LIFE'S A BEACH!

Jan - We rode the Dragon at Deals Gap. Then headed to Gatlinburg TN on to Cherokee NC. We were not far from you in VA. Yes I agree it is beautiful in that area. I am not a camper, after being on the bike all day .....get me a hotel room. Have you rode the Dragon before?
For those that don't know about the Dragon it is 11 miles long with 318 curves in the Smoky mountains near TN on US129. There is even a "tree of shame" that sports various broken motorcycle parts that have taken a spill along the Dragon. Several riders have lost their lives on this ride mostly from driving to fast or being reckless.
Sahalie - Freeze some of your grapes and you will have a nice cool treat for tomorrow.
JaZ - I noticed your picture of the pig on the treadmill - that's me. I bought a small one with my stimulus check. Mine has several programs to choose from. My fav is a 30 minute workout involving the incline. I still prefer walking outside and still do after work. Treadmill is just a little boost for me.
Shrink - Welcome and Congrats to our beach bride.
Faith - I tried to read back some but dial up taking forever to download. Did Scott make it home? Hope your back is doing better. Have you tired Naproxen otc? It may give you some relief without being drowsy.
Spar - Love your artful tables. I have been wanting to do something different with one of my tables. I may give your idea a try.
Lisa - I'd like to hop on one of those boats and escape for a few days.
1. Roof top - When my DH goes on the roof to hang Christmas lights - I hope he doesn't fall off.
2. Gritty - That's how I feel after being on the road all day on motorcycle. And yes Jaz maybe a few bugs in my teeth. teehee
3. Hot Town - Hell Michigan
4. Night - Love being in my own bed after a vacation.
5. Dance - slow dance with DH
Hi to the rest of the beach crowd hope all is well.
Wings
I will try and post some pictures later.

wish we could have a beachies girls night -- in person!!

Has it been 5 days or so since I've been on? I've been without my laptop because the battery died - didn't realize that it really won't work without a battery, and you can't just go to Circuit City and buy a new one. I have one now tho so just wanted to make sure everyone is well.

Wish Upon A Star

Wings. So great to see you. My Mom side is from the east coast and I love those Smokey's.
Faith. Glad your back is cooperating and I can feel your smile.
Foots. Loves and iced teas by the boat loads to you. I hope you are feeling good.
Margaret. Bummer on the battery. Glad you got it fixed.
Spar. I can picture you dancing with dh. I love that picture.
Jaz. Your answers to the Wednesday five are great. Especially about the fire flies.
As a child I did the same thing in my grandparents front yard on the east coast.
I would chase the fire flies while their little backsides lit up and try to catch them in a jar.
Never did. They are truly magic aren't they.
I remember those hot muggy nights. Little Nat's that would get in our eyes.
Lightning storms that scared me so much. The humidity. Oh that humidity.
I love those memories.
Janny. Welcome home. Your trip was so much fun to read about.
Lisa. I always love a boat. Boats are also magical.

ZZZZZZZZZZZ Sweetest dreams.

I had the sweet luxury of sleeping in a few extra minutes this morning.
I am a morning person. Early morning. I love the newness of the day.
All things possible. The quiet before the buzz of the day begins.
Faith. Have fun upstairs. Be careful K. We may be having a swim competition
and you are one of the front runners. Baby your back.
Jaz babes. Great song. We have green acres here cuz of assorted farm girls
plus the acres of ocean blues due to all our Beach Babes.
We are so lucky to have both.
Spar. Your ideas for today are superb. I love the library. Librarians. Books.
There is one book I hope to buy today to read and will let you know if it's any good.
We should share book fav's with each other. What do you think?
Tea and toast in the beach garden being served as we speak.
FootsDeb. I hope your day today is beachie keen and a feel good day in every way.
Fresh lemon for your iced tea today Foots.
To all our Beach Babes. Hello. I wish all good things. And hope Mother Nature
gets it all under control.
*
Tea and Toast for a morning pick me up.
*
I'm supposed to go with my girl friends today to see "The Dark Knight"
We are hoping by going on a Thursday. Mid-day. We will be able to see it
minus a zillion teens.
We shall see how it goes. If the line is long. We are outa there.
We are patient.

