SLH--David A is the child prodigy! (looks much younger than 17)
I cannot believe that Michael went home--it should've been Syesha--he was one of the best of the whole group. I'll always remember his rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody", it was awesome. I hope he gets a record deal and does really well.
-
Aw, crap. I peeked-We've been out of town this weekend and haven't seen the results yet.
Hottie Aussie went home?!?!? No way!!!!!
So sad, so very sad....... -
There are studio recordings of each Idol contestant's songs available on ITunes. These are the full length version of their songs. We've downloaded numerous songs to our IPods.............I told DH that he HAS to download some Michael John songs so he can get the royalties.

ITS IDOL NIGHT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had foot surgery last Friday, and I have to sit around and do nothing...Not so easy to do...So I'm sitting here 7 hours early for IDOl hoping it is a great
show tonight...Can you tell I'm bored out of my mind.....AHHHHHHHHHHH!
Gosh I sure hope Jason changes it up tonight, I really like that kid. Looking
forward to David Cook too, lets hope he has a good week too. Talk to you all
after the show...Love this thread..Take care KLynn
-
To Funny KLynn! Waiting 7 hours early for American Idol to start!! Sorry about the foot and hope it heals quickly.........................check back in after the show............I think both of the Daves and Jason will do good........the girls confuse me every week....!

There was an article in the paper about Jason. I read it and meant to pass it on, but you know...the brain continues to fail.
So Jason was in a band as a drummer, and a couple years ago taught himself to play the guitar. He wasn't the lead singer!
I thought Simon's comment about the "Over the Rainbow" song was nuts! He said "First time, I heard that version I wasn't sure; second time, loved it; third time, fantastic."
The first time I heard it, I cried. It is a completely beautiful song.
sally
-
KLynn,
Hope the foot is healing! Did you have bunion surgery? Just curious-I'm long overdue for that kind of surgery and am dreading it.
Sally, I love that version of the song, too. He did a great job, I thought.
Can't wait to watch! -
Well, I just have to say that I spent almost 2 hours trying to vote for David Cook. I only got through about 15 times total. I hope that means that everyone else was voting and not that his number was blocked. I have always suspected something like that. I guess we will see tomorrow.
Dawn
-
The boys have it! All three were terrific!
The girls...so-so for me. But all four are quite beautiful.
-
Archuleta: did okay, not doing anything for me lately.
Castro: did his thing; he's relaxed, confident, and I would buy his CD as he is so nice to listen too. He so relaxes me.
Kristy Lee: OMG; she had me in tears as I think she did great; I think I found my wedding song; and I don't care what the judges say, she was good, beautiful and can sing;
Mercado: here's a surprise... choose an unknown song by Mariah... OMG she blew me away... she was right on point! LOVED IT... the only thing I still have a problem with is that her voice is not different from what's out there... I want different; other than that, she can sing, and yes, please sing something not overly known, go for the big artists but their less known songs, she looks beautiful, I want to see her being the next Halley Berry;
Carly: oh Carly... I totally agree w/ Simon, she did not deliver it at all, what a disappointment; on the lower keys she did very well but when it was time to "belt"... she fell short!!!!!!!!!!!!! How's about doing some unknown stuff by Ann Wilson - Heart?!?!?!
Brooke: did her thing... it is in my opinion that she can sing the higher notes but for whatever reason she is stuck on the Carly Simon style... she is truly beautiful but has to shut up after each review is given... okay?!
David Cook: well I left him as last on my review for the following reasons: my morning started by some stupid radio talk show stating that his brother, who is dying from brain cancer, was going to be in the show, and how could we vote him off now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? Right there and than I was mad.
When I saw his performance, and the camera going towards his brother I could not stop myself from sobbing; first I very much liked his version of Mariah's song, she rocked it, he was the bomb and second, to see his brother seating there, all frail from probably chemo and radiation, and for me to live w/ a man that lost his wife to a brain cancer right after she had BC... really put the nail in my coffin!!!!!!!
How could that stupid talk show host make a comment like that???? She must have not had any C in her or closed family/friends.
Only us that have had it, can truly appreciate the value of someone fighting for their lives; only the ones that unconditionally support those who fight the C word know what is to give it all and sometimes loose it all....
Seeing Cook's crying just validated his love for his brother, validated my love for anyone that has to deal w/ such devastating news, and has to fight the fight of their lives, brought back all the friends that I have lost here, out there, all the people that are fighting this terrible disease day in and day out and the fact that I can't do a thing to help them. This one really hit home..."C" SUCKS!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVAs2zmb0ig
Who is going home: either Carly or Brooke... than again...
-
Good show last night! I kinda think in the end it will be between the 2 Davids.
I knew nothing about David Cooks brother until this morning...........I did see the teary eyes last night..but somehow did not know his brother was in the audience. Congrats to him (brother) and his community for making this happen.........!!

