Hi Deb,Today was a good day, as I've been quite caught up helping a little with the local campaign. I thought of you, and wonder if you're going to vote early, to avoid the crowd on November 4. I am voting tomorrow, as with my pins and needles feet, I hope not to wait in a long line. The colors are really coming out now on the trees. Always such a pretty site. Did you ever collect the best leaves, and place them in wax paper, and then use the iron on low on them as a kid, Deb? It's a great way to have a few kept for decoration, and fun for the kids.Thinking of you much,Tender
-
slonedeb. how are you doing today? i'm hoping that the pain meds are keeping you in a tolerable place -- where you're able to appreciate the day, for what it has to offer.
i had so much fun singing with the little ones today.
they jump up and down and say: "It's a Debbie-Day, a Debbie-Day!!" When I walk in the door. How's that for a greeting?
tomorrow, i have the recording studio reserved -- so that's gonna be something to look forward to.
i'm praying that your angels are continuing to work over-time.
know that we are all here praying for you.
sleep easily.
see ya tomorrow............

Dear Slonedeb,
I have read some of the recent posts and I agree with you that Faith has such encouraging words and strong faith in God. I am sorry you have a fractured shoulder at this time. You really need to take care of yourself and ask dh for all the help you need. I am surprised you have not quit smoking, on the othe hand I wish I still did. The day I went into the hospital my dh made me quit. I came out of the hospital and did not smoke, until yesterday. I had a really bad day and stopped and purchased a pack of cigarets. I proceded to smoke one and butted it out after half of it. I guess i have quit. It did not taste give me the satisfaction as before.
I have to say that you are one of the strongest persons I have the pleasure of meeting. I know you are dealing with a tremendous amount of pain and I have the greatest respect for you. God is looking out for you and you are in his hands. Know that all of the Slone Rangers are there for you, in thoughts and prayers.
Keep the faith and know that you are loved and thought of every morning, noon and night.
Cheryl

Kentucky Queen Deb, I received this prayer today, with instructions to pass it on to special women:
May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, healthy spirits, happiness, joy, true and undying love for God.
Amen
PS: God, please help Deb from Kentucky (you know the one!!) do what she needs to!!!

slonedeb, our Kentucky queen.
it is so very humbling to read your last post.......... i am such a whimp, such a baby, such a spoiled brat -- when i consider all that you are fighting through.
i'm so grateful that your onc is being so communicative -- asking for your input, offering you the choices and decisions. that seems like progress and indeed is an answer to the prayers of so many here, on your behalf.
i rejoice to think of your dear husband taking care of you, in all of the details, as your body is no longer up to some of the menial tasks. i'll pray more specifically for his strength in the face of all of this. what a treasure.
hmmmmmm. now as to the smoking. what can i say that you haven't already heard or considered? in the same way that you hope your son can walk away from things that give him pleasure, but are no good for him -- i wish the same for you.
i'm bundled up for my 'new' morning walk with my neighbor gal.it's doing me a world of good on so many levels: to set the alarm clock, to get the exercise, but most importantly to visit with someone regularly about the ups & downs that our days bring
prayers for you.
i LOVE your sentiment: "ride out your storms." as stephanie says: "God is able" i'm going to remember that sign off of yours as well.
how much we learn from each other. how fortunate for me, to have met you in chat, and now to be able to follow your journey.
find pleasures in your day..... that is my prayer for you.
how about a bowl of steaming soup?

Dear Deb,Your spunk, your grit, your verve shows through, Deb. It's a pleasure to come and read your post which show how much your living and moving on inspite of physical disabilities. How thankful I am to your DH for his faithful help to you, and your dear granddaughter for looking out for your well being. Who knows, Deb, maybe someday she'll be exploring the science of breast cancer, or working with cancer patients at a clinic. Many times our childhood memories shape our self evaluation and drive in life. It did for me with a chronically sick younger sibling."well prayer sister take cae always ride out your storms remember i love you all deb from ky"What words of wisdom. We love you too, and I'll always remember to draw on your strength and grit when riding out a personal storm.
-
slonedeb. tender's said it so well for all of us.
i'm saying prayers for you always.
i can't wait to hear what happens with your baptism...... i'm glad that you have that event to look forward to.
we had a BIG day @ the recording studio -- but got MUCH work done on this big project.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx00xx00xx

-
slonedeb..... i've been thinking about you through out my busy day...... wondering how you're holding up. wondering if your pain meds are being effective. wondering if you've been able to find some pleasure -- in a conversation, a magazine, a TV show, a memory
much love for a peaceful night

-
I was just coming here, so perhaps tonight I may help tuck you in, Deb.You need a nice warm blanket fully covering your toes if your fever stays down and lots of tissues at your bedside, might that coughing turn around. Cool water to drink when your throat is dry, and cooling washcloths to your forehead if your fever runs high. Music gently playing to help lull you to sleep, window darkness to let your body relax and keep, and lots of prayers said in whispers upon the open air, circulating gently ever so closely as you fall asleep from here to there.Tender
-
Deb, I'm praying that the coughing will lessen and you will be able to rest peacefully. You're in my prayers every night. Try to stay cozy and let your loved ones care for you.
