails though?????
-
Black nails.. very hot with the young...
-
Yay! Everybody happy with the results? I was......
Don't wanna give it away if you all haven't seen it yet....
-
Yes, I am also happy with the results. My favorite is still Danny! Can't wait for the final 12 to start so I can hear more of him.
-
So glad Nick/Norman didn't make it! What is with the bickering amongst the judges? Not sure this foursome is going to work!
-
Yeah, I noticed that too! I can't say that I really like that other female judge....chemo brain....can't remember the name for the life of me. Probably because I had never heard of her before. Who is she anyway? I did think that the tone of all the judges with each other was pretty *itchy last night.

I think the blond girl with the tatooed arm (is she trying to look like Carly from last year?) was pretty good and could definitely be called back in the wild card--think her name is Morgan (?). But I loved Alison and Adam and so glad they got thru. I was surprised by Kris though--good, but not fantastic. So happy Nick didn't make it--he's a comedian, but NOT a singer!--would've just made a joke of the whole show.

I agree about the bickering among the judges. I think they do most of it on purpose for our amusement. However, it is getting a little ridiculous. Seems to me Paula has been much more quiet this season. Guess she is letting Kara do most of the fighting with the guys.
-
Hey this is a good thread...something new. ADAM LAMBERT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!! Tell me he doesn't look like Elvis!
-
I am obsessed with Adam and Danny. I google them both to see their bios and what-not, but Danny doesn't have much (except his very loving non-profit for his wife). Adam has a ton of video on youtube of him singing and I love listening to him.
I can't believe he is a contender on votefortheworst.com. Bah! -
Is Allison the one that sang....crap, I can't even remember the song she sang but she is only 16 and really rocked it. I liked Adam - I heard somewhere that Adam was in the production of Wicked. I think no matter what happens, he will end up with a contract - he has the whole package - he has the look, he can perform on stage, and he can sign. My favorite so far is still Danny from the first week of narrowing down the finalists. It is an insult that Nick/Norman got so far, and even Tatianna. And I think the judges are doing all the fighting because Paula is going to end up leaving - I don't think she brings anything to the table anymore anyway.
-
I like Kara a lot more than Paula, Paula seems drugged up all the time. Kara offers constructive criticism.
-
What do you guys think of this week? I just don't know if three contestants did it for me. Scott had some moments, I think Felicia Barton really went over the top trying to redeem herself and prove she is worthy. Lil Rounds reminds me of the one lady that was on the season with Fantasia and Diana DeGarmo. Crap, what was her name? Was it LaToya? She was really awesome.
I guess my point is that Lil is the choice for me tonight. I dunno who else.....I want to like Von Smith, but doubt I'd buy a CD of his. -
PS-Jorge was very adorable with his tears and Espanol. Kara kinda ruined it....."Oh look! He's going to cry, that's so cute!"
I wanted to like Alex and Arianna, btw. I didn't like What JuNot did. I almost forgot to mention I do like Kristen McNamara.
Okay, I am guessing Kristen, Lil, and the third is a toss-up.....Jorge, Scott, Von?
-
I'm thinking Kendall, Scott, and Lil.
The judges seemed to be offering more constructive comments than usual tonight, in addition to the usual "we want to know you as an artist" and "poor song choice" feedback.
-
Danny, Danny, Danny. I think he has the best over all performance (singing, looks and package).
-
SPOILER ALERT!!
I cannot BELIEVE that they ae bringing that Drama Queen Tatiana back for the Wild Card!
But it will be pretty funny to watch tho....
Carol
-
I can't believe they brought Tatiana back either. Unlike you berry, I don't think it will be funny to watch, just painful. I am thinking it has been painful enough having to listen to Kara, now we have to deal with the Drama Queen too! Back to Kara, I think she likes to hear herself talk!
-
I think Kara was that annoying chick in High School who always thought that what she said was so very insightful and in reality it amounted to a hill of beans.
AI is frustrating me like crazy this year!
-
I think Kara is totally annoying also. She doesn't have good command of the English language and it's painful listening to her struggle to find the right words. I don't think she has added anything to the progam.
-
Tatiana Tatiana... oh my...... Well, tonight should be interesting. The first guy... the Ozmond looking boy... I was disappointed to see him come back. Okay... names are leaving me... the last guy.... nuk? I'm so glad they chose him. He should have made it first week. Hopefully he will now. Anyhow it's almost final 12 time!
-
I can't believe they brough Tatiana back - I think is annoying more than anything else. There are other ones on there that deserve to be there more than her - but that is just my opinion.
-
Yes it's almost the good time final 12.....I think they like the Drama of Tat-ville! SHE IS A DOOZY & THEN SOME! I think they have certain ppl in mind already for who they want in those 3 spots. They are picking them tonight RIGHT!
Tonight is just to see if they have chosen right & will bring it to the plate so to speak! I'm glad Noop is back also! Interesting Bunch to say the least! Almost 5 hours to go Eastern time!
-
I was going to be TICKED if they didn't bring back Noop, and I am really stunned they didn't give Kristen MacNamera another chance. She was good, even if she had no style. I have no style!
-
I am really disappointed in the judges bringing back Tatiana. I think the producers had a say in that. Maybe thinking she will bring in more viewers to watch her. Terrible choice. Many more were better than her.
As for Kara, my husband pointed out that when ever she talks she hits the table with her hands. This really irritates him. Watch and see if she continues to do it.
Another half hour before Wild Card show time! Tatiana better NOT make it into the final 12.
-
Ok, YEA no Tatiana! And we will have an extra week of American Idol this season. Guess I am feeling pretty good about the choices the judges made. Next week it will finally start.
-
I wasn't able to watch it last night, so who are the three wildcards?
-
The big news was that the Divine Miss Tatiana made the show go over time, and many (I do mean MANY) people who use their DVR's lost out on the huge announcement (myself included).
Here is an article:
Top 13 finalists chosen on 'American Idol'
By DERRIK J. LANG, AP Entertainment Writer Thu Mar 5, 6:46 PM PST
Thirteen turned out to be the lucky number for Anoop Desai on "American Idol."
After announcing the three remaining finalists at the end of Thursday's wild card round, Simon Cowell announced that the much-loved 22-year-old college student from Chapel Hill, N.C., won a previously unannounced 13th spot in the next round of the popular Fox singing contest. In past seasons, 12 finalists were picked to move on.
"We decided -- recently -- we're going to make this a top 13," Cowell revealed.
The three other wild-card finalists were Jasmine Murray, the big-voiced 16-year-old high school student from Starkville, Miss.; Megan Corkrey, the quirky 22-year-old single mother from Sandy, Utah; and Matt Giraud, the soulful 23-year-old dueling piano player from Kalamazoo, Mich.
The previously dismissed foursome were selected by the show's judges.
Desai's last-minute selection wasn't the night's only seemingly unscripted moment. After oh-so-emotional semifinalist Tatiana Del Toro performed Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love For You," she kneeled and pleaded for a spot from the judges. Then, host Ryan Seacrest came on stage and told her she didn't have to get up off her knees.
"Family show, family show," judge Kara DioGuardi repeatedly proclaimed throughout the awkward moment.
Desai, Murray, Corkrey and Giraud join previously picked finalists Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nunez, Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver. The 13 finalists will start competing next Tuesday -- with one singer sent packing each Wednesday.
-
As much as I liked the 4 they picked last night, I really liked Ricky and Jesse and thought they should've made it in. But I'm so glad Tatiana is GONE! (if they had kept her, that would've been the end of my AI watching!)
