My dear, dear sisters.....there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of each and every one of you!! I love that feeling!
Karen, Honey I am sooo sorry to hear that your dad is not doing well. Be strong and know that we are all here for you, and our prayers are with you and your family. I lost my mom...and it was so very difficult to deal with...but I looked to the Lord for my strenght..and he provided...he will do the same for you. Love you Karen!! Bye the way...Love your new avatar...my your hair looks great! You and Chase...absolutely Adorable!!
Ulla...waiting is tough....I feel for you honey...but I feel deep inside that all of your results are going to be positive!! Love you Ulla!
Mel...so good to see you again. Now...to actually SEE you! We have to make our DATE!! Love you Mel.
Jane...you are so tender...and loving...I too love your posts and your compassionate words to everyone!
Well..not sure that I am in LOVE...but it's feeling really really good...sometimes I have to catch myself from saying the L word. The other night when Dennis came in...his flight was 3 hours delayed...well I was 3 hours delayed at work..so I worked until 10:30pm..and I was going to go home..since I had been here 13 hrs......his flight was landing one hour later...so when I got to my car...I figured...what's another hour?? So i reclined my seat, turned on a cd..and parked my car directly in front of his car. When he landed, I sent him a text saying...."welcome home"...he called me and said...are you on the premises...and I lied and said 'NO"...he said good, not that he didn't want to see me...but he knew I was tired and needed sleep. So..when he came out to his car..he was putting his luggage in..and didn't notice my car..I flashed my headlights..and he was pleasantly surprised!! I didn't get home until after 12:30am....since we had to make up for days worth of kisses and hugs!! He makes me feel so wonderful! We are going out to eat after I get off work tonight and spending most of the day and evening together tomorrow. I am really enjoying this...we will see where it goes!
I am in such pain today...my 3rd bad period in less than a month...back is breaking, cramps..etc. I see the surgeon on Wed...so I am going to tell him to get me on his surgery schedule...ASAP!! Take out what I don't need...so I feel better!!
Good news...Olivia got a call back for the Ohio Lottery commercial. She goes for her 2nd audition on Monday!! Say a prayer that it goes well..and they hire her for the commercial!
I better get back to work. Love to all of my wonderful girlfriends here....I still wish we could somehow all get together...and have one big SLUMBER PARTY...FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!!
XOXO
LISA

Oh Mel, you are so good with the beautiful pix! It is so nice to see them.
Karen, honey, I am so sorry. I have done this too, the waiting and watching, but his troubles will be over soon and he will be in the arms of the Lord.
Sue, you minx, did you bat your eyelashes at the millionaire????? I hope you are feeling a little better, I was amazed when I read in that book that the woman felt like her long leg bones were being pulled apart, sounded like your pain. She is 3 years out now, and fine. Hang on sweetie, you will feel better soon.
Oh Fumi, Jule, and Lisa, so much fun! ahhhh, memories of those days. So sweet to fall in love.
Judie, I haven't had the courage to try the pie, it sounds so yummy, I will get off my butt and get the ingredients.
Ulla, love, I wish you were here. Not that our docs/oncs are any nicer. Some are, but some are buttheads. Not fair, people who deal with cancer patients should take a course in kindness, just a pat on the shoulder, a smile, a little encouragement. It means so much, I used to get scared, like Sue, at every little thing just after treatment ended. My onc was so sweet, he didnt do a single thing, looked at my breast, felt my neck, and said, "Oh, you are just fine, stop worrying". And I believed him. It meant so much and kindness costs nothing. Oh well, just come here.
Wren, once you get to a certain point, you heal fast. Hopefully, that day is near.
Oh Sue, it is so much fun, what in the heck is "tipple"? I know, I know, it is your favorite drink. Well, I am a sorta tee-totaler. Ahem, never could afford anything at first, married at 18, baby at 18, Walt still in college, I had to quit college and go to work to support us, I worked until 2 weeks before my baby boy came. We had no car for 4 years and no TV, either. Poor, we were so poor.
But once, in 1976, I ordered a Singapore Sling, because I loved the name, it was funny tasting, like paint thinner. hahahaha
AE, when you get home, you lucky girl, kiss UB and come tell us alla bout Pinkstock.
Hugs and kisses to all you wonderful sisters, and to Kaloni, Sheila and anyone I missed,
Shirlann

