Hi all,
Karen, I just want you to know that I'm thinking about you. I know that everything will come out for the best. My fingers are crossed and prayers are said.
Sue I know how you feel about being uneducated. Everytime I read something, it leaves me with even more questions.
On a lighter note. I met my friend and she is the best. We had a blast and we were both upset that I could not stay. WOW what a sisterhood I belong to. I love you guys and carry you all with me in spirit.
With love

Angie...I am glad you had such a nice lunch with your new sister!!
Sue...I know how you feel also about feeling uneducated in our disease. But, personally, I don't want to know everything. That is just me. I want to know what I have, how to get rid of it, and keep it away...and that's it.
Terry, thanks for posting! We do have a long thread!! Over 3500 posts!! We rock! And yes...we have a very special sisterhood here. Feel free to join us. I would have to second Sue on your grandsons pic...I saw it on the other thread...he is a doll! I posted my grandson's pic there as well.
Sheila...you are at the very end of your reconstruction journey!! Good for you! Does the nipple creation hurt?
xoxo

Oh yes, I honestly think the women I have met on this site, and the strong bonds I feel for all of you, you all feel closer than most of my relatives.
I don't know why, maybe because this type of illness makes you feel so alone. Kinda like you are behind a glass wall watching everyone else laugh, and eat, and dance, and you can't. Terribly distressing. So when we find each other, we can dance and eat and laugh for sure.
I understand how the vets feel. If you haven't been there, buddy, don't even TRY to talk to me. We might call it a grim club, but we have our fun too, in each others cyberarms.
We just need to get our gals who are in treatment through this frickin' nightmare. In the middle of winter, too.
But think, we all made it through Christmas, only 11 months till the next one. (hee hee, that was mean) Sue is through the "red devil". Ulla is in a bit of a hole, but we will pull her out.
We HAVE made a lot of progress, so just keep on keeping on. All my dear, precious sisters.
Gentle hugs, Shirlann

Lisa, It was actually the easiest procedure that I have had done. My doctor did it in the OR on Thursday and I went to work on Friday, I had some pain meds but did not take any. I kept them bandaged for 2 days before showering. After the shower I bandaged again with gauze pads we cut holes in the middle of to poke the new nipples through to prevent them from getting squished with another pad over the top because they were still bleeding slightly. He used dissolving sutures on the nipple and removable sutures on the sides.
They look huge when they are first made but now they are closer to normal size.

Crap!! I just sent a really long post and lost it! Grrrr!!
Thanks to you all for the encouraging and supportive words. I'm sure it will all be okay, but it's so hard not to worry.
Sheila, so sorry that the tattoo machine is on the fritz. You've waited so long. How frustrating!
Angie, I'm glad that you had a nice lunch with your new sister. I know how it is when you start talking to someone who's in the same boat as you. I find it hard to stop talking when I'm in that situation.
Shirlann, you are such a sweetheart. I feel just like you--I feel closer to you all than I do to some of my family members. I can vent here and know that you all understand.
Ulla, I'm so glad you're feeling better today. It will get better, honey. Just keep thinking about meeting Sue and Lucy and how much fun you're going to have. Hang in there!
Sue, I feel your anxiety about having to go to the dreaded hospital for your bone scan. I'm going to hate having to go back to my cancer center so soon after my last chemo for that stupid CAT scan. I need a break! When I think about how much longer you're going to be doing chemo, I feel so badly. I wish you were finishing up too. The worst is behind you though. Keep focusing on that!
Love to you all--Valerie, Lisa, Melody, Lucy, Terry (welcome!), Wren, Mia, and anyone I may have missed. Karyll, we're praying for you! Please post when you feel up to it.
Hugs,
Karen

Karen,
I forget..what is the book, and what is it about? I may need a read later..while I am recouping.
Karen, it is hard not to worry. But, here is a quote that someone posted jus a little bit ago on the surgery thread I go too. "worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles....it empties today of it's strenght". I really like that! Better than my worry is for shit..haha..although that is from my dear grandmother from years ago..so it is still special to me.
Ulla, Karen, Wren, Angie, Karyll...and anyone else still going through treatment or finishing up your bc journey...my younger sister sent me an email, to calm my fears about my upcoming surgery...she said..just remember..."keep your eye on the prize". So that is what I am doing. I hope you all can use that as a focus...the prize..at the end of our rainbow...EMERALD CITY!
Eat Sue....I am extra hungry today too! Manga, manga! (Italian for eat!)
Karyll...post if you can! Hope you are doing well.
xoxo

-

What is the book, and what is it about? I may want it!
-
You will like the book Lisa.... its about 4 ladies meeting up for lunch and discussing their bootface journey ..... and everything they went through physically and emotionally xxx "nordies at noon" is the title xxx I t will do you good to have something to read while laid up xxx
-
Sounds like I would enjoy it!
Karen, when you are done...send it my way! I'll pm you my address, since I will not be on the pc for awhile.
-
Hi Ladies, I heard of that book a bit ago, "nordies at noon" and dah.. thought it was about some fabulously rich women meeting up at "nordstrom at noon" (a wonderful, but pricey American store).. Good grief, for a long time I thought ESPN on tv meant a spanish choice channel. Talk about elevators not stopping quite right...
Sue, I drop bye and, like the others, check up on you and Ulla and all the other fine ladies here. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, sending good thoughts for you your way.
All the best,
Tender -
Tender - they do meet at Nordstrom's at noon!!!! But they are 4 ladies under the age of 30 who had bc. They meet there to discuss the book. Its a good read.
AE

Hi sisters. I am sending this prayer candle for all who are in need of Gods comfort. I'm praying for those going through treatment and are having a rough time of it. I pray that tx is victorious and your pains will soon stop. I pray for those having to go for tests. I am praying for good results and that God will calm your fears and worries. I am praying for all the spouses and partners of all my sisters , that You Lord , will help them to understand what my sisters are going through so they can be there for them mind , heart and soul. And most of all Lord , I thank You for all my dear sisters , who are now friends of my heart. Thank you Lord for all our blessings and all our blessings to come. Amen
-
Love Nordstroms...can't afford it..but love it! All under the age of 30..wow!
AE...I checked out Coldwater Creek's website...lots of great deals!! I was looking for some button down blouses, for after the surgery. They didn't have what I needed...but I am going to this little 2nd hand shop, that I consign the girls and my clothing, and see what she has.
Hi Tender..it's been awhile. Good to see you!
xoxo