Hi Everyone,
Hey Deb(Whoops)thanks for the healing thoughts..No it wasn't a bunion, Doc isn't really sure what it was (I'm always difficult). I had something on the back of my heal, it looked like a blister, it was skin colored and would kind of fill, then drain, because it was right where my jeans would rub, or shoes would rub. I don't know if I had gotten something in it, and then it healed around it, but I tried many different things to get rid of it on my own.Trying to not do the surgery thing. I have had it for about a year and a half. I was going through chemo for my recur and just didn't want to do surgery with my counts being so low, and worried about infection. Now that I have a break I thought I would get it taken care of....Really dumb idea....I'm having a really hard time with the crutches, they really hurt my rib area, my bones always hurt, so this isn't very comfortable, and he said it will take about 3 weeks..I have a wedding on the 25th, I was hoping to go to. I thought he would scrape the darn thing off and that would be it, he sent it out to the path. so I guess we'll see what they say.. Okay off the heal thing and on to IDOL....
I also think the guys did better than the ladies, but the judges did say it would be easier for them. David Cook again very original. David A just as smooth as ever, and Jason...just so sweet and a nice version of the song.
Brooke, I think did a great job, but I agree she really needs to keep quiet when the judges talk. I don't think she can do it... It really has become very annoying and disrespectful. Carly was a bit of a disappointment, why does she hold back so much??? Belt it out girl...Syesha, I think sounded great too, but like NBN said she's too much like whats out there. Then theres Kristy...Who looked fantastic and sounded great, her voice actually was very beautiful, but I wasn't crazy about the country twist to the song...I still can't get past the week that she did that really corny song..
So I think it will be Syesha going home tonight, its getting much harder now to choose but someone has to go each week. She'll be on a sitcom next season.... Talk to you all after the show..Hugs KLynn (just call me HOBBLE) -
Okay, rereading what I wrote...It will be either Syesha, or Carly...Wow need to lower the pain meds...Heehehehe T/C xoxoxo KLynn
-
Karen - aka hobble - hope you feel better with each passing day - good luck with the path. keep us posted. Thanks for your concern for my DH, as well.
I think Carly, Syesha & Brook will be in the bottom 3 and Carly will go. I didn't think she sounded good at all last night.
I tried voting for David Cook but got busy signals then a weird recording that had nothing to do with Idol - WTH???
Back to work,
Valerie
-
I'm not quite done watching my DVR of last night, but my question is this: why on earth would they have the contestants sing Mariah, when they CONSTANTLY diss when someone picks Mariah or Whitney?!?!?!
Give me a break! That was like Randy's lame comment to hottie Aussie about "this is a singing competition, not a competition about dreams...." or whatever he said last week. Anyone catch that?!?!
I thought they had NO CHOICE but to choose "dreamy/inspirational songs!!!"I'm growing tired of AI with some of these things.....
-
Don't know ladies, but I was a little disappointed about last night's show.
Mariah's songs didn't do much for me. I also noticed how she was kinda stand-offish? She didn't really give a warm welcome hug to the contestants. "I'm here, you're there" attitude.
Paula's favorite word last night was "smart". My hubby said, "was there a quiz before the show?" hehe
Brooke - was bad, and she sped up the song again!
Simon seemed to always like the originality of Jason and David Cook, rather than copycat performances. I think that's why he always criticized the diva-like renditions of Syesha and Carly.
Syesha, Brooke and Carly will be in the bottom 3?
We'll find out!

