Almighty God, Father of all mercies,we thine unworthy servants do give thee most humble and hearty thanks
for all thy goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all men. We bless thee for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;but above all for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ,for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies,that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful,
and that we shew forth thy praise, not only with our lips,
but in our lives;by giving up ourselves to thy service,
and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness
all our days;through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us;
Let us pray with one heart and mind.
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;

In the Morning:
I met God in the morning
When my day was at its best,
And His presence came like sunrise
Like a glory in my breast.
All day long the Presence lingered;
All day long He stayed with me.
And we sailed with perfect calmness
Oer a very troubled sea.
Other ships were blown and battered,
Other ships were sore distressed;
But the winds that seemed to drive them
Brought to us a peace and rest.
Then I thought of other mornings
With a keen remorse of mind,
When I, too, had loosed the moorings
With the Presence left behind.
So I think I know the secret,
Learned from many a troubled way.
You must seek God in the morning
If you want Him through the day.

Prayer for the Start of Day
This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. Creator of life and light,

Patti,
Will you please add to your prayers for a friend of mine. Her friends daughter has just been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of BC. Her name is Donna and is the mother of two, 4 & 7. She is 39 and lives in Chambersburgh,PA. Her mother, Betty needs prayers also to help her deal with this.
I told my friend to tell her friend about this site and how all of you have gotten me through Marci's ordeals and I could not have done it with out all the prayers and love everyone on this site gives. God's blessings on everyone here and thank you Patti for being such a good friend.

By Fanny Crosby, Hymnist and poet... Born March 24, 1820, Frances Jane Crosby had normal vision at birth
but at six weeks suffered eye inflammation which led to her loss of sight....
Miss Crosby spent 98 yrs/i] of her life
composing roughly 1,000 poems and over 9,000 songs/hymns..
Her songs demonstrate a deeper sight..Greater than that of any physical vision.......
Written in 1906...For a number of days before I wrote this hymn, all had seemed dark to me. That was indeed an unusual experience, for I have always been most cheerful; and so in my human weakness I cried in prayer, 'Dear Lord, hold thou my hand.' Almost at once the sweet peace that comes of perfect assurance returned to my heart, and my gratitude for this evidence of answered prayer sang itself in the lines of the hymn.

Exactly how to pray.
I need some words
Which ones are right?
Please tell me what to say.
I've bowed my head
I have knelt down,
But ... should I be upright?

Or ... should I fold them tight?
Do I stand up?
Should I sit down?
Dear Lord ... what do you like?
Are lights turned on Or are they off?
Maybe ... candle light?
Wear my glasses?
Take them off?
Be at my desk or table?
Should I whisper?
Speak out loud?
Do I quote the Bible?
What do you think
About the time?
Do You prefer the dawn?
Should I pray fast,
Or keep it slow?
Better short ... or long?
I'm new at this
What are the rules?
I want to do it right.
How do I know
You'll even hear
That I am in Your sight?
And while I sat there quietly, Waiting for some sign, I heard a gentle voice say:

Do you need Me
I am there.
You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the Sick, we turn to You in this time of illness. 0 dearest Comforter of the Troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden.
