Raj, it is Saturday here and I'm just staying inside because of the rain enjoying all the great pictures. The rain makes me want hot chocolate and a great book to read.
SoCal - thanks for your talent in posting the fabulous pictures!
Oh, and where do I go to get the fuzzy flips?
Raj, Enjoy your holiday.
-
Raj, she went to the University of Madras medical school...
Enjoy your sleep...

Samsue ! it is now 1.52 am (sunday midnight). We have no rain but weather is very chilly . My skin has become dry often due to winter. Hot chocolate and rain .. it is good combination. We used to have pop corn, pakora etc. during rainy days ( june,July).
-
Raj, every day I try to find my "Oh God!" moment. Sometimes it's a sunrise/sunset. Sometimes it's the way the rain makes a pattern on a window, or the way the trees catch the snow. Or when it's really dry, the pattern the cracks make in the dirt. So, it's a very simple moment and my artistic eye appreciates it. Someone else may see beauty in an animal or people, you know what I mean. I see beauty in patterns. So just the joy of one second a day can make my whole day....I pray you find your "Oh God" moments every day!

I am ready bring on the grandkids

Awwwww Lisa. What fun!! Your tree (and pressies) look really pretty.

Raj: i've been lost in a little "hole" of depression, myself. it definately could be the Arimeex.. i tried all, except tamoxifen.. they all ( cummatively ) sent me to a breakdown, and a short time in a mental ward.. luckily, my therapist knew my history with ant depressants ( i can't tolerate any) so, it was a short stay.. HOWEVER; that's not the norm.. my system is hypersensitive from long term MS.. get an prescription for an anti deppresant from the Dr. when you go.. or call them, let them know BEFORE your appt. they'll know if its' working when you see them, that way. there are many that you can take, even w/ tamoxifen, which is notorious for not mixing with antideppressants. someone help me here.... !! i think Effexor is the 1st choice.. you're dr. should know which one. but, you've the option of taking the ALs, and antidepressants. please, don't try to do without it, if you don't have to.. we want you here on the boards, and with as little suffering as possible.. we love you, gal.. your daughter, and her daughter are beautiful!! seems your genes are carrying thru 2 more generations. im sure they inherited your sweet disposition, also..i, for one, am so happy to call you "friend". hope you get caught up on your sleep! 3jays
-
Meece, it seems you'll be beside your DH. im glad. its so confusing that his family would be so close with his ex.. its not just hard on you, but also your DH.. the candle is lit here for you. i know you'll do fine, but i do worry about all the stress on you guys lately.. wondering, as i know you are, what will happenwith matt. i hope if he does decide to stay in the milatary, they transfer him to the states, at the least... you're all in my prayers.. i know the Lord is near you all right now..
-
Beautiful Lisa!!! So gay and merry, just like it's suppposed to be!
Raj, I am on two antidepressant medications just to help me get through the day. There is a chemical imbalance in my brain and with the hormones of cancer and the treatments of cancer, there are all sorts of chemicals screwing up our brains. Do not be afraid to ask for help. You (and the people around you that want to see you) deserve it!
-
Im doing well these days. Walking more and more. I dont have much balance but the soft sand should help if I fall... however here we have ice and snow so I walk very very very carefully.
I am considering participating in a phase II study with Fulvestrant and Zactima. Though the Zactima is given to half of the participants and the other half get a placebo. Am reading up and the the Fulvestrant appears to be worth getting on its own. I have until Jan 4 to make up my mind. Hubby is leery of the blind study.....

