LIFE'S A BEACH!

How long did he wait to catch you, Mum?
-
Ha Ha not long I think we dated for 16 months but I was so young.
-
Did your dates include bird watching/photographing?
-
No in those days we couldn't even afford a point and shoot camera. This is a new hobby he just took up within the last 6 years. The younger generation has taken over running our bussiness so we are semi retired now.He still oversee's the operation in Montreal though.
This shot you can actually see the insect in his mouth. a Green Viero
-
I think the photographs are spectacular!
-
Thanks Meece I hope I am not overdoing the bird posts. If I am just let me know you don't have to worry about hurting my feelings.Afterall this is a beach thread not a bird thread
-
Hey, you never know, they might be flying over the beach.
-
You can't post too many birds for me when the pictures are of such stellar quality. Audubon would envy them.
-
Stellar quality indeed.
Mum, I think that by consensus vote you might consider limiting your bird photos to 50 per day.
If there is any water showing what-so-ever the photo does not need to be counted in the 50 day total.
We are your husband's most adoring fanclub and the guarenteed purchasers of his first coffee table book.
Keep 'em coming, sweetie.
The more the merrier.
-
I personally feel that any photos with a vivid blue sky in the background will also qualify as an exemption for the 50 photo per day ruling.
The more blue sky I see (real or captured photographically) the better to my frame of mind.

I think this is a hint for your to post a pic of a stellar (Steller's) Jay, Mum? I am sure your DH must have one somewhere.
-
Are we allowed to put in requests?
I'd like to see Loon pictures.
I'm always a fan of the humming-bird, too.
-
I had a nightmare last night about a bird getting my fish. It was not a real avian variety. I have quite and imagination!
-
I think requests would be acceptable. But, pictures in response to a request could not be counted against the 50 pic a day limit either.
-
I saw some "little boy flowers" today
-
I for one absolutely enjoy the bird and flower pictures... they are amazing and a real reminder of how wonderful life outside my brain truly is! Some days (ok many days) it is part of my meditation or quiet time, just gazing at pictures taking in the details, and colors and movement and.and and.
-
Lisa, I laughed & laughed at your description of the "little boy flowers"
I love laughing!!!!
Speaking of smiles. I was able to upload another two minute video slice to YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPpPXefZZ8E
If anyone can train their cat to start the video every 2.5 minutes, it would help with the viewership numbers...... LOL.
BTW: "I do think you're wonderful!"
While I was searching in YouTube I found that others have posted videos of their child/children/classroom/school performing to my song. WHO KNEW????
I haven't found one yet that has given me credit. LOL.
This one is a 30 second, off the charts cute-o-meter. Hmmmmm. I should post it to the cutie thread. I can't figure out how to get ahold of his family, or leave a message???
They have labeled it Colin's song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuZvA-V3ZXs
It is sooooooooooo sweet!!!! (and no calories!!)
-
I will never think of an anthurium by it's real name again. Thanks for the chuckle, Lisa!
-
LISA hahahahahahahahaha
Boys look very healthy.
-
LOLOL

On a whole 'nother note:
There is a lovely little thread under 'fitness' called ELAB -- which stands for "Eat Like a Bird" and has been active for nearly a year. To make a long story short, we are currently 'recruiting' new birdies who wanna be held accountable for their own fitness goals: weight loss, veggie intake, exercise increase -- whatever the goal might be.
We have divided into 4 teams and are going to have a contest between now and Mar 8 (the thread's first anniversary.)
If there's anyone from the beach world looking for a second supportive thread -- now's the time!!!!
Today the moderators came on the thread at least 3 times, congratulating us on our little support system & talking about the direction BCO wants to turn with integration of health/proactive/wellness/weight loss/smoking cessation etc etc. We all flipped out to have the mods asking us if we were willing to be interviewed.
They were also asking us what we wanted from BCO when it comes to the above.
Please feel free to jump in as an ELAB full member -- or read along there for supportive ideas. We have official 'birdies' who are in every weight category. We do publicly post our weight and tomorrow is the first official weigh in of the New Year/New Contest. You are also welcome to read along or make suggestions.
Our Meecie is to be congratulated for getting us all organized!!
Here's to being ready for the real beach!!! With a toned new look.
-
Faithie, I was gonna be a goof and say "Me, Me, Me...I wanna be a part of that" Then you posted my name! (I could have been you "She-Shill" her at the beach!)
I am in dire need of toning and may be hitting a beach within the month. At this point I may need this swimsuit:
-
I'd love to be able to wear that cute suit!
-
My thighs are big enough that one of Tinyfishy's birds could perch on each. Gotta cover 'em up. I actually bought a swimsuit with the skirt bottom.
-
It's my humungous arm flab wings and the spare tire around the middle that I need to cover up!
-
Meece....I always wear bathing suits with skirts
Joni....hahahahahahahahahahaha
-
I have no solution for disguising "happy arms", I have them, too.
-
OK where is my tent
-
I don't believe that for one minute, Lisa!
-
I remember it wasn't that long ago, 7 years, that I would get cat-calls on the beach. (I am not vain, just wistfully remembering life before BC).