Beach Book Review.
This is a GOOD one. You will enjoy to the inth degree.

Description
The landlocked mermaid is a symbol of the contemporary woman, trapped in a paradoxical dilemma of being part worldly and domesticated, part untamable and intuitive. In A Survival Guide for Landlocked Mermaids, artist Margot Datz sees the she-nymph within, struggling to emerge, and in a swirl of whimsical and witty wisdom.
Datz's beautifully painted, contemporary mermaids are caught in the nets of their own comical dilemmas, circling the heart's fishbowl of romantic longings and in the murky depths of deep emotion.
Whether it's the value of cultivating an inner water garden or coping with crow's feet
and fish tails, Datz offers advice and an enchanting way of hydrating your weary mermaid soul.
Coy, sweetly mischievous, this is a book that,
like a good glass of wine, can be enjoyed multiple times, sipped on,
or downed in one reading.
I hope you will pick it up and enjoy it sister Mermaids.

A happy pop thru to let you know that I have been upstairs in my studio and playing with fabric for a couple of hours. I think I may have had the break-thru that's eluded me for months. It's so exciting to return to this project -- even at such a slow speed.
Felt the need to come down for that tea and toast -- with fresh squeezed lemon.
I get such a sense of support from our beach keeners. Thank you.
****Oh and my DH got my blog connected directly to my website!!! That's a major step forward on the professional/technological front.
huggies and no buggies to each and every!!
let's kick up our collective heels in recognition of the blessings we share together:
-
I am kicking up my heels. Have so many blessings for which there is so much thankfulness
Sahalie, I will eventually pick up the mermaid book, right now I have about 6 to read before I get more.

Good afternoon Beach Angels. Well, another workday done and tomorrow is Friday. Its so very hot here that its just miserable to be outside for long. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
I hope everyone had a fantabulous day. Well, going to run and get some household chores started. See ya on the other side.
-
Wings, yes we have heard of the Dragon's Tail. Hubby wants to ride that someday. Sorry I haven't checked in. Work has been from hell this week. I am so jealous that you got to ride the Dragon!!! We only got as far south as Otter Creek, on the Parkway, and then on to Natural Bridge. We were camped too far north. We have the motorhome, so we don't need the motel room. We have the bathroom in the camper, lol! That is the most important thing.
We just loved VA. For those that live there, you are very lucky.
I haven't checked in here for days, so I have no idea what is going on. I just want to say hello to all my beach bum buddies!
-
Jaz does that iced tea ever look tasty and thirst quenching.
Faith. LOVE the socks. So cheery. Shoes are fun too.
Spar. Ditto on the Babeeze in diapers. So cute.
We saw "The Dark Knight" today. Christian Bale is so delicious I can hardly stand it.
The movie didn't disappoint and must be seen on the large screen.
Maggie Gyllenhaal replaced Katie Holmes thank goodness as the female lead.
Maggie G. is skies above Holmes as an actor.
Poor Heath. Left this world too soon. He did a great job as the joker.
But it's Batman himself Christian Bale that runs the show.
*
Time to make dinner but wanted to let you know how it was and say Hi to all.
I'm retiring to my beach house and make some of that iced tea.
XOXO.
Sahalie

Since I am feeling kind of down, here is a little alcoholic drinks to make me feel better

LOL! Is that your wine cellar??
-
only in my mind when I need it. I am headed to the beach to brood and watch the waves in the rain.

Dear Beach Friends, I found out I will be losing my medical the end of this month. And will get 10 dollars in food a month on disability. I was not too happy when I told the lady I knew people that are working and getting full help. I still haven't got my full lymphedema suit and it was oked. The lady that measured me told me they never payed her last year, I called them up and was she told me I can get it and guess what! I get so tired of fighting for help. I know it will be hard but I can do it. I got the wheelchair (no front ramp or car holder) But I can make it. I have to be like my friends and stay strong. I love my fruits and tea, Lets go have a hug party, To make the day end on a happy note. Take care, Angel Hugs Debbie ( Life is good, But with friends its great)

Everyone here is so caring, Thanks, Take care, Debbie