Melody - I love the beutiful, soothing pictures. You have such a talent for choosing just the right ones. Thank you sooo much.
((((((Karen))))), my heart goes out to you. I pray that they can make your father comfortable and that he is aware of his loving family around him until he goes. He will then be at peace. I hope you are being supported by your friends. At a time like this it is hard to cook, eat, sleep or find any respite.
Lisa - you are in my thoughts too. Those rotten periods - a bad one makes you feel so debilitated and all that pain - I am so sorry you are going through this. Yet I am so happy that you have this sweet man in your life. May you grow closer and closer in a deeply loving relationship.
Love to each one of my dear sisters - you know who you are!

Hello all,
Can you believe it's August? How quickly time flies by!
The pain in my butt and the rashes in my arm are getting better. I really do hope both of them, especially the pain goes away real soon as I haven't worked out for nearly two weeks now. I bet I've gaind some pounds back. I still do need to lose more weight before I meet my Mr.McDreamy because I have to wear a bathing suit in front of him when we go on a getaway and visit the spa. I also need to go to the hair salon. My hair is such a big mess right now but I don't know if I should get my hair cut shorter (it's a bit shorter than shoulder length) as the heat here is killing me, or keep it on the long side as it's winter time in NZ. Things between us are going well although I'm NOWHERE near where Lisa and Jule are. To him, I'm just one of girl friends of his among many others. It's sad but I can't make him fall in love with me. *sigh*
Shirl - I'm starting to miss seeing your face. I do love your cat but seeing your face always brought a smile to my face. Get some new pix and change your avatar!
Ulla - thinking of you sweetie. Here's some chocolate and a beary hug for you. Fingers and toes crossed for the good results.
Sheila - I hope you are having a lovely weekend with your DH. Sorry about his car.Jane - Yep I did tell him about how I was almost sending him my knickers in the mail, then he asked me if they were washed. *lol*
Judie - Glad you are feeling better. Did you say Banoffi pie? Boy, how much I miss that yummy thing! My best friend Kelli made it for me when I visited her and I loved it!
Karen - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts are with you honey, hang in there.
Nancy - Hope you are having a fun filled weekend.
Melody - You sweet girl. Reading your post always brings so much comfort and fun.Jule - Hi dear. Wow so are you driving 5 hours every weekend? I sure hope things work out for you and that he can move closer to you.
Sue - My favourite is an apple martini. I could drink it all day. But I wouldn't mind other vodka-based cocktails. Hope you feel a lot better soon.
Anne - I hope bears are all gone now and that you stay safe and sound!Lisa - Of course you are in love. I can't believe you didn't know that! Hope you are having a terrific time with him and that your pain goes away soon.
OK gotta go now. I hope everyone is doing well. Lov ya all!

I will try this again. Geez , I don't know why I am having a hard time posting.
Hello Ladies and UB! Fumi , I loved your pics. Hey , remember , starting out as friends is the best way to enter a relationship. And remember , Lisa and Jule are already "seeing' their McDreamys' in person. That does make a difference. I think you are in a great place with him. You two share so much. Much more than some couples who are living together for years! And you still have the "lovey butterflies" of thinking of the first hug , kiss , gazes ,... And always remember , whats ment to be , will be. And who could not love you!?! And hey , once you get there , and he scratches his butt and farts , you may run!lol Just kidding. Just concintrate on you right now. Hope you are feeling better everyday. I hope all your dreams come true Fumi. You SO OOOOO deserve it.
Hi Kaloni! Love your pic too. I also love art , including the "weird" stuff. Please post more of the art you love. Hope you are having a great weekend.
I like this.
Everyone , I lit a candle for Karen's dad and Karen and her mom. I post it under BCO-K. If anyone wants to light one. Love you Karen.xxxx
Hi Sue
! Aww , I was hoping we could talk tonight. But it is quite late across the pond. Sweet dreams. Sleep tight.xxxx Mel

