This is the Colorado River as it winds its way through Utah

OK, you made me do it. This is my vacation @ the Grand Canyon, yet another
spectacular place in our wonderful country.
-
It is a great place isn't it
-
I was astounded. The pictures look fake but that is really what it is!
-
OK, I've just got chills just looking at all the beauty! AWESOME.... For a flatlander it's hard to believe all the majestic beauty of the hill formations. WOW.
-

You know I am thinking Sedona would be a perfect place for
a BCO getaway...grand canyon is close by...
-
I like that idea!! Sedona is kind pricey but Jerome is charming and way less expensive. Love that idea! I loved Jermoe. It is an old ghost town and it at about 5,000 feet up. Great views across the valley to the red rocks of Sedona.
-
that sounds fun Barbara...
I have never been there...this is from a jeep ride by Sedona
-
How did these guys get in our group??
-
Nice shots Lisa. Sign me up for a BCO getaway to any of those areas.
-
Wonderful pictures Lisa.
Stopped by the beach to tell everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Faith, I still haven't received any ribbons & stuff yet but am looking forward to working on it.
-
welcome back spar!! come back more often.. 3jays

This is from the porch of our B&B in Jerome looking across the Verde Valley to Sedona.
This is Jerome.
This is Jerome.
-
WOW BarbaraA-that's spectacular!
-
That is soooo pretty, barbara.
Hey, Eph are you enjoying your day Off?
-
no day off-I'm at my real job till 4& will be going to the 2nd job @ 5!
-
Which B&B Barbara? I was looking them up after our conversation on here yesterday. The first pic you did looks painted with all the dots of trees growing.
-
The Ghost City Inn . http://www.ghostcityinn.com/
The upstairs is haunted (we didn't know that or we would have stayed there). We stayed in the room an the far right downstairs. It had a small parlor. Loved it and the innkeepers were really nice. The husband is the sherrif.
This would be a BLAST of a BCO get together. It is so beautiful there. The view looked fake but it was real.
-
Oooooh I did look into that one. Wasn't it the Doctors house at first???? Prices didn't seem too bad either. I could drive......
I wanna go!! I wanna go!!
-
Wow. Now we're talking about all of my favorite places on earth. Before BC I had quite a few working opportunities in AZ and became fascinated with Sedona. I have been able to take 3 trips there solo and one trip with the hubby along...... where we also got to spend a day at the Grand Canyon & take a helicopter tour above.
My first solo adventure I went into Jerome on a very early Sunday morning & there wasn't anything open at that hour. The little place is perched up at the end of such a winding road, on the edge of the world -- literally. In my little cheapo rento I thought sure I would be blown off into a gully below.
On a later trip I reversed my adventure and spent the early part of the day in Sedona & Jerome on the way back into Phoenix. LOVED their galleries -- not nearly the expense of Sedona. Each place is beautiful -- but in it's own way.
Zion/Utah is just so much more "massive" than the feeling of Sedona (to me)..... Sedona feels more like sweeping vistas. Zion is all around in every direction. There does seem to be a section at Zion dedicated to shopping & the arts -- beyond t-shirt mentality.
At Sedona, hubby & I went on the pink four wheel drive tour -- up into some awesome areas. Sedona also is known for it's vortex and alternative health fascination/opportunities.
Click my heels and I'd be back at either/any.
Zion is only 3 hours from Vegas -- and I am returning to a conference there next summer. Now I'm motivated to see some of the other Utah highlights!! So I may get my Utah hostess to have me see some additional sites!!
I've got lots more pics, but can't get my laptop configured here at DD's without the SIL to walk me thru. LOL. Glad I can access everyone from their computer........

Barbe et al, o2bhealthy lives in Cottonwood and her DH manages condos in Sedona. Here's what she said:
Barbara - Ooooohhhh! Let me know if you guys do plan a meet nearby, I would love to visit with you in person
My DH is assistant manager of 3 Timeshares in Sedona, send me a PM with what time frame you are looking at, 2 of the three resorts have 2 bedroom condos that sleep 6-8, he might be able to swing a nice 'discount' for my friends from BCO
I have been trying to meet up with some local women in Phoenix but they are on the south side of Phoenix and until recently my Saturdays have been full of soccer games Who knows maybe after the holidays...
So maybe we could head to AZ in April (it is gorgeous then). Let me know and me and Barbe could be the coordinators (like how I 'volunteered' you?).

WOW WOW WOWOWOWZERS!!
The hubby and I actually stayed at a time-share in Sedona, as we have a bank of "points" that can be shifted here & there. We were able to stay in a brand-spanking-BRAND-new unit. It was a glorious one bedroom. I seriously think we were the first people to stay in it. Cuz there was a heating problem and I remember being shifted into a diff unit.
Would LOVE to go back with a group of BCO peeps.
The month of April is officially called "Month of the Young Child" and it is ALWAYS my busiest month of the year -- so I know that would be out for me. My Vegas trip is in July & wow would it be HOT out there at that point. Most of my adventures were in the fall and even January/AZ get aways. A coat was necessary, but Sedona was still glorious. The ever present blue skies.
Let's see if we can pull off a FL meet-up, maybe that would give us the giddy-up to try for bigger & better adventures.
Golly we've been talking about a beach rendez-vous for ages & here we're suddenly gnawing on vast desert stretches of red rock!!!! LOL