David Cook was amazing again last night ... he's really unique - I also didn't realize his brother was in the audience ... NbN I'd have been furious listening to that crap on the radio station too... that would have made me sooo angry that I probably would have called the station (or emailed) to complain. WTH is wrong with that woman.
David A - I was bored with his performance ... but he did sing the song well.
Jason - he was strong again last night - I really like him
Syesha - she can sing well - but I agree - she's not different enough from what's out there right now ... good things will happen for her after Idol - I suspect she'll get a movie offer or broadway offers ...
Brooke - I am not a fan ... and continue to get that re-inforced every week
Carly - what the heck was that last night ?? She has a teriffic voice - but is making bad choices on the songs and how to sing them.
I think the bottom 3 will be all girls this week and I'd really like to see Brooke be the one to go home.

Have you guys ever peeked on votefortheworst.com? I know they have been around a few seasons (Sanjaya was one of the poor souls, and that cute little red-headed kid John-someone or other). Kristy Lee is the current victim.
Ever google Carly Smithson? She was Carly Hennessy before this, and had a 2.2 million dollar contract. She had even been given 100,000 advance pay, as well as living expenses. Her album sold less than 400 copies.
I think Idol is "jumping the shark," if you are familiar with that term! The charm of the show was how they found "nobody" and turned them into stars.
I like these kids, but they all seem to have a "past," already. Except, perhaps Nanny Brooke. I don't know if she has done anything before?Edit to add: YES SHE DID!!!! Songs from the Attic is on Amazon for $75-$1000 a piece!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am currently addicted to a Washington Post blog by De Moraes on tv. I think you can find it that way if you google it. She is hilarious, and really gives pretty accurate descriptors to the now wackiness of the show.
-
Deb, I looked up votefortheworst.com and this is what I found. They're a kind of "Down with the World" group. Too negative for me.
-
OMG, SLH....I was going to try to post that picture-I found that one too. I laughed for a bit, but then thought, "Wait, I like him!"
Yes, they are very VERY negative. I was just pointing out that Kristy Lee is the victim-poor kid.
-
Jason may not be the best singer, or guitarist, but he always makes me smile when he sings. He has such a handsome, kind face.
-
I LOVE his face. Simon was so right when he said something to the extent of "if I heard that song on the radio, I would have turned it off, but seeing you perform it is what sold it for me."
He has the sweetest expressions.I finally watched David Cook. He has officially won me over........wow.......
-
What a show tonight--was worried for David Archeletta for a second-but he's too good -dont believe hes going anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Simon was right on the money AGAIN! I swear he has a crystal ball under that table. I knew the minute I saw the two groups tonight, that something was not right. Ryan is such a ....fooler.
-
I think they sent the right one home.
Mariah looked fantastic. The best she's looked in years!
And Elliot was good. Very touching when he said it was the first performance that his mom had missed. They had a special bond.
sally
-
Bom dia:
Okay, I guessed wrong... still believe that they picked the wrong person to go home...
Ryan and the AI people must think that we are all stupid by the way they make it "so dramatic"... please... it's quite obvious who is going to last and who is always on the chopping board!
And again, trying to put David on the spot b/c of his brother being on the show and the fact that he has cancer... Oh, come on... they don't need the ratings that bad... or do they?!?! David handled the stupid question/comment w/ a lot of class... yeah, mind your own business bozo!!!!!!!!!! (And no, I am not in a bad mood... LOL)
I cracked myself up because of the lyrics of the song Kristy Lee sang... I guess I only heard the good part and not the part that the song is about breaking up and missing someone... LOL
See you in a couple of weeks...
-
I knew when Ryan started putting them into the group on the left and the group on the right that he was going to ask the last person to go join the group that was safe (he's done that too many times ...) David A was sooo cute... I also knew that the groups were missed up ... that someone was out of place ... geeze they really tortured all of the idols last night and made them all suffer right 'til the end ...
what the heck was that thing that Paula had around her neck ??? she wears some strange things!
David Cook is at the top of my list!!
Doreen
-
My husband won't watch it with me anymore because of all the mean-spirited stuff. Ryan used to be better, and sometimes shielded the contestants from the judges criticism. But now he seems to relish making them uncomfortable.
-
Oh, I agree....I think the show is getting so off-track nowadays from what it used to be all about.
It used to be all about giving a "regular" person a big break. Now it is a crazy side show, what with whack-a-doodle Paula, and all the bizarre antics of the judges.
Poor contestants. I feel for them when they have to stand there foolishly and listen to that. -
yeah I thought it appeared to be getting mean-spirited, especially the anamosity(?) between Ryan and Simon., and now it seems like the judges and ryan all go after each other one way or another-that I dont like.