Oh Fumi, men, everyone of them, loves LONG hair. Don't get it cut too short. I learned that from Walt. AND they don't like the real skinny model like figures, either. I told him, who cares? We all dress for each other anyway! hahahaha
Hugs, shirlann
-
Awww, Mel. I'm going to cry...thank you so much for lighting a candle for us. You are just the sweetest person! Love you Mel!
Thanks to you all again for your support and prayers. I think our prayers may have been answered, because my dad was much better today. It turns out that they had given him a medication yesterday that he had a bad reaction to. It really makes me mad, because his chart is supposed to be flagged so that he's not given certain meds. Haldol is one of them. He hallucinates and acts all crazy on the stuff--we found that out after it was given to him eight years ago following his open heart surgery.
Anyway, he's been taken out of the ICU and he's in a regular room now. He still can't walk and they still have to wean him off of one medication, but it looks like he may be able to go home or to rehab in four or five days. God willing--we may have him around for at least a few more months. I'd really love for him to see our new house when it's done. It would mean so much to him to see our dream become a reality.
Love to everyone--Sue, Lisa, Shirlann, Fumi, Jane, Judie, Jule, Nancy, Anne, Kaloni, Ulla, AE and UB (hope Val is having a GREAT time at Pinkstock), Wren, Sheila, and everyone who comes here on occasion that I may be forgetting. You are all so special to me. Thank you so much for being here for me during this difficult time.

Internet Explorer Warning visiting this web site may harm your computer!
-
Most likely causes: - The website contains exploits that can launch a malicious code on your computer
- Suspicious network activity detected
- There might be an active spyware running on your computer
What you can try: Activate Antivirus 2009 for secure Internet surfing (Recommended). Check your computer for viruses and malware. More information this is wat i get when i try to sign in..wat should i do ??
-
First, do not click on any of the links in this message.
Disconnect from the internet and do a virus/spyware scan on your computer. This assumes you have an antivirus program that is up-to-date. Follow any instructions it gives you if it finds anything.
It looks like spyware that is trying to sell a product that is probably harmful itself.
-
Ulla, you have contracted the Antivirus 2009 malware, which is malicious and hard to get rid of without help. This website is reliable and safe, as is the software they tell you to download.
To temoprarily get rid of the pop-ups and make getting to the website easier, open task manager. (right click on the taskbar at the bottom and select task manager). If there is a process called av2009, kill that process. Then go to-
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/uninstall-antivirus-2009
Good luck!
PS: Ulla, you should edit your message and delete all the links. They will infect anyone here who might click on them.

OK AE , I'll give you sometime with UB , then you have to tell us all about pinkstock. I went to that thread , and cried and had goosebumps at the sight of the rainbow. I do believe it was our angel sisters.xxxx

Hello my precious sisters,
I'm at work right now. Am supposed to be visiting my customers but the heat makes me want to stay in the office. The sun is rather burning than shining. The pain in my butt is almost gone now and walking is getting much easier. Hopefully it'll be completely gone before my summer break wich is from 13rd to 17th. I can hardly wait for it to come!
Mel - You are such a sweetheart. Yeah you are right, talking over the internet and meeting in person are totally different two things. I hope I don't disappoint him when he sees me in person.
Oh by the way, what is BCO-K? Can you let me know where can I light a candle for our Karen?
Kaloni - I too love art and doing creative stuff. I work as a sales rep but do some graphic design as well. The above picture is what I did for my best friend Kelli's sister Samantha when she got married. Not sure if you would ever call it art but I love making cards using some wire. Here's another one I sent to my Mr.McDreamy.
Ulla - I'm sorry doctors over there don't treat you the way you deserve. I so wish you were here so I could take you to my onc. He's the sweetest doctor in the world. As for your computer issues, I think Judie has given you excellent advice. Hang in there sweetie, we are always here for you.
Shirl - Haha you are right. Each and every man loves long hair. But if I grew my hiar long, it would go real messy. My hair has never been easy to deal with. Not too curly but just too stubborn!
Karen - I don't know where I can light a candle for you so I will place my candle here. Sorry about all the crap about the hospital he's in but glad things are improving for him.
Judie - A big hi and a massive hug for you from the other side of this planet. Hope you had a good weekend.
OK everyone, my time is up. Sleep tight and have some good rest. Luv ya!