Wow. What a bunch of chatty beach-walkers today.
Samsue. I love someone doing a study that can link the idea of appreciating beauty (even thru photographs, as we are able to share here) as a boost to our perspectives. That's how I have always felt about our little thread-of-paradise here. I absolutely feel that boost. We have several who have cultivated their photography talents & when we enlist TinyFish into our thread, we truly have the grace of AWEsome glimpses.
I also adore the pictures that many are able to glean from the web at large.
Raj. We are all here for you in the fits-of-funk. I, too am all about better living thru chemistry (prescription pills) to help us keep our balance & grip.
I will tell you that I attempted to take Effexor, as prescribed by my onc and was never so sick in my life. I only took half of a very small dose & literally felt it's ill effects in my system for weeks. The day I took the pill my husband wanted to take me to the hospital, I was so impacted.
The prescription that seems to be my ideal benefit is Ativan. Prescribed more for anxiety than depression, but it provides just the boost I need when things get rough & threaten to fall apart.
Our FL home is in Ocala, north of Orlando.... but I have an invitation to speak at something called the Treasure Coast conference. Not exactly certain where it is to be held. Barbara when I finally have time to sort that out, I'll let you know. The date of the event is March 5th. I'd LOVE to meet.
That's the main benefit of getting to travel -- is getting to meet up with other buddies from here, coast to coast.
Meece, saying prayers for you.
Lisa, PM, wishing you strength.
So glad that folks feel they are at liberty to share their 'real life experience' of the day-to-day.
It's time for me to get my Utah pictures downloaded, for your AWEsome benefit.

Dream, thanks so much for sharing your need to make a decision about the blind trial.
Saint & I always used to talk about how we are all guinea pigs for the generations that will follow us. That always gave her some sense of "mission" to all of the various treatment trials.
Thank you for your willingness to consider the new treatment -- in an effort certainly to benefit your own story, but also as pure research to benefit the sisterhood-at-large.

This morning we were in a beautiful part of Utah. Just outside of Zion, but such as it was, we could not go into Zion. I took some pictures of a gorge we passed through, but they will not be able to portray the beauty that we actually saw. I can't wait to see your photos, Faith.
-
Meecie. As you well know. Photographs are so inept at capturing Zion's majesty -- in that you are surrounded by the beauty in a 360 degree panorama at all times. I'll go get some & send them thru Photobucket.
At least it will give a sneak peek.
Right back.
-
Oooh, i am sitting here witing. Won't go anywhere...well, at least away from the computer. Hard to stay pu tin a car traveling 75 mph.
-
LOL. We're only going 70 MPH at the current moment.
LOL.............

OK. Here's a few glimmers on the road between Cedar City and Zion National Park. My guides told me we were about 10,000 feet at this point. Yes. Snow!! Yes, the roads were open and fairly clear ---- so I was very fortunate to get to see this:
-
Those are wonderful photos, Faith...I love them
Utah National Parks are awesome...we have been to all of them I think...
Don't you just love the senior National Parks passes??
-
-
The cool thing about Zion is looking up most of the time...in Bryce,...looking down
-
the bad thing was I didn't have any good camera with me...I am so glad you did...
-
Now just imagine driving through this type of scenery -- surrounded on ALL sides. Anywhere you point your camera is something equally as breath-taking.
The only reason that these qualify on the beach thread, is that my local Utah guides explained that this had all once been underwater, covered by the ocean. So you can literally see the 'waves' in the stone -- as it was washed over the thousands of years.
-
it is a beach for the eyes, Faith
-
Absolutely awe inspiring, Faith.
This was our view as we motored through the canyon outside of Zion this morning.:
-
Yes. We were able to stop. Often. Posing the mountains & attempting to frame them:
We're just about home for the evening. This will be all the Utah for a while.
Tomorrow is final move-out day. The honeymooners/renters arrive 'home' from their cruise tomorrow. There are literally not enough hours between now & then. Not nearly enough.
I suppose we'll go over a couple more evenings, early next week to tidy up.
xx00xx00xx00xx
PS. I uploaded these thru Facebook, and then could just cut and paste them over here. That way I didn't have to go thru Photobucket. Glad I thought of that..... so now they are permanently in my FB album -- which is a good bonus!!
-
Wish I could lend you a hand in tidying up, Faith. If only you were closer! I find cleaning theraputic. When DH and I were in premarital counseling, the pastor asked each of us what we do when we are upset and we both answered "clean house". He told us he will be greatly worried if he comes to visit and the house is spotless.
-
I am in awe. I think we need to do a BCO get together in Zion. They give discounts for groups. WOW!
-
Abosutley amazing, fantastic, awesome. Worthy of every superlative ever uttered.