Fumi
-
Fumi, you are truly an artist. I love the wire card with the bear. I was stunned and deeply touched by the gift of the daisies. Thank you.
Ulla, I see you deleted the links. I am waiting to hear that you got rid of this nasty malware and all is well. Meanwhile, ((((((((((Ulla))))))))))))
Karen, I'm thrilled that things are better with your dad. Haldol is a nasty drug, especially in the elderly. Why did they give it to him? I never trust the chart anymore. Hospital staff are overworked to the point of inability to spend time getting to know the patient's meds, conditions, etc. Either the information didn't get there or no one bothered to look. No matter. He is better. You have been given a reprieve. It's all good.
Kaloni, I absolutely love your picture. Did you create all of the artwork or is it a collage of other pictures? Either way, you have a gift. Keep it up.
Mel, I love the underwater fantasy picture, too. Did you do it? If you did, great talent! If not, great taste! Thanks for sharing it.
Shirlann, I'm with the rest of the gang. I miss your face. It's okay if you want to take a more recent photo, or even include Cleo...that would be cute...but we need your face. You radiate a certain warmth that is soothing. Think about it.
After my mini-crisis and Banoffi pie reward, I was gifted with sudden severe edema in my lower legs and feet, passage of kidney "sand" and a bladder infection. Instead of having fun with my daughter and graddaughter fixing up her new condo, they came here and took me to the doctor. We did have the pie afterwards, though, and it was actually a fun visit.
My youngest son came today to just hang out, which always pleases me.
Tomorrow is prep day for my colonoscopy Tuesday. I get to drink 8 glassed of "stuff" in two hours tomorrow and again at five am the next day. What fun! But it buys me a day with another sweet granddaughter who will drive me all of six blocks to and from the clinic. They refuse to allow me to walk home. So stupid, but the reward is time with my granddaughter so I won't complain.
Anne, please remain bear-less. Glad to hear you are that way and pray that the bear is far away.
Lots of hugs, hope, and laughter coming your way dear sisters!
Judie
-
Karen - I am so happy to hear that your father has rallied. I will continue to pray for you all and that he will have at least a comfortable few months.
Judie - so sorry you have been unwell but glad that you still had a good time with your guests. I hope the prep and colonoscopy goes smoothly for you - it will be great to have it over with.
Fumi - as if Mr NZ will be disappointed in you! What rubbish! His heart is sure to skip when he first lays eyes on you. I love your art work - the wire work is incredible - so much detail!
AE - I'm another one who wants to hear all about your weekend!
Shirlann - I totally agree with the others. Cleo is cute but nothing compares to a photo of you. By the way - I am enjoying the Lopsided book. She is an amazing writer!
Hugs and love to everybody. Sorry to not mention you all by name. Am supposed to be getting dinner ready so I must rush.

AE, glad you enjoyed yourself. I met with Brenda (nanam) before she left for PinkStock and sent some yarn for the afgan project. I have tried crocheting with the regular yarn recently but my wrist will not hold up. I find myself doing more lace with the fine crochet thread and small steel hooks.
Ulla, glad to see you, sorry the doctors don't take the whole person approach (mental and physical)
Love all the picts. I went to a quilt show over the weekend and forgot my new digital camera so I didn't get any wonderful picts of the quilts that I saw
and boy was I inspired. There was one done with new embroidered hankies in a crazy quilt design. My mom went to her aunt's estate auction last week and got me some of the original embroidered hankies as well as dresser scarves. I have not seen them yet but the 'new hankies' quilt gave me an idea for doing them in a hanging for my office.
Sheila

I just knew you were an artist, Fumi, you just have that air about you.
AE, I love the photo, you look amazing, so cute.
Ulla, most of the time, we never know where this stuff comes from and now the hackers are so good, they say you don't even need to open stuff in e-mail to get infected, or even ads, the ones you delete. It is so sad, this is such a wonderful thing for all of us, imagine getting to talk to Fumi in Japan, You in Sweden, I just think it is amazing, but as always, there are people who just have to cause trouble.
Judie, the "prep" is the worst part of this, you will be startled at how quick the rest goes, and I know, it is silly to make you have a driver home, they did that to me, too, and I could have driven the space shuttle. But the good news, you get time with your grandaughter!
Tell you what, I am on a diet, and as soon as I lose that 20 pounds, wrinkles and all, I will get another pix. Dear Fumi is going to shoot me. She is my picture genius.
Hugs to all the sisters, and yes, that "Lopsided" was soooo funny, I laughed myself silly, this woman is a born writer, I hope she writes another one.
XXXOOOO, kisses and hugs, Shirlann

Shirlann - I met BMD at Pinkstock - I told her to give you a big hug from me at your next luncheon. Another wonderful sister.

Awwww Karen,
Im so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad sometime ago but I remember all those feelings the last few weeks and I also remember chanting to myself, "ya gotta be strong for mom"...You know we are here if you need a shoulder to cry on....dont bottle it up, let it out when you can so that you CAN be strong for mom....
If you would like to talk anytime let me know and I will pm you my number.
Love ya
Jule

Karen, sorry I didn't post about the possibility of losing your father. My DH lost his father last year after a bout with lymphoma from a melamona. His dad was admitted to the hospital the day I was released from my bilat. Needless to say the next morning my DH went to the hospital to be with his family, he had scheduled 2 days off to be with me during my first days home, he spent most of that time with his family. He had to go back on the road on Wednesday morning but was still in the state that evening when his mom called to say his dad was not improving. He made it back to the hospital before his dad died Thurs evening. Enjoy every day you can with him and if you need to break down, I echo Jule's words, come here.

Ulla,
Do you know the name of the trojan?
Do you have an antivirus program on the laptop? A good one will prevent these things and is worth its weight in gold. I use Nod32 from Eset. They do an excellent online scan, but would probably end with an ad to buy the product. It's $40 per year, and well worth it. I have never gotten a single malware, trojan, or virus since installing it four years ago. Its major problem is that it's not terribly user friendly.
Their online scan removes anything it finds on your computer. It's probably your best bet to get rid of the trojan right away. Other online scans only detect but do not remove them.
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
Also good is AVG. They have a free version that is very good for the home computer. I used it until I purchased Nod32
The third highly regarded software is Kaspersky. Often rated the best, but pricey...$80 for one year. I couldn't find the renewal price.

Hi everyone! Thank you, thank you, for all the supportive words. It means more than I could ever tell you. Can you believe that my dad was up twice this morning with the help of a walker? Amazing. He is one headstrong man! I guess I get my stubborness from him
. We still don't know if he'll be allowed to go home right away, or to rehab. He's off all the medications now, so I guess that subject will come up within the next couple of days. Apparently, a specialist is going to talk to him and my mom today about what they can expect and how badly his heart has been damaged by this. I'm almost afraid to hear what she has to say. I'll may be back tonight to let you all know how the meeting goes. Today's my sixth wedding anniversary and we're going out to dinner tonight. If we don't get home too late, I'll be back.
Love and hugs,
Karen
PS I love the picture of you, AE! You look great!
-
Happy anniversary Karen. Don't worry tonight about your dad, just go and have fun with your #1 squeeze.
My grandfather had quad bypass in 1975 and they said that it would give him 5 years. He surpassed the doctors expectations by over 20 yrs. He passed away in 2002 just before his 90th birthday.

Hi all,
I know that the posts between Ulla and me are kind of off topic, but I kept them public as a reminder to all of us. There are two absolutes in operating a computer. (Fumi, there may be more. I'm not the expert that you are, so please add if you like)
1. Back up your documents and images regularly. Again and again you run across someone who has lost years of work and irreplacable history when a drive crashes or a computer is stolen. Drives are becoming cheap. Use an external drive or tape backup and store it away from your computer.
2. Install a good antivirus program and keep it updated. Why I prefer Nod32 is that it regularly catches virus/spyware/malware BEFORE it is even installed. It prevents the need to remove anything. It's not 100%, of course, but close. And the price is reasonable. I don't know anything about One Care, so can't comment. Also, Nod32 is very small and uses minimal resources on your computer. End of sales pitch.
More important than the particular software is that you keep it current and use it.
I know, it's easy to forget. Good intentions and all...kind of like flossing. But there is so much to lose, and so much frustration and fear to be had if you ignore these rules.
In love and caring for each of you,
Judie
